M110 is decent but silencer tuning is a bit harder than a SCAR or AR 15 even. AGB ruins the look and heaviest buffer and spring often aren't enough with super hot match ammo while I just click the SCARs gas selector once or twice to get the setting I want. KAC also charges over a grand for a re barrel which I have to do around every 10-15k rounds because the barrel is unlined. The URX 2 and M110 profile barrel make the gun retardly heavy as well. The M110 does shoot super smooth though. Its like a sewing machine when you rapid fire.

When the Geran/Shahed drones first appeared, I figured Russia would use them smartly in a classic SEAD/DEAD role: send waves of them to force Ukrainian IADS to light up radars and reveal positions, then follow up with VKS aircraft, with anti-radiation missiles to systematically dismantle those defenses.

Russia instead has chosen the most brain-dead and wasteful approach, by treating the Geran/Shaheds s as nothing more than slow, low-cost cruise missiles hurled directly at static infrastructure targets, while leaving the overwhelming majority of Ukraine's air defenses intact and free to keep operating.

They're banking entirely on brute-force volume and saturation to get a few through, completely abandoning any effort at SEAD/DEAD. But the thing is that they're not even achieving any kind of saturation effect since, the launches are scattered haphazardly across random cities, regions, and targets all over Ukraine that changes every night (some they they go after energy infrastructure, some other go after some depots, some others they try to hit some cities...), instead of making up their minds and concentrate them single high-value area, frontline sector, or even one major city at a time, and keep hitting them until achieving disruption or collapse. This is also precisely why so few targets are actually hit despite hundreds being launched every night, and so many of them are intercepted.

By contrast, even in the recent U.S. operation in Venezuela, the LUCAS drones (the American Shahed clones) were properly integrated into a coordinated SEAD/DEAD package.

Russian SEAD doctrine is at most jsut htem putting one or two anti-radiation missiles on a strike plattform so it can launch them when engaged by a SAM. That's btw literally what the US was doing once upon a time. Before they realised that it's completely inadequate. During the freakin' Vietnam War.

Yes, Russias SEAD doctrine is literally pre-Vietnam tier.

my employer is sending me to the ghetto next few weeks. I have a few boxes of match ammo at my disposal and nothing else. how viable would it be in a self defense situation?
>>
>>64754900
They're bullets anon, whoever you end up blasting isn't going to enjoy it
>>
>>64754900
I'm confused, are you too poor to afford a box of 9mm? What firearm?
>>
>>64754900
On the one hand, it's a bullet. It will put a hole in someone if you shoot them with it. On the other, that's not exactly an ideal load to carry, for several reasons.

Most "match" ammunition is loaded to just above the minimum velocity and energy levels required to meet most "power factor" requirements, so that the shooter can focus on pulling the trigger and not managing recoil. They're also usually loaded with light round nose bullets. They won't expand, and they won't have a lot of ass behind them.

If you're really worried, just go buy about 50 defensive loads, shoot a couple magazines so you aren't surprised by the recoil in an emergency, and then carry the rest in your gun. They're not that expensive if you aren't blowing them in bulk shooting drills with them.

I just got a high paying job and in celebration I'm going to update my arsenal. Pls give input on my choices for these roles and let me know if there's something better:

>Ruger SFAR as main DMR rifle, open to other short receiver .308 ARs or a .308 bullpup
>M&P9 or 10mm Witness as handgun, I do live in grizzly country and this will be my primary HD/clearing gun
>Kel Tec RDB as building clearing/HD rifle
>KSG as HD shotgun
>Mossberg Aftershock as drone gun to be worn on a scabbard, can also double as bear gun with slugs
>300WM rifle as sniper (undecided but either a cheapo Savage bolty or go all in and get a Desert Tech SRS for $6k)

Already have my carry guns set and most of the common rifles for range funs but want specific ones that best fill those roles. What are your go-to's?

>>
>>64753795
I've never had a gun break except an SCCY and Mossberg. It's not really a thing that happens. My rifle isn't going to blow up because it has a Ruger rollmark on it. Even the Kel Tecs aren't at risk of detonating. You don't need to spend thousands for a gun to work, they're not hard to make. It's like 1500s technology. Just avoid late stage capitalism cheap outs like plastic parts and it should be fine. I'm not really planning on bringing the Kel Tecs to war though. All those have to do is put down like 4 monkeys tops if they break into my house.
>>
>>64753902
get a mp5 with a can because it's fun and cheap to shoot
>>
>>64753766
Not to be autistic, but a 10" is also too loud, the flash is too great, and concedes both terminal ballistics unless the right ammo is used and also concedes a lot of AP capability if your opponent is wearing plates. Plates are cheaper than they've basically ever been and they are increasingly mainstream. Obviously train for failure drills (in the dick!) but it's still an issue to be contended with.
M855 does not reliably pop all PE plates for example at low velocities. It reliably punches through 98% of them at over 3,000ft/s.

For another, unrelated thought, it just got found out in /gq/ and it raised a huge shitstir that the budget Level IV plate everyone has been using, the Hesco 4403, has basically no headroom above Level IV spec and M2AP reloaded just 20-30ft/s above NIJ spec (2,910ft/s) will pen a conditioned plate. Anon getting a long schlong .300 winmag and learning to reload would fulfill that larp fantasy nicely.

After taking some input, I think a wlvrn might be best for me. The sfar doesn't seem to be the most accurate for an AR, and I've heard that the wlvrn is one of the most accurate piston driven systems that exist. It satisfies my short bullpup/clearing rifle role, and can be caliber swapped if I feel I need something specialized without having to confuse my manual of arms.

Also does anyone know why they stopped doing the forward ejection version? Was it really that unreliable or should I hunt a used one down?

>>
>>64754260
I don't think anyone said the F-35 was shit, it has problems and there's things it can't do but at least to me it was always clearly a capable aircraft. The problem is the fucking cost, which was and remains way too fucking much for what it is, and the insanely long development time. It's not a waste of money because it's bad, it's a waste of money because the DoD is absolutely fucking whipped by the military-industrial complex and will happily pay daddy Lockheed and uncle Martin however many kerjillion burgers they demand over however many years they stall for. And it happened again with the fucking NGSW program and the absolute travesty that is the Sig Saar XM7. If you live in America and pay taxes you should be pissed the fuck off by that, because they're wasting YOUR money.

Yeah the story behind it is interesting. An American was working in Slovakia and found a hobo sleeping inside the statue at a junkyard. He liked it because the artist actually made it slightly out of spec by including guns and bayonets on it (see bottom right). Lenin was supposed to be presented in art as an intellectual, not a warmonger. He bought it and had it shipped home so he could use it as a curio in front of a restaurant he was going to open. Sadly he died soon after this and Lenin never got to promote a diner. The family tried to sell it to a foundry but they declined and so it went up in the hopes that somebody would buy it. It's still for sale, so if anyone really hates Lenin, just buy it and turn it into Funko pops or something. It's not even that expensive, like $250k.
>>
>>64754031
