I'm really glad for De Lie winning the Belgian championships, I know it may seem insignificant but there are a lot of big riders that never won it like GVA and at least he can cross that off the list and ride with flag bands forever

I also found his sprint very impressive, typical de lie really, very long and powerful and from the front and yet nobody could pass him. Should give him confidence for the Tour de France hopefully.

He was also very emotional, to me a funny interview on sporza. Belgium is bilingual and qporza is flemish but De Lie is wallonian (but with good durch). He was asked by sporza (in french) for his thoughts and he replied in Dutch: Ik heb geen woord (I am speechless). Then the interviewer said you can do it in French and he said the same but in French and then broke into tears. Very nice winner and interview, but that was kind of funny

My thoughts are Lotto played him and the other favorites like a fiddle with that late attack (3-4km before the line) by Wout and co on that hill must’ve consumed alot of energy, De Lie didn’t follow and they had 6-7 lotto guys left and slurped them up after the hill. They had great numerical advantage and used it quite well.

> Trust is easily lost and difficult to regain. I needed a few mental breakdowns this year to realise that yes, my right leg is actually very very fucked. And I keep ignoring it, taking a few days off because I am 'sure it gets better' and repeating the cycle of 1 good week, 2 terrible weeks. I keep telling myself (and others) I just need to get into the flow of training and then I'm ready to race. Flow never comes.

Some people who ride ebikes (which I think is fine and not something to villify) feel very self conscious about them and when you tell them hey man I see you got an ebike they're like "yes... TECHNICALLY it's an ebike but I always ride on eco mode and I always work up a really intense session" so it could be one of those guys. Although if it's a spedelec they are unlimited so a TT bars will turn it from very fast into even faster

Race was great today, Askey final move wasn't great bit not much else he could do. It was a clumsy attack too, he was over geared and it was too obvious. Walker had a great race. Saltburn is a beautiful place, circuit was tough. Stood in the same spot the whole race, good view though.

Apparently steepest was 22%. It kicks up at the next hairpin again, really steep. Was a laugh watching busses go up and down. Interesting to watch because many amateur riders rode the hill faster than pros did most of the time. Goes to show repeating the efforts is what makes you good, not a blistering pace.

>“It's simply terribly tragic,” says Catherine, after receiving 'Wiggo' on Father's Day so he could see the children again and letting him spend the night there. “I hope people will finally show compassion instead of condemning him. Because the situation is really bad: often I don't even know where he sleeps,” said Catherine, who also says she still supports Wiggins. “When you love someone so much, love never completely disappears.”

>Recently, 'The Sun' wrote that Wiggins was accused of 'dumping' a camper that he had received from Volkswagen to advertise on social media on a farm. He had never advertised it. Via the tracker in the camper, the vehicle was found heavily contaminated in a fleet.

He needs to tell him "you'll never be as good as your dad" but then again he already said he is better than himself at that age.
