What was the worst military you worked with?
>>65049464>Ho Chi Minh quite liked the yanks before they got involved, seeing the US's war for independence as a parallel of Vietnam's historic struggle to gain and maintain their own independence. So did the Poles and they too got fucked over
>>65023713checks out
>>65049458the indochina monographs series, especially "south vietnamese society"
>>65041289>The US especially has this retarded concept that conscription necessarily means anally raping people for two weeks as "training" and then sending them to storm machineguns with one man carrying a rifle and another man carrying 5 rounds of ammo. You can conscript people and also give them good military training, you know. The fuck are you on about? Are you talking about Russia?
Sweet larp threadVery demoralizing
thoughts on their kit?could they hold the hormuz coast against usa marines?
this will not bring the armata back
>>65051133why not?
What are chasseurs chasing?
America is woefully behind the curve when it comes to the modern drone saturated battlefieldAmerica is stuck between a total war mindset they'll never conduct and a runaway military industrial complex making weapons too expensive to use or lose and in numbers too small to be effectiveA fucking tank montage, what a fucking joke
>>65051211Bait or retarded, call it
trying to find a picture posted years ago. it showed two fully loaded sturdy safes side by side in someone's basement. also safe thread
Seriously, you could fit everything in there, you could make the front half just for regular shit like ur lawnmower and partition the back 4 feet for your guns.
>>65050878>>65050879>what if instead of putting your guns in a safe you put them in a big heavy box with a tough doorwow. almost like a safe isn't it? except for the fact it doesn't have a fucking lock
>>65050915Also has external hinges and just in general is not designed for protection from criminals but from the environment. But see >>65050706, a lot of people on /k/ with lots of guns are also rural and the risk factors are indeed environmental. People breaking into barns is very rare, barns burning down sadly is not. A properly placed storm shelter, maybe with a camera and extra lock or something added on, doesn't seem like the worst idea for something durable where you could put a lot of stuff for not too much money.
>>65050706>If it's easy to get in it's easy to get out. There are holes in the back on 16" centers so they can be bolted to the wall studs. Most burglaries are quick smash-and-grabs carried out by crackheads, if an actual skilled burglar wants your shit, a big gun safe isn't going to stop him.

This was made to the best ability of the sources I had access to but I'm including all kinds of Aircraft>shot-down>damaged>hit with missiles on the ground
>>65050907>>65051121Yes, I specified legacy 4th gen airframes. Still the same late-cold-war buildup as used by the majority of global air forces. I'm not the one trying to move goalposts here.
>>65050278The ones that can fly probably fled abroad
>>65051134I'm not the person you were talking to. I just think its fucked you want to compare apples to oranges while claiming an equivalency between recon drones and manned aircraft. Also, still waiting on >>650511135 hours must surely qualify as "a min"
>>65050180>19 fixed-wing>the past two days have been all about the spam of one singular aircraftAs usual, just like when Hamas claims "200 Merkavas destroyed" but only produces two 144p videos shot at 500m, the thirdies love to lie. Two more weeks until Israel gives up, we promise :)
>>65051162Because it's not apples to oranges, a large recon drone has the same nominal airframe value (typically 30m+/-15 for the anons who fail to understand I was not seeking to compare specific models and capability) as the fighter jets in common use.

Dude. I literally emailed Les Baer about making a double stack if I supply a JEM frame and they said no. Few months later? They make double stacks with JEM frames.
>>65050900https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1167696135
>>65050904I mean I shouldn’t even be mad, it’s not like it was a secret patentable idea or anything. But why did they tell me no, then do the thing I wanted them to do? I probably would have told them fuck no at this price though if I was supplying the frame already Like this is less than 2k in parts ignoring the optic. They make stuff in house I believe so it’s even less.

>>65049677that range is called the ghetto anon. it's a magical place.
Why didnt eastern swords have handguards? They used swords for far longer than europe because they didnt learn about guns yet so how come their sword tech is still so shit? I hear that they are all horse archers but surely they have to dismount and fight after running out of arrows.

>>65050862At least in my part of Burgerland, Northern Europe is usually closer to being Germany/Scandinavia more than anything else. I guess a lot of it is a series of overlapping venn diagrams between what you consider part of what region. I just wanted to clarify because in my own areas of study, the alps represents the big cultural demarcation for different spheres of fashion and development such as the 15/16th centuries where you had Spanish, Italian, and Franco-Burgundian courts all being the prime centers of culture (up until Charles V gets transalpine power) and didn't want people to think I meant Northern Europe as in like upper Scotland and Iceland.

f16 is going to be in service for over a century isnt it
>>65049913>look at fighter plane from any era>it's just a large engine wrapped in a small airframe
>>65050011>radars are (at least for F-15EX and latest block F-16V) about equivalentnot even close, F-15's radar is twice the size. the only question here is whether both planes' radars are more than capable enough in any combat scenario they'd find themselves in against each other since they're both non-stealthy 4th gens with state of the art electronics in them.>>65049917sure, they carry the same armanents and have their own advantages when maneuvering, with F-15 being better in BVR due to superior acceleration, top speed and climb rate while F-16 being a more nimble dogfighter, but not to a very large extent.what F-15 is massively superior in is combat range, which is several times that of the F-16, especially carrying a substantial payload. this allows the planes to cover a greater area deeper into enemy territory for air superiority and strike missions.
>>65049917>>65049925>>65050011Real issue is that the latest gens of each are strike aircraft, AKA missile/bomb trucks. They will hold their own against anything not from the west but get bounced on by dedicated fighters or even F35.

I haven't seen one in a good while. I'm seriously thinking about buying an AUG soon so I'd like some advice. I know there's both 5.56 and .300 blackout variants to choose from and I'm leaning towards the .300 and just using supersonic ammunition. AUGs are notable for being poor suppressor hosts anyways, right? Plus, prices for supersonic .300 aren't that bad according to AmmoSeek when compared to 75/77gr 5.56 which I already buy. Plus if I ever change my mind about .300 I could just buy a 5.56 barrel.
>>65035618>you can't actually hold it like you do with other pistol grip guns, because then your arm will bang onto the magazine constantlywut
>>65038472They were banned because of how many were being imported. There are probably millions of Type 56 in the US, from the 80s.
>>65046300You don't really have to worry about that.

Here in the UK, we really don't understand Americas obsession with weapons. Not just weapons, but assault weapons with 15 round magazine capacity. What the devil do you need those for?
