The Sharpest General on /k/ - comfy victorinox Edition

This thread is about the appreciation of knives, bickering about what a bowie knife is, debating the merits of steel chemistry no one in the thread is qualified to explain, and pretending that we sharpen our blades.

"I want a knife recommendation."
Answer the following:
>Larping or folding (or both (or neither))?
>Intended larp?
>Blade circumference?
>Local politicians you will stab?
>How many weeks wages will you spend on this knife?

I know you are trying to make fun of the UK but you are failing hard

Gun control and the number of deaths and casualties are highly correlated.

Comparing New York City in the United States and London in the United Kingdom, which have nearly identical crime rates and populations:
・In London, with strict gun control, the average annual number of deaths from violent crimes involving firearms is approximately 112.
Conversely, in the United States with looser regulations, the average annual death toll under the same conditions is approximately 391.
(※2023 statistical data)

The fact that the death toll is more than three times higher despite identical crime rates clearly demonstrates how lethal firearms are as weapons.

Even if violent crime rates remain unchanged, strict gun control measures undoubtedly have the effect of preventing an increase in victims.

Homicide Rate per 100,000 People
London ~1.1 – 1.2 homicides per 100,000 people (2024–2025 figures) — quite low by global standards.
New York City ~4.0 – 4.3 homicides per 100,000 people (2024 data).

New York City’s homicide rate is roughly 3–4 times higher than London’s. For example, if London has about 1.2 per 100,000, NYC’s ~4.0 means its rate is about 3.3× greater than London’s.
The Standard

Both cities have seen long-term declines in homicide rates compared with past decades, especially New York, which had much higher rates in the 1990s.
Reddit

Despite perceptions, London’s homicide rate remains low compared with major U.S. cities and is more typical of large cities in Europe.

Rubio actually seems like a voice of reason with his general knowledge of foreign affairs, and typically seems to unfuck whatever Vance, Donald Jr. or Trump’s son in law do at negotiations or official foreign functions. Why someone wholly ignorant of the world outside of their bubble and only there due to riding on the coattails of the big man is allowed to do anything in foreign affairs without knowing Africa is a continent is an insult to the promise of dismantling DEI hires: you literally just gave the job to some low IQ retards for the sack of “Inclusiveness.”

From my understanding of the law (that I've read), modern reproduction, black powder, cap & ball handguns with a barrel length greater than 4 inches should still be legal as restricted's. Am I wrong? Has more recent legislation changed this? What I really want to know is can I buy a repro 1851 Navy, I want to pretend to be a cowboy.

>>64642491

They are classed as modern handguns.

Just get the MP5 dummy. Its really that simple. Best SMG. UMP was made to be cheap slop and thats what it is.
>>
>>64640953
The funny thing about SF units still using any SMGs (regardless of caliber) after 2009 is that it sort of proves that .300 BLK is sort of a meme. I shouldn't get into that discussion because it's worthy of it's own thread but .300 BLK has really not lived up to its niche.

>>64641014
>MP5
It's a superior design in every way, but it's only made in 9mm nowadays (with a few 10mm ones in the used market after the FBI got rid of them). That's why guns like the Stribog are coming out.

>>64641031
9mm is much cheaper to shoot and far more popular. A 10mm mp5 would be niche. I love shooting 9mm and a big reason why I bought my MP5 was to shoot a cool fun gun that shot inexpensive ammo after x39 shot up in price. Only downside of the MP5 is weight. I wish it was made of aluminum but I understand being lighter would increase recoil and its a stamped steel design :(
>>
>>64640680
Yeah but recoil is a big factor in select fire weapons. True, weight and other design factors affect the felt recoil. But the caliber the weapon is chambered in is a great factor also. Id also say that most weapons that are chambered in both 9 and 45 are more easily handled in 9 like the vector or the ump.
