This is a PSA that swapping the DAO hammer on an Enfield No2 Mk1, Mk1*, or Mk1** with a spurred one works perfectly fine.
Couldn't find much definitive info about this anywhere, but here's how it looks. Next is adding the hammer nose and eventually refinishing.

Any recommendations for a sub 500$ 357 or if no good options exist for that a 38 special with a 6 inch or possibly snubnose barrel? Looking for something fun and not crazy. Have a crapload of 357 and 38 ammo and only a single action to shoot it in.. fwiw not worried about 38+p. Since I load for 357 I really only load 38 for plinking….

It is better than most digital art handmade in the past 30 years.

>The Pentagon used a secret aircraft painted to look like a civilian plane in its first attack on a boat that the Trump administration said was smuggling drugs, killing 11 people last September, according to officials briefed on the matter. The aircraft also carried its munitions inside the fuselage, rather than visibly under its wings, they said.
https://www.nytimes.com/2026/01/12/us/politics/us-boat-attacks-law.html

But why? What is the tactical advantage of disguising as a civilian aircraft to bomb an unarmed fishing vessel and what kind of aircraft was this that comes with a Cessna body-kit?

"Hotdogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades" (H3VR) did that for me. Han Solo stance shooting is buckets of fun. Also helped speed up my reload times on my AR. It definitely does help your actual shooting to play lots of VR gun games. You also don't need a no fun allowed simulator to get better with shooting via VR. The special controller attachments and gun stocks are nice, but the point is just fucking shoot more lol.

H3VR is probably going to be the best game other than something explicitly meant for training like Ace XR. I prefer getting shot back at versus just regular old range stuff so personally I just stick with shooting giant talking hot dogs. Loads of fun to fight off tacticool sosigs with tacticool voices or zosigs (zombie dogs) with the tourettes guy voice pack in close quarters with guns as close to your HD setup as you can get. Also has a huge desert map for long range practice. Mortar and field gun practice is also lots of fun. Need a mod for actual howitzers and whatnot though unless some got added in the last year.

Porco Rosso might not be the objectively best Ghibli movie, but it sure is my fucking favorite, but then again I'm a sucker for that kind of romanticism.

Off the top of my head:

>John Wick and John Wick 2
The first movie was kino, then the gimmick got old, but as far as gunplay goes it's just fun.
>T-34
It's an atrocious propaganda movie that's so bad you can have so much fun if you watch it ironically. And there are War Thunder-tier tank battles.

Gun-fu: the movie, starring Christian Bale.

Weapons, philosophy, boobs, and a mecha. It has everything.

NTA but no, he isn't. You are writing science fantasy not science fiction. Science fiction is where you take a piece of plausible but unproven and possibly incorrect science or technology and then write a story exploring the effects it would have on how things are done, what form soviety takes etc. Science fantasy is where you do the opposite and fantasize into existence a setting, then weakly grasp around for conditions that make your fantasy setting seem plausible to you.

The fact that you come to an anonymous imageboard for the "science" part of your setting is pretty telling of the fact that your object is fantasy and any exploration of science and technology is completely incidental.

That's a feature, not a bug. They don't want competent armies, because that meams competent leaders who could overthrow them. Besides, with the exception of Iran and Iraq, usually their neighbors don't give a fuck and the military exists to torture civilians and government sinecures to supporters.

Also helps they're a contained problem, the Norks don't really pose a serious threat to their neighbors or our bottom line, they're already in China and Russia's bag so we don't need to intervene to prevent our enemies from gaining ground. Also they're not resource rich so literally no reason to go picking fights beyond letting the worst koreans introduce best korean women to feminist death cults and their men to militant incelism

surrounded by other despots or stinking barbarians that chopped your head off that wandered into their turf

in an age with extremely limited communication and low body counts. So anybody born into the empire could live a relatively hassle free life in their own province that was given large amounts of autonomy as long as they payed their due to Rome. Literacy rates were so low learning to read elevated you to a scholar and all important works ever written were assembled in a single library complex of Alexandria

in modern days all dictatorships degenerate into open tyrants. Combination of high body counts, ease of communication, ease of killing (unorganized, unarmed civilians), wealth of information and creeping paranoia

