I've got a serious strategy to beat China in WW3. Let's say we're trying to invade Shanghai: we'll humidify the fuck out of Shanghai's atmosphere with milk particles. Chinese people by-and-large are lactose intolerant, so all the Chinese soldiers will be forced to surrender due to shitting their pants or experiencing a tummy ache; meanwhile, the milk in the atmosphere will enhance the combat capabilities of western soldiers. It doesn't violate the Geneva Conventions because milk is technically not a chemical weapon, and it'd be humane too since it doesn't even cause any permanent injuries. We'll haul over all kinds of equipment and boatloads of milk to achieve it, and we could even "poison" Shanghai's water supply with milk, leaving the Chinese with zero ability to fight. There'd probably be mass desertions too since PLA soldiers would just ditch the trenches to get away from the smell of shit.I don't know if chemical weapons are within the scope of /k/, but what do you guys think? Should I try and lobby this idea to a think tank?

FCAS is clearly dead, there will be no shared plane. France is able to develop it's own plane, Germany is not. That leaves the question, does Germany back down? Do they enlist the US/France/UK to build vital components? What other methods can they do to produce a future fighter?
Easy, Rheinmetall and Helsing are nearly ready to reveal the german 6th gen fighter.
>>64630244Damn I'd love to know what you're smoking
>>64630244source ? UCAV is not a fighter
>>64599739I am fully convinced that Dassault is already developing a 6th gen fighter demonstrator on the side. They are trying to sabotage the whole FCAS project. It was three options for them:1. Win majority on FCAS fighter and relegate Airbus DS to a supplier and crush Germany's aero industry2. Scuttle FCAS so France has to stay with them as a sole supplier3. Lose majority on the FCAS fighter and have Airbus DS become a rival in the fighter jet industry. It seems like they will go down route 2 since the French Parliament is basically in their pocket and route 1 was always a gamble.
>>64625640>nuclear deterrent comes firstAnd the FCAS NGF will be their airborne deterrence, yet making an aircraft CATOBAR-compatible will have negative consequence on its kinetic performance. Like it or not, while frogs mostly relies on nuclear ALCM. That's still doesnt mean the jet should be a flying brick. And that comes at the cost of muh "CATOBAR", something that the us can easily shut down on a whim, something frogs repeatedly throwing tantrums after tantrums whenever someone place a new order of f35, while their poojet got pwned by chinks temu.

Whats everyones experience with buying guns, ammo, other sporting goods, hunting gear, reloading equipment. How do they compare to Cabelas, BassPro, and Sportsmans Warehouse. And Gander Mountain? I do love their price match, was able to get them to price match with gunmagwarehouse on gen 3 pmags.
>>64636787I never managed their account but was close with the guy who did and saw all their data. They're a MAP store as far as I know. If the price went up, it's almost certainly because HK raised MAP or cracked down on them for violating. Maybe both.
>>64636993This is what I dont get how come both the HK SP-5 and SP-5K are the same price?
>>64637044Because the MSRP is the same. The work I do now involves setting MSRP and MAP for products so if they're like any mfgr I've ever worked for, MAP is dictated as a percentage off MSRP within line. If MSRP is the same, MAP will be the same and thus they'll cost the same in stores. If you're asking why MSRP is the same, there are dozens of factors that play into that, not least of which is just "cause the people who decide feel like it."
>>64635649Generally better shopping experience, selection and pricing than most corporate chain stores. Their used guns aren't priced at crackhead prices either, with some occasional genuinely good deals to be had. On the whole I prefer an LGS, but if I had to buy something at a chain store I'd take Scheels over SW/CAB/BP by miles. I haven't been in a GM yet so no comment on that.
Better customer service though more modern selection as far as guns go. You'll fine treasure more at Cabela's and bass pro, but enjoy a mandatory several hour long wait for them to actually sell you the gun. Scheels is probably the best out of the bunch

