That sounds pretty good but I heard they've got snipers with .50 cals at the corners of Kensington n' east Venango and then a dude with an M240 on Wishart controlling them million dollar blocks. What's the play?
I can give my boi Wilson a call and see if he'll make a .50 cal plate. 8002 on crack.

Can any naval history knowers tell me how navies (specifically USN and RN) corraled and policed on shore sailors before the adoption of formal shore patrol in the 20th century?

Obviously Master of Arms dates back to the 18th century but how did they enforce discipline in port? Ships would have only 1 MAA and 1-2 Corporals at Arms so did they empower sailors to assist like SP or use marines? Even my extremely autistic encyclopedia of the age of sail Neson's Navy by Brian Laverty that provides extreme detail on every subject from the provisoning of ships, the purpose of every knot used aboard ship to the practicality of buggery at sea only states the basic duties of the MAA and that shore leave was only provided to a limited number of sailors at any one time.

The Chicane's 30mm is far superior to the Ibis 40mm. Velocity, accuracy, ammo count, not needing to reload, can reliably shoot down aircraft within 1km. Only real benefit of the 40mm GL is that you can arc it over cover and the Ibis like a flying mortar

>Most guns used by Mexican narcos are American because they take 0 effort to obtain
This is a relatively recent phenomenon because they now mill their own AR receivers and bring over lower parts kits and finished uppers.
Before that the majority of weapons in Mexico could not be traced back to the US. It was the handguns that were like 90% American-sourced because pistols are more regulated worldwide and easier to smuggle.
Ammo was pretty much all bought in the US.

You are correct, the only way we will see That are if they start standardizing on nato equipment, or joining nato. Still wishful thinking though, as a lifting an arms restrictions and they can start exporting aks. Yes it’s highly unlikely but still would be interesting if it did go through

I got a Ljungman with a cracked and shellac'd stock (twin receiver tang cracks) and I am strongly considering replacing the stock with a walnut one. There's that 1 guy who took a Hakim and fit an M14e2 stock to it with a cheesegrater handguard and outside of the pistol grip, I lowkey wanna do the same to my Ljungman. Maybe a bakelite type grip, a diopter or a scout mount, and a bipod so I can use MG25 mags and turn it into a weird DMR sorta thing.

So long as their officers knew the fire plan and didn't walk themselves into a divisional mass the casualties they sustained hugging the curtain were generally deemed preferable to lagging behind and missing that golden moment when they could take forward trench line with effectively zero resistance.

Does anyone know why like 3/4ths of 1866 winchester rifles sold were carbines where as 2/3rds of winchester 1873 rifles sold were rifles and 1/3rd were carbines? they were sold concurrently for a while, the 1866 was sold from 1866-1899 and the 1873 was old from 1873 until like the 1920s. my best guess is that since the 1866 was cheaper and used cheaper materials it filtered out to the west/poorer people more and they actually carried the damn thing so they preferred carbines whereas the 1873 had a much better marketing campaign
>the rifle that won the west
even though the west was largely settled by then with only like 1 major injun victory at bighorn after 1873 and a lot of the notable outlaws/gun fighters dead before 1880.
So because the 1873 had a much better marketing campaign and was more expensive it was sold more to guys back east who had money who wanted nice fancy rifles and weren't necessarily using them for work or to subsistence hunt like the pioneers were.
apparently the 1892s were also 2/3rds rifles to carbines, which I was not expecting because modern hunting lever guns are almost always carbines and you started to see more hunting oriented design choices like button mags after 1900 before the bolt action surplus market displaced the lever guns

It's like, a math thing. It's "advanced fractional computing", very high level. I'm not sure how they did it without computers?
>>
>>64731907
the 1866, 1873 and 1892 are all basically the same gun. all they did with the 1866 was make the receiver out of iron and later steel and change the cartridge from .44 rimfire to .44 center fire and that's the 1873 and the 1892, despite being a different action, is a replacement for the 1873 being in the same .44-40, .38-40 and .32-20 cartridges so it's weird that the preference flipped from carbine to rifle
