For me, the other player can put it anywhere behind the line on the table, but they have to hit it down the table and it has to cross the line. So you can't put it in front of a ball that's right over a pocket and then pot that. If you wanted to do that, you'd have to hit it off the opposite cushion.Similarly, if you foul, your opponent gets two shots, obviously. But if they don't need two shots to pot another ball, does the extra shot carry until they need it? (No). And do you get two shots on the black? (Of course not).