QTDDTOTHow much of a serious difference is there in between various brands of 5.56? Assuming same grain weight, bullet type, whatever. I'm trying to buy ammo in bulk and I'm struggling to figure out what brands to buy for both M193 and M855. Currently looking at Winchester for both just because it's cheap and there's a rebate for them. Both will just be for plinking and hoarding.
>>64636940>not quite up to AP levels.fair
>>64636940how would you place 5.56x45mm M855/SS109 and 5.56x45mm with a hardened steel core versus 6.5x25mm CBJis it M855 < 5.56 hardened steel < 6.5mm tungsten kinetic penetratorthe problem with 6.5 is lower muzzle energy, it's roughly 3 times lower than 5.56 but it does have a lower caliber and significantly harder material
>>64636998and we know for a fact that there are 9mm AP rounds with a tungsten core that penetrate NIJ IIIso a 9mm round with 500 joules of energy penetrates armor rated to rifle roundswould it be safe to assume that the same round of 500 joules with HALF the caliber (4.5mm/.177 is the actual caliber of the penetrator in 6.5mm) will penetrate armor rated to NIJ III+ or armor rated to stop hardened steel core 5.56I did some retarded calculations and in joules^2/mm^2 6.5mm has like 15k of empirical units and 5.56 has around 120k, that is without taking hardness of the core into accountif tungsten
>>64636998M855 mild steel < 6.5mm tungsten < M855A1 hardened steel < M995 tungsten < M993 tungstenit's impressive for a pistol cartridge but it's just not as strong as a rifle. 6.5 out of a 12" barrel can penetrate a 9mm (presumably hardened) steel plate (M855 can not) while M855A1 can penetrate a 9.5mm hardened steel plate at 300-350 meters.
>>64637081thank you!so it's kinda close? what if you jack up the powder in 6.5mm to increase velocity (though that's probably not possible considering they developed the cartridge to be used in this exact loading) and replace tungsten with tungsten carbide?if the difference is 0.5mm, can anything be done to improve its performance?

Ballistics wise is it retarded to get a 3 inch colt python?Should I get a 4.25 inch instead? Also I really like the high polish blued version, is there any downside to having a high polish gun and should I get the matte stainless or matte blued version instead?
>>64637243And obviously a DA/SA is the ideal but I wish they were thinner.
>>64635754it's just a good, solid gun.
>>64637232>Similar stopping power to a 9mm, but pierces body armorFalse. 5.7 is closer to 22 magnum than 9mm. From a handgun.>LightweightYes>cheap ammo (nigger 10mms are being recommended)CNN level bullshit. 5.7 is more expensive than 357 magnum factory ammo. . .>Excellent sights out of the box, rails for red dotsSubjective and yes it can be had optics ready.>Low recoil and very easy to shootOh abso fucking lutely. This is the reason to get a 5.7.>ReliableSure, but so is literally every other handgun that costs more than 200 bucks.I mean, if your goal is to have an astounding 3 more rounds than a 9mm in a full size pistol, in exchange for significantly worse termimal performance, more difficulty to reload the ammunition, and significantly more expense, go for it. If I was paying that much for ammo, I would rather go with 357 Sig. Same price and better in every way aside from ammo capacity.
>>64637247Finish doesn't matter, stainless is the least likely to rust, but it's not enough of a difference to even worry about. Get what you think is pretty.3 inch wheelguns are probably the best, balance wise for concealability and minimizing power loss from shorter barrels, but if you aren't going to carry it, get whichever makes you smile more when you pick it up. The 4 inch will have better sight radius and will be slightly less loud. If you plan on carrying it, get the 3 inch or shorter if you prefer. Snub nose 357s only being as strong as 38s is retarded boomer lore. You lose power yes, but you can still expand any hollow point you will ever want to use from a 3 inch gun. The only hollow points that probably won't expand are 180 grain rifle centric bullets bullets, the heavy flat point XTPs, or the cheap ass foreign made hollow point or soft point loads like Fiochi or PMC
Hypothetically, if the Iron Age came sooner and the Bronze Age was dramatically shorter (or didn't happen at all), would swords be more prominent on the battlefield? Or were polearms just inevitable?
>>64634219Spears were always inevitable due to their reach. Swords, however, were very popular as personal defense weapons.
Copper and bronze swords were popular and knives were always common. Iron just made them even more common. The metal cost between a sword and spear is not a dealbreaker. Swords were everywhere.
>>64634219It's actually kinda funny but Iron was well known in the Bronze age. It was considered inferior because it rusted and Wrought Iron is softer than Bronze. There was totally people running around with iron swords in the Bronze Age, they were just routinely mocked for having a cheaply made weapon.
>>64634354>>64634219Swords were literally always popular as battlefield arms.Spearfags rope.
>>64635208Neat, but the major distinction material technology of the Iron Age wasn't wrought iron, but some weird iron alloy.
