You just justified having better mortar teams integrated into every squad, maybe something like an advanced version of the Japanese Knee Mortar.
Not going to a fat-ass battle rifle.
Why would you sight a target out with a drone, and then shoot at them with a gun. Instead of taking advantage of that to fuck their whole life up with mortar fire?

it's just M4 but in bigger caliber, mechanically nothing changes.

ColtCanada manufactures all the service rifles for the military and has contracts with foreign militaries to supply guns like the C8. They likely want to keep their lucrative contract intact and generate a little more revenue. They've already been suckling from the Canadian taxpayer teat for years, this is just another opportunity to show they're loyal servants to the Liberal dictatorship.

I was considering a CZ 457 up until I read this a few minutes ago. All CZ guns are off the table if they go through with this.

kilowatts are a normal unit of measurement. your electricity bill is measured in kilowatts. even megawatts, the next step up, is a completely normal unit of measurement (they're used to express the output of power plants). just because you've never thought about this subject until this exact moment does not mean that everyone else in the world is as ignorant as you. your mom knows what a kilowatt is

Only Signature / Marfione specials for now, so base price is gonna be 1-1.5k for the entry model. Hopefully there's enough demand to warrant some regular models closer to the price of the Gen3 UT.

7mm rem mag would have addressed the intermediate cartridge problem better and I wouldn’t have to read so many faggots arguing about it.
>>
>>64339898
I know what you mean anon but we're talking about cartridges that can feasibly be used in a select fire infantry rifle. Also belted magnums aren't ideal for multi-small arm mil use (in machine guns for example)
6.5 Creedmoor, 7 Rem Mag are too big for an "intermediate" <--hate the categorizations but here we are cartridge to be used in an infantry rifle, it needs to be sized comparable to the 5.56 OAL
Anyway the OP FN IWS .264 is the most advanced and optimal yet available.
>>
>>64339766
It's a bit smol
264 gets similar BC with more charge volume
>>
>>64340132
The .264/6.5x43mm does seem interesting, but 6.5x39mm/6.5 Grendel has already been outclassed. Grendel belongs in a museum; it has the same BC as 6mm ARC, less flat shooting than 6mm ARC, slower than 6mm ARC, similar bullet weights (90 gr or 108 gr being common); it's just old news. It did do a great job of outperforming 6.8 SPC though.
>>
>>64340204
>outclassed
No, it hasn't.
.30-06 hasn't been "outclassed"
(You) can make an argument that cartridge X outperforms cartridge Y in certain metrics, but each cartridge also has its disadvantages. Barrel burning one of them, but there are others.

6.8 was always a fucking joke. Solution to a 'problem' that never existed

Is anyone developing drone shield?
>drones with proximity fuses that go off when they see something moving quickly towards them) (or something like that) and explosives basically just make an bubble around the ship.
>drones explode whenever they see any incoming missiles
>move out of the way for outgoing
>go back to the shit to recharge, and get replaced by another one when they do it
>alternatively, you could use tethered drones., but that has other issues, i would think
Why aren't we funding this? It seems like a great counter to ASMs

To point out just how insanely effective and efficient this armor layout is:

Ohio SSGNs each carry 154 offensive attack cruise missiles (Tomahawks), and they carry zero defensive armament.

Kirov BCs could only carry 20 offensive missiles (P700s) and had to devote space for about 150 defensive SAMs, despite displacing nearly 50% more than Ohios, to compensate for not having the superior "all or nothing pressure hull water armor" layout.

The Iowa refits displaced nearly 300% more than an Ohio SSGN but only had space for 32 ABL Tomahawks due to the armor and defensive armament (which is what even 16in was, generously, in 1980).

A 100,000t BB in 2030, if it had guns, would probably have fewer offensive missiles than an Ohio. If it didn't have guns then it wouldn't be a BB any more than an Ohio already is, but in that imaginary case my very rough napkin maths based on scaling Iowa and Yamato to 100k tonnes is that you would probably only get 150-200 tomahawk cells anyway, if you were devoting no large VLS space to long range SAMs and if your DEW took up almost no deck space by mostly being festooned on the superstructure and waists.

God the whole thing seems so fucking stupid.

Best ones were steel. Same secret sauce as later 'viking' swords. Makes you wonder why Romans never went with longer swords, seeing that they had the tech to make them. Gauls, on other hand, had long iron swords that bent like spaghetti.
