Looking to buy MM14 stuff. Found a couple of vendors on Etsy and eBay but wanted to know if any else has used them. I don't want Chinese shit and if possible, would prefer my money goes to Ukraine. I know Kyiv is without power right now and that stuff might take a while to get here in the states, wanted to see if any other autist has experience buying gear from Ukraine.

I don't know why you'd want such a thing, chinkshit is a pretty good source for obscure and exotic camos in acceptable quality uniforms (though they always have a strange smell). If you want to support Ukraine, buy a trophy vostok or patch or one of those Su-34 keychains

most of the reputable chinkshit brands I normally buy for multicam, EMR, and ATACS don't offer MM14 camo, That would leave me to try offbrand chinkshit with questionable sizing and quality. The Russian shit I used to buy was of questionable quality, sure, but at least it was made for white people sizes, not chink gigamanlet sizes.

Why didn't the US switch to intermediate calibers completely and instead insisted on full size calibers for another 2-3 decades after WW2, despite the M1 Carbines success? Clearly the power it offered was completely sufficient. Of course I know the .30 carbine isn't exactly a true intermediate round, but I'd think that someone would have been aware of 7.92 kurz and even 7.62x39 and come to the conclusion that .30 carbine didn't give us any issues and the russians and germans are experimenting with this new fancy assault rifle idea, maybe we should do something like that as well. Most other countries adopted intermediate calibers much quicker, even though it's the US that had fairly unique at the time experience with something like a proto-intermediate caliber during WW2.

How much of a serious difference is there in between various brands of 5.56? Assuming same grain weight, bullet type, whatever. I'm trying to buy ammo in bulk and I'm struggling to figure out what brands to buy for both M193 and M855. Currently looking at Winchester for both just because it's cheap and there's a rebate for them. Both will just be for plinking and hoarding.

>The only reason to go for 6.5mm is if the rifle is geared for long range precision shooting

Yeah, not exactly. This is entirely dependent upon the cartridge load combination.

"Nosler Partition: the 165gr 308 Winchester load has 31.6% more muzzle energy, 14.7% more retained energy at 500 yards, and 3.3″ (6.4%) LESS drop at 500 yards than the 140gr Partition from the 6.5 Creedmoor."

https://thebiggamehuntingblog.com/65-creedmoor-vs-308-winchester/

.308Win takes zero backseat to that Creedmoor round when apples are compared to apples.

>Ammunition is not much more expensive than 308

Match grade OTS ammunition in 6.5mm averages about +10 cents per round more expensive than .308Win. And barrel life is about 50%.

Why did SOCOM just put 92 million into getting 6.5CM for their troops if its basically the same if not worse as you are seeming to imply? Seems the entire government is moving from 7.62x51 to 6.5CM for all accurized shooting.

>The MRGSS-S takes “advantage of advances in ammunition and weapons technology to improve the intermediate range sniper rifle lethality, reliability and performance when suppressed during 50-1,500 meter engagements,” the Pentagon’s notice added.

>The 7.62x51mm M110, a designated marksman rifle in service across all branches of the U.S. military, as well as various U.S. federal government law enforcement agencies, can reach out to just under 2,625 feet (800 meters).

In 1959 it was .222 Rem Modified which would later become the .223 Rem. I believe 20rd mags for the M16 were labeled ".223 Rem" until some time in the 70s (would have to double-check 20rd mag resources for collectors). Basically, what >>64631455 said.

Unpopular opinion on this board:

(From a relative close distance)

Ive tried one of those arrows here and it cutted straight through an European wooden door (meaning, heavier, massive, not made of cardboard). It got stuck because of the back part of the arrow

Lets say from close distance:
A single arrow of this kind is deathlier than a single bullet from the same distance honnestly. This blade cutts enough veins and its impact is horrific. If it hits an artery its done soon but even the veins, tissue, other shit it damages is quite sick if you ask me. It's dark here now otherwise I could show you the door with literally a vertical hole of that arrow through it.

I think a bullet will be my choice if I have to choose between being hit by a single bullet or a single arrow of this kind

Bullet.

