I can get parts straight from Ural though. Even for the older sidevalve engines parts are still not only being made, but quite cheap and easy to come by.
The Izh is a bit of a handful though as they don't really make parts for the two cylinder models anymore, a lot of parts from the single cylinder model fit, but good quality original Soviet crankshafts for example are getting a bit hard to come by nowadays, same for pistons.
Chinks do offer them from time to time, but they're usually of subpar quality even for chinkshit.

That's kind of a red flag, if it only needs a starter relay, why doesn't he spend the $10 and buy one and fix it? I would be going over that with a fine tooth comb if you do look at it.

If a post starts with
>Just needs [$10-$50 part]
>Ran when parked good to go with a carb clean
>No title but can write a bill of sale!
I close the listing. If that bike is not going for $100 I would not even piss next to it and it's very annoying. It should be illegal to sell a bike that is potentially deadly without having a shop sell it.
My favorite story is when I bought an old bike some old bastard thought he was being slick with for $500 and ended up getting raped at the DMV because he was retarded enough to let it sit for years without registering it to his name and sitting on the title. So when the bill for $450 came up and he swiveled towards me I laughed, shook my head, and pointed at him and he harrumphed and gave them the money I just gave him.

If your espresso is coming out of your machine lukewarm then something is wrong with the machine. If it’s just getting cold fast it could be because you’re not preheating your cup properly. Ceramic cups have a ton of thermal mass and will rob the espresso of it’s heat very quickly.

Nah it’s not like that, she has her own really cool interests and we have plenty of great conversation, love her to death.
Besides I’d rather leave bike talk for the buds, I’m much more interested in learning more from other people than I am teaching what little I know to other people.
>Thought so but you never know
You’ve my guarantee I’ll never talk like that lmfao
Anyways need to meet more motorcycle people in person, reading online it seems like a super social hobby but I just can’t seem to meet anybody while out riding. Conversations are always a few sentences long and then they take off, either that or they’re very intimidating. Idk how you guys do it

It's a boomer bike and boomers have money, so they don't buy 50 year old clapped out jap shit.
>>
>>28029911
As someone who dropped as much as this guy did and then scrapped it,
#1 the maintenance is expensive. I mean this in terms of parts. They aren't made anymore and so the parts aren't made. So you either run to a scrap yard when something breaks every 3 months, or you buy Chinese parts every 3 months.
#2 anything you do, you're doing it on your own. Bike shops fall into two categories with oldwings, they either flat out refuse to work on them because it's a carbed bike with its own timing belt and trim and fairings that makes a sport bike seem naked in comparison. Or they're a scam artist who will give you an absurd quote and then hand you back a broken bike and a fuck you. A simple tire change requires everything up to the fake gas tank to be removed.
#3 they were luxury vehicles like Cadillacs, that means while they're super cheap they often get neglected due to poor maintenance and then the whole bike spoils like milk. This was the boomer mindset of course
I miss mine but I had so many problems with mine that when it blew a head gasket I traded it in for $500 credit

My SLR650 has a variation of the same engine.
It can handle the highway fine, 130kmh is its practical limit, can go to 150 on a good day (literally, carbs are carbs).

But if you plan to use it for a highway commute, you clearly don't love yourself.

If so then jumping the relay will power the starter. Any car or truck relay will do. For example older Harleys used the same solenoid style relay as Ford trucks for many years and those would work fine. Cheap at local auto stores or online.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/191803015338 is the typical style since the 1970s at least.

So will a manual bypass switch which you can retain as backup. Ensure your battery power and ground cables are good and connections not corroded. If in doubt, replace as it's easy to make your own.

'25 MY trident looks sweet, they finally added cruise control.
I hate that the seat assaults my crotch and the vibes destroy my right hand, but this bike is weirdly appealing.
>>
>>28029402
>>Ran when parked good to go with a carb clean

I bring a jump pack and compression tester and get 'em cheap that way because carb cleanings are expensive to pay for which drops the price. Then I strip and dip the carbs for a few bucks in Pine-Sol and whatever any seals I need cost. I love carbs.

Convenience tip, get an IV bag pole (cheap enough new to be worth it, I have two) and something like a black plastic mower tank (black resists UV, white = shit) and a decent inline fuel valve like

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0817GZ4YQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

That gives you a test tank so you can set your bike tank aside during start attempts/test runs after you get it home.

