What kind of holster should I get for my SAA? I don’t know if I want to go full cowboy (although I do live in the middle of nowhere so I ***could*** if I wanted).

Realistically speaking what are the mechs even contributing to this military force that you couldn't get by just swapping out the APCs for IFVs instead?
>>64641256>>64641260yeah but it's not the textbook ideal
>>64641264Maybe not but if it's easier to scrounge together 22 mechs than it is to find an equivalent amount of infantry that would indicate mechs are more common than infantry in the setting
>>64641272Given how armor works in BT, infantry would more than likely be massively deprecated against mechs and vehicles due to a dearth of effective man-portable anti-armor capabilities.
>>64641272nah there are loads of Mech-heavy formations but that doesn't say anything about rarity

>duuude gun laws are pointless because everyone with 4k worth of tools and 2 weeks of free-time can build his very own SMG (that has an effective range of 10 yards)ok but where are you going to get the ammo? sure, smuggling 10 rounds across the border is easier than smuggling a weapon but for a proper "protect the rights of the people"-situation you need hundreds if not thousands of rounds per gunseems like it would make more sense to build DIY long range rifles instead of SMGs / Pistols so you can get the most out of each roundyes, you can make your own ammo with blanks and slugs but that stuff can be banned too and then its back to square 1

I recently saw a video which made me impressed by the advantages of a straight pull rifle. Who makes them besides blazer? Andy doesn’t everyone make them? In the past you could more reasonably argue that turn bolt are more precise but I’m not sure that holds anymore? Also manually operation rifle thread I guess
>>64640808>anything the real meta is cock-on-closenot in target shooting, I took my sportsman 15 to the range to see where it was sighted and having to compress the striker spring calmly would get tiresome. Might see how fast it can run as then I wouldn't notice the striker spring ham fisting the bolt.
>>64640991>made in nazilandthey have some fucking retarded numbering system like HK does for the roller guns which is made even more fucking annoying because only like half of HKs roller guns actually correctly follow their retarded fucking numbering convention the first 2 digits denote the action the second 2 denote the type of gun outside the actionHK has a similar thing they only follow half the time where the first number is the gen the second is the gun type and the third is the caliberan HK91 is a first gen US export semi auto rifle in 7.62 nato. an HK94 is a first gen US export semi auto in 9mm. An HK 43 is a semi auto only clone of an assault rifle in 5.56 designed to be sold to conscripts/national guardsmen in countries with conscription, like how the swiss take their sg90s home and can buy them but need the trigger pack changed to remove full auto

>>64641481Right now it a pretty basic demo but it's pretty fun, the worm level is absolute fucking ass though but they only show up in the second mission. Some of the guns are just objectively better than others but that's mostly because the demo version doesn't have any levels where you need to minimize collateral damage.Overall pretty fun for a top down arcade-y cassette futurism shooter, would recommend checking out if you wanna kill an hour.

How effective were these things? Obsidian is said to be extremely sharp and multiple edges instead of one straight blade might be extremely painful.
>>64634659In the early battles the Spainish defeated several "republics" as they defined them, in one case in a 10k v 500 battle. These people then became their allies once they realized how effective they were. The local axillaries were likely most useful for logistical support, allowing the Conquistadors to advance very quickly and always be well supplied in food and water. It's funny that they've basically forbade the recitation of the campaigns on youtube even uploads of college lectures for political reasons. All first hand accounts are suspect but there was a reason why the Aztec system fell so quickly . The Inca could partially resist and had actual formations after a fashion. They were still crushed but it required real effort, the Aztecs' entire system was extremely fragile to any outside force since it was held balance by lesser towns raiding tribals for captives which they would present as tribute to the city states. And the tribes would raid one another to pay off the towns with captives. And due to the spread of the elite culture sacrifice seems to have been endemic even in the tribal societies. It was human sacrifice and cannibalism all the way done.
>>64639284There is no actual evidence of that, they also already knew what gambesons were and likely had them under their breastplates. There are similar stories about the Spanish being reluctant to cross rope bridges, and this is attributed to them under understanding what a tension bridge is despite having crossed the sea on ships with fucking rigging identical in function and form to a rope bridge. More likely they were warry about the condition of a fucking rope in a wet environment as they lugged small cannon across it. However given the relative poverty of the invading force and the fact that shit breaks on campaign I can see anybody taking whatever they can get, because that's always how it works.Ironically almost all narratives pushed about colonial expansion are anti-colonial due to the biases held by academics for at least a century at this point. And a century prior to that the narratives were pro-yourcolonialism and anti-everybodyelsescolonialism. The entire narrative around the Belgian Congo for example was constructed by the Belgian parliament who wanted it out of King's hands and into that of the government, or the British because they wanted it. As for my own biases, I would have preferred to march on the Aztecs with 30,000 hardened Landsknechts, kill everyone in Mexico, metal down all their metal, and dip their skulls in it for convenience of carrying obviously and no other reason.
>>64639284>>64639545Atl atlas aren't doing shit to defeat plate armor. Lances, with the mass of an armored horse and rider behind it, couldn't reliably defeat plate curiasses at this point. If people were picking up gambeson from the locals it was because:>Rodelleros didn't reliably have armor to begin with>Gambesons are perishable. They get so fucking gross you'll stop wearing them, they tear so badly it isn't worth fixing them, and they can literally get stiff with blood and sweat >Plate cannot breathe. Sweat will not evaporate under it, you get hot fast, and stay hot. If you opposition are stupid cavemen with sharp clubs, you may very well elect to not wear your breastplate unless you're going into a pitched battle >Firsthand accounts suggest the Aztecs were.... not very skilled. Armor is less important if you're confident the other guy can't hit you
