Buying original weapons from before 1900 is the only way to legally buy cartridge firearms without a license in my country

Based on the photos, it would rate as a very strong NRA "Fine", arguably "Excellent" based on the pristine wood and the high degree of original finish. I would have to see it in person to grade it accurately. Most collectors would be pleased to have this weapon, especially as it is a less common 16ga. The main detractor is the large bark on the side of the frame, but otherwise this is a very nice weapon.
>>
>>64748551
pump handle looks refinished, screw slots look bubbaed, the wrist is almost certainly broken which is why it's been wrapped with string. It's not junk, I bet it's a fine shooter, but it's not some high grade piece that collectors would drool over.
>>
>>64748575
OP's picture is not the firearm on the listing. If you follow the link, you will see that it is a much nicer example. The OP picture is a low "Fair".
>>
>>64748615
My bad, I assumed it was the same gun. Yes, the one in the auction link is a lot nicer.

Yeah, I don't know why OP posted that junker instead of the one he actually is looking at.

it's not outdated garbage at all, but it's also not a super weapon that changes anything. it's an effective way to hit an area target that severely reduces enemy response times and complicates defenses, at extended ranges.

with nuclear warheads, it'd be an utterly terrible thing of mass destruction, just like all mirv'ed irbms in a similar weight class, but it'd never be used in that configuration.

It doesn't matter when you stay inside the normal operating range (the linear portion of the transfer graph) for the amp. Tube amps are only interesting in the way they behave when overdriven.
There's this dude called Richard Clark who has a $10,000 challenge to spot a difference between a tube amp and a digital. No one has won yet.

Hard kill is the only long term solution, even RF drones will have optical lock at range capability with autonomous terminal guidance soon enough meaning they can lock from outside jammer range.

The question becomes what is the best hard kill and we'll see a lot of different things enter service before we know the answer.
Anti-drone drones will be decent for intercepting at range, AAA will be good for point defence, microwaves might get some love depending how much the cube squared law fucks them, lasers will be tried but I have doubts about their all weather capability.

In modern "agile" engine development, you don't redesign the entire compressor just because you increased the turbine's heat tolerance. You adjust the stages or the blading angle. The IHI XF9-1 was already designed for a 1,800°C Turbine Inlet Temperature (TIT) which is world-class. It was built to be pushed. RR leading the hot section means they are likely taking that 1,800°C "skeleton" and using their superior Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) to push it to 2,000°C+. If the IHI compressor already provides the necessary mass flow and core pressure, RR's higher-tolerance hot section simply allows that same compressor to operate at a higher efficiency. You don't throw away a perfectly good aerodynamic design; you "tune" it.
>Do we have the size/weight dimensions of the XFP30? I've not seen them.
Official consortium updates from late 2025 confirm the XFP30 is a "slim-line" high-power engine. RR and IHI have explicitly stated they are moving forward with a centerline engine. In aerospace, "centerline" means the core architecture is fixed. Since IHI had a physical, running 15-ton core (XF9) and RR had a "digital" concept (XG240), the industrial logic to use the physical XF9 core as the centerline is overwhelming for a 2035 deadline.
Also, trying to throw shade on the XF9 that it's a "worse version of the F119" is just proving the overall argument further, the F119 was the "skeleton" for the F135. The XF9 is the "skeleton" for the GCAP engine.

If you honestly think they're using another engine besides the XF9 as the basis for the GCAP engine, what engine are they using? It literally can't be a clean-sheet design based on the timeline for the program.
>>
>>64747695
>RR will design a new core, because that's what has been contracted out to them
You really are retarded.

There is no time for a new core, they need to have the engine running later this year or next year if they want it installed in a prototype by 2030-32 in order to hit the target in-service deadline of 2035.

It would be genuinely impossible to hit that 2035 in-service date if RR is starting from scratch instead of upgrading the XF9.

and other fantasies you can tell yourself as a mentally ill contrarian with no job.

Why wouldn't something like pic related work fine as a "do everything" gun for a person living in the densely forested hills of Appalachia, where the power and ballistic advantage of a rifle simply isn't necessary?
>plinking will be good fun with the naturally subsonic .45
>definitely suitable for home defense
>easy enough to fit in a backpack, or take the can off and carry it on your person
>get some .45 Super for killing deer or hogs, or mess around with round ball loadings for taking small game or for pest control
Yes, it's true that rifles can be had for dirt cheap these days. And it's also true that there is no real reason to limit yourself to just one gun, especially a handgun. But in an autistic min-max fantasy where you literally can only own one gun and it has to be able to be carried 24/7/365, does a suppressed .45 automatic make sense? The only real downside I see here is that this is not the best option for summertime concealed carry in hot climates.

Everything else you can load 44 hotter because the cylinder walls are thicker e.g. SAAs and N frames. 41 Magnum still holds its own for this reason. You can load higher pressures in a model 57 than in a model 29 so you can match the energy with a smaller cartridge with higher sectional density.

Is that a fucking pistol real sight in the red dot cut out? Is PSA inventing a shotgun that can't be used as a shotgun because it has pistol sights for some reason?
the receiver is objectively the worst place to mount a red dot on a shotgun. the best option would be if you could get it low profile on the barrel or as a qd on a side rail like an AK, though the barrel, especially if you can get the bottom of the red dot below the receiver would be great because then you could have a red dot mounted for HD or turkey or if you're in one of the like 3 states that still require slug guns for durr and then you can take off the barrel, the red dot remains zeroed and you can put on a different barrel for birds or clays
I really don't understand this psa 570 thing. it looks like they just designed a gun to compete with turkshit and the mav 88 to be a ghetto blaster for blowing up trash on blm land

Russia has for the first time deployed new strike drones, the 'Geran-5' and 'Geran-4'.
>Russian forces first used the new strike drone 'Geran-5' during attacks on Ukraine in early 2026, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry. The drone is a large jet-powered UAV with a classic aerodynamic design, differing from earlier models.
>The 'Geran-5' has a length of about 6 meters and a wingspan of about 5.5 meters. It is equipped with a Chinese-made turbojet engine, capable of carrying a warhead weighing about 90 kg and hitting targets at a distance of up to 1,000–1,050 km. Its navigation system includes a 12-channel 'Comet' satellite system, a microcomputer-based tracker, and 3G/4G modems.
>According to Ukrainian intelligence, the design of the 'Geran-5' contains elements similar to the Iranian drone Karrar. There are discussions about the possibility of launching this UAV from aircraft, such as the Su-25, and its potential equipping with 'air-to-air' missiles.
>As for the 'Geran-4', it is known that it is an intermediate jet version between the early 'Geran' models and the new 'five'. According to preliminary data, this drone may have a warhead weighing about 50 kg, a speed of 350–500 km/h, a range of up to 950 km, and can also be launched from the Su-25.
>Thus, the 'Geran-5' is a new jet-powered long-range strike UAV, comparable in its characteristics to a cruise missile, while the 'Geran-4' is considered its less powerful predecessor