Why wouldn't something like pic related work fine as a "do everything" gun for a person living in the densely forested hills of Appalachia, where the power and ballistic advantage of a rifle simply isn't necessary?
>plinking will be good fun with the naturally subsonic .45
>definitely suitable for home defense
>easy enough to fit in a backpack, or take the can off and carry it on your person
>get some .45 Super for killing deer or hogs, or mess around with round ball loadings for taking small game or for pest control
Yes, it's true that rifles can be had for dirt cheap these days. And it's also true that there is no real reason to limit yourself to just one gun, especially a handgun. But in an autistic min-max fantasy where you literally can only own one gun and it has to be able to be carried 24/7/365, does a suppressed .45 automatic make sense? The only real downside I see here is that this is not the best option for summertime concealed carry in hot climates.

I don't hate 9mm. One of my favorite cartridges. It just isn't a good woods gun.
>Many states prohibit cartridges like 5.7
True. But usually it would also eliminate 9mm whereas there are states that make exceptions for small game using 22 caliber handguns. So basically most states wouldn't let you take deer with 9mm or 5.7 but some will allow you to shoot 5.7 at small game. There's simply more opportunities for small game as well with the season being significantly longer/year round in many places.

I actually came from 9mm with a 22lr to just going 5.7 because it combined everything I wanted into one gun/cartridge. You can hit daily limit on squirrels using subs then drop hogs, bobcat, coyote with supers on the same outing with nothing more than a magazine change. 9mm simply won't do that. Experience >feelings.

I think the disconnect comes from people fantasizing about black bear defense yet they won't ever even be in the woods since they can't legally access most public land that's restricted to hunters simply because 9mm isn't even legal for game in their state. That's a huge aspect people are too stupid and inexperienced to realize. You want encounter a bear because you are commiting s felony by being on managed public land with a firearm not legal for the purpose of taking game during hunting season.

It's pretty simple when you THINK about it
>>64757171

Revolverfag please, have some respect.

I already told you deer aren't legal to take with a 5.7 in my state. Hogs are and are larger/tougher anyway. It tucks them up just fine.

>>64757199
Yeah fair point. But to me that’s like grabbing 185gr .45ACP +P as a counter to “all .45 is subsonic”. Were both technically correct but that’s not the spirit of the statement and we know that.

Yes—it does answer the post, and fairly directly.

The original post mocks an alleged spec (“62gr bullet at 1000 fps”) to dismiss the concept.

The reply corrects that factual claim (“half that weight at double the velocity”) and explains the intended use case (modularity via magazine change from .22 LR–like to .22 WMR–like performance).

So the response:

Engages the core claim (ballistics),

Refutes it with a counter-assertion,

I am about to import 80,500 of these indian hesbee 22 short single shot handguns. They are currently in transit being shipped from India.

They have sat in storage as they were built in 1959 as gunlaws became more restricted in India.

If you were in my shoes, how do I make this business venture successful.

I purchased each pistol at 2160 rupees (around 24$) and they cost me ($1500 for import and $5000 in shipping) so i am in for abit under $2mil.

Do you think people will actually buy these or should I put my house for sale ASAP?

Having read so far, some top ideas.

I'll add:
- sell here on /k/ marketplace, give is a special deal you can afford for a couple weeks or the first hundred you sell here or something

- set price at $75/$80 for a single unit, but price break for people who buy 5 at a time, like $250 or $300

(You) CAN document these are virgin, original 1959 manufacture, right? That makes them unusual collectables, so don't undersell yourself too far. If you're not getting action, put some on temporary price reduction every now and then at random shake up your market and get your buyers looking & waiting for discounts. The raffle idea is pretty solid, too.