Have another.
>>
>>64632667
A bloadhead is more deadly than a pistol bullet. Once you reach rifle velocities say 2700fps mv with enough bullet mass to carry through (momentum) after the initial energy exchange (impact resistance, bullet expansion) the game changes drastically. But when it comes to pistol bullets compared to a broadhead designed for game like deer, the broadhead wins. Most compound bows are getting over 300fps some much higher and 400fps is pretty common in crossbows. The momentum of even 400 grains at 400fps when it has a sharp broadhead, coated low friction shaft and Vanes that are flexible means a quick in and out overcoming friction and even cracking bone.
Arrow/bolt better than pistol in a single shot kill/feint time comparison.

The truly sad part of this is, with a bit more of geopolitical foresight these guys would have been great allies against international jihadists, instead here we are, US political class with at least 2 brain cells wondering how they will salvage american hegemony after the orange faggot quicks the bucket and the taliban signing contracts with the chinks and other people dropping America to bypass sanctions. Good stuff, although that's only ~10-11 dudes and a BTR, not a platoon and an MBT.

I mean who is collecting corpses and wounded in these scenarios? What is the incentive to do so instead of hanging the bodies from trees, or even just leaving them on the ground to rot? The most surprising thing to me is that there isn't evidence of previous zigger incursions that were dealt with. Yes, the frontline is long, but if they kill or seriously hurt as many as they claim, (~33000 a month) there ought to be bodies everywhere, especially around urban hotspots.

Yes, the Navy proposed buying it as well to get support from the senators with their states in locksneed's supply chain.

>>64632757
It unironically would have been better for the USCG than the Legend class. It's half the upfront cost, half the operating cost, does everything the USCG needs, and the Navy was footing the bill for ironing out the bugs anyway. But I think the Coast Guard wanted a boatier-looking boat, and they were flush with cash after 9/11, and since the Legend class was being built at Ingalls they could have them built in parallel and wouldn't have to wait their turn.

Yep, all you really need to know is that it's the Locksneed ship to have an idea how many hands were greased. That said in fairness the entire 2000s under Bush and his fucktarded gay GWOT were an absolute shit show for conventional US military power and programs. So many experimental dumb concepts from dotcom or the like were pushed, so much (trillions!) budget diverted into worthless efforts in the middle east, so much LE END OF HISTORY FASTER CHEAPER by Rumsfield and his band of idiot schoolboys. I hate to say it but I unironically think history would have gone way better if Gore had won. So not like LCS wasn't badly managed all around I guess.

> If you’re saying they didn’t bother to raise the tax stamp because there weren’t enough in circulation, then why didn’t they restrict it more heavily? A Hughes equivalent for suppressors, SBRs, SBSs, etc. It would have been easier to restrict the NFA more in the past than today. They can’t even pass a AWB. Tax stamps aren’t magically going to $5000 with a Dem Congress.

Also why didn’t they raise it in the past to match inflation
>>
>>64624968
> Oh I know. All I'm saying is that the creativity in Turkish shotgun companies is absolutely there. With an increase in QC/material quality, actual engineering, and slight improvements in aesthetic design I think they could make a fucking killing in the shotgun market. Not going to happen but a man can dream.

Only way it could happen if shotguns required the same strict certifications that are needed for what they have for rifles and handguns
>>
>>64632115
Yep. And like I said a couple days ago, I think if they change anything to increase it, then it opens up the legal challenge of taxing a right. The fingerprinting, $200, and previously the wait times kept enough people away from NFA items the feds were happy with that.

Hey 4chan. Me and my buddy were drinking last night and having a debate with each other about guns. He's been a gun owner for about 6 years and knows a bit more than me. I've used guns off and on over the last 5 years, most of which I can't talk about, but I've done hunting and stuff. Which gun is best for self-offense? My friend said AR or an AK, but I'm kinda on the fence about those, mostly because of price and whatnot. I just told him it feels like cheating when the gun does most of the work (all you do is pull a trigger) and you don't feel the emotion when the target goes down like that. Like "it doesn't feel personal" but with a Sig or a shoytoy you feel like you've really done personal damage to the target is what I'm saying. He doesn't agree and says an AR is probably best. But what do you think /k/?

What the fuck is self offense? Unless you are in law enforcement that is illegal and the percentage of you ever shooting and killing someone in real life as a citizen is extremely low. Much more so multiple people. A gay argument over "fairness and earning it" doesn't even matter. It will never happen. Unless you are talking about hunting