Remove exhaust. Remove tag and discard. Have exhaust sandblasted (I used my local monument shop for year as all of them have killer blast rigs and engine driven compressors) then bag it with trash bags to keep off fingerprints etc.

Paint with paint of choice. I usually use BBQ black paint which is easy to touch up. Method is older than we are.

Noobs may wish to screenshot this:
I and others use UNDILUTED Pine-Sol (not generic pine oil) and brush of your choice to agitate visible soils. I leave mine at least over night. Cover your pail or tub or place outdoors because pine smell. I leave my stainless pots in my kitchen sink (which has aftermarket strainers in case I drop anything small).

When carb is assumed clean, place in a pot of HOT water (use your stove etc) and slosh the carb body around. I use long forceps (also great for fishing carb intake boot clamps around on the bike) and wear nitrile disposable gloves for protection and convenience. Then blow out carb with compressed air (get rubber tipped blowgun to seal against orifices), blow out passages. then blow out again with cheap carb cleaner I buy by the box at Walmart.

I teardown and build up carbs etc on a baking sheet indoors under BRIGHT light and use cheap clear fishing tackle boxes with removable dividers to separate parts.

If you have a low speed jet etc that's varnished shut, you can hold it with forceps (close to your tray so you don't lose it) and hold a lighter or butane torch beneath until the varnish extrudes like a cute little rat turd. Blow away ash (puff of breath works fine and won't launch the part like compressed air).

To get small parts out of the solution I put them coffee strainer (metal screen kind) then place in a stainless pot. After cleaning I pour off the solution into a funnel (they're nice for holding strainers) through that or another strainer then rinse small loose parts in hot water. I strain the Pine Sol back into its jugs or if I'm done with it I pour it down the sink and leave it a while since it breaks up soapy pipe film. Sometimes I use it to mop my floor first because why not?

I've used all the good old cleaners like the original Hydro-Seal with methylene chloride (which was amazing) and Pine-Sol works as good or better than the weak shit they sell today. It's safe and useful to use indoors.

I have, they have some new old stock parts and a lot of chinese parts.
My main issue with chink parts is that the conrods big end lacks the oil valley at the bottom, the Izh doesn't have an oil pump, just splash lubrication and it's not enough for a sealed design like this.
I had pic related on my bike and they lasted for about 5000km before the right one started to seize.

However, the producers, including Neal H. who the fuck wanted that? Its literally just trying to copy the RS660 without offering a proper supersport.

Christ hope it's not oil didn't spill into combustion chamber. Sounds expensive with new tail and possibly subframe. My pathetic 150 isn't fast enough to delete the front strip

I’m in a weird time of year where there is 35 degree swings every day so my tires are dangerously under inflated in the cold of the morning and if I put more air in them to compensate then they are dangerously overinflated by the time it warms up in the afternoon.

The nx500/cb500x still seem like the best things for me on paper. Honestly go transalp or Africa twin based off which you fit on better.

>>28030451
Every vtr250 I come across has been through a lot. Cool bikes but they are beat to shit and need more care than their shadow counterparts simply because of the owners.

I wanted a cowl for the light not fairings for the sides of the engine. I wonder if I should still attach them

>150 isn't fast enough to delete the front strip
Your 150 probably has got a narrower tire, so it needs less lean by design. It's also lighter, so needs less lean by design. That's why a narrow tire without/ with small chicken strips has more bragging rights than a fat tire, because it's really being pushed to the edge.

What are the differences between the daytona 675 and 660? Why do people who like the 675 seem disappointed in the 660?
>>
>>28031291
it's fifteen smaller, very sad
>>
>>28031291
>>28031294
Yup, it's like half an inch off your penis.
>>
>>28031291
It's based on a street bike engine from the Trident/Tiger 660 instead of the old Daytona engines like the Street Triple 675. It has raised clipons and a less butt-in-air rider triangle. It's not a supersport.

But really that's fine for most people. 675simps are just mad they didn't get their waifu back.

seems to be a fairly nice power gradient.
30hp - 60hp - 100hp - 175hp
>>
>>28031308
If each R gives roughly 10 HP then how did they squeeze 175 out of the R1?

gixxerbrah is alright if you like squiddy content
20 minutes from Colorado Springs to Denver is a modern classic and he milks the clout by putting clips from the news coverage in his intro
