>>97247132>That's your bias then, so of course you think IM is subpar.>I truly don't care who likes which RPG in these threads.>obsession with FFGYou have the bias. IM has no fans because of its horrendous 1.0 PDF, its underwhelming rules (like poor xp advancement and its overall action flick mechanics), lackluster setting that's worse than Askellon, poor writing of prose, lore and mechanics, and no interesting developments many years after release. The rulebook still lacks an index, took years to "fix" the missing phenomena result on the table, and I assume it still mentions the character goal table because people know C7 didn't give a shit until two days ago.You can say that IM is good in spite of all of the above. But you are not the illuminated one here.I wanted to post the all of the above before but >I'm gonna let you sit back and think on that one for a while. Is still the perfect response.

Down in Florida though, can't say I've seen any or any superstitions though some of the natives swear on the trickster spirits too when they aren't drunk or gambling.>>97249762Why is three so important?
>>97249851Full disclosure about three: no one knows. Catholicism and its various branches will point to religious connotations(father, son, and spirit), I have no idea about other religions. Mystics would emphasis that the action of doing things thrice is a certainty you're impressing upon reality. The more numerology inclined scholars could point to three being a "sacred" prime number though they would struggle to explain the sanctity. Bureaucracy's need for triplicate was for simplicity's sake; one for you, one for their on-site files, and one for the archive. One of the oldest recorded protections against the fairer folk came from the Norse and the Fairest were the only beings that warranted threefold protections out of all their enemies. As one can derive from these examples, and others if one researches, is that three allows for a fortification of form and function. You do things three times because you want it done strong, done right, and done forever.Four has a similar effect though it seems to be more about empowering in an offensive connotation. You bless your bullets four times, in groups of four, and the ritual will make the damage twice as much no matter their size.
>>97249622They're good at hiding amongst humans, better than other monsters. They're schemers, cursing their victims insteady of attacking them directly (mostly). >>97250462Damage is roughly correlated with the square root of kinetic energy. Moving twice as fast means four times as much kinetic energy, which means twice as much damage. Damage is roughly correlated with Striking ST, so that means roughly twice as much Striking ST as whatever you had before.
>>97250462RAW, ATR doesn't improve damage, unless you're attempting a Slam. If you take twice as many Move maneuvers per turn, then that doubles your effective velocity for a Slam, which means double damage. Striking ST has no effect on Slam damage, only HP.

ATR is about animation cancels, anon.>>97246815>they should be able to purchase the exact same hacking skill at a cheaper point cost.No. GURPS suggests restricting skill acquisition depending on the game world. The training rules suggest that a teacher can only help a character raise his skill up to the teacher's relative skill, or to invest as many points as the teacher has in a skill. So only hackers from the hacker faction can raise Hacking to IQ+3 for example. If you offer discounts some players will have more points to put elsewhere, which can absolutely unbalance PCs and seed discontent in the party.
>>97246815>1) how to account for certain factions being better at certain subjects?Access. Let's think in terms of C&C Generals.US is better at Air Superiority not because they can buy Engineer (High-Performance Airplane) for cheap but because they have access to it at all. US has widespread education that allows engineers to be formed, and heavy investment in aerospace to make said engineers specializing in High-Performance Airplane worth it, not to mention more know-how and trade secrets (higher skill level).

>>97250790Everything except flaming sword and storm call in elementalism is fantastic for beastmen. The vortex in particular is just a straight up better fanatic cause it can't hurt your own guys, and you ignore the difficult terrain part. Plonk it down an inch in front of your guys and march right up to the enemy. They either need to charge through it, or let you charge through it next turn. All 3 signature beast spells have significant use cases. Sure everyone talks about Viletide, but its actual kill rate WITH hagtree is usually the same as a fireball used against you. Devolve can obliterate some armies, and Ghorok is just one of the best "assailant" spells in the game.

In all seriousness, how can you get yourself to enjoy playing games when /tg/ players are so insufferable, socially and aesthetically in real life >try to play 40k >it's all actual obese autists with animes T shirts and don't understand the concept of an inside voice >try to play RPGs>It's fat 40 year olds with goatee or ungroomed beard and shaved head, marvel T shirt and jorts and wearing those weird flat Irish hats >visit LGS on card gaming night >take one whiff and immediately turn around and leave It's actually distressing because I want to actually get to play in the hobby I love so much, but it doesn't seem to be possible if you can't find normal people to play with Solution?
The issue for me is that the average fa/tg/uy is extremely thin skinned.Either you MUST do what they envisioned if they're the GM or you MUST let them do whatever the fuck they want if they're the player. It also gets bad when the GM basically acts like a janitor thinking they got any power, like we're not all just playing a social game together but rather they are the leader of the group. The worse though getting hung up on shit, like you say or do something that upsets them and they will seethe their entire life, literally just thinking about what you did until they can get back at you. It's just so unpleasant, I'm sorry but the majority of you retards are simply the absolute worst, I had way better luck picking players and games randomly online than focusing on this board.
>>97250075Should have found your groups within friends you made in high school and college and clung to them for dear life.

>>97250183>>97250216Then you're the weird one. Usually you share interest with your friends, and if tabletop games aren't one of them is because you're the weirdo in your friend group.
>>97250754That is tautologically true if you define normal people as people who don't like RPGs. Employed, socially functional people with families and hobbies aside from /tg/ do play games, though.

>>97250526scale differences and legal consequences?
>>97250527Are you sure?lexicanum paints an even more drastic connection than I was implying going by memory >Khainite Shadowstalkers are Morathi's trusted assassins and saboteurs. Chosen from the Daughters of Khaine, each is branded with the shademark, a sorcerous pact that grants supernatural abilities while binding their souls to the Shadow Queen’s eternal servitude. >Each Shadowstalker has been hand-picked by Morathi to receive the mircath, the ‘shademark’, a brand woven from Ulguan sorcery. Binding their soul eternally to Morathi's service, but it that allows them to wield the night as a weapon and to travel the Umbral Web, a pattern of shadow magic that connects each of the Eight Realms; they can slip past almost any barrier both physical and magical. However, travelling these dark paths causes them to be more pallid and wraith-like with every journey, quickening their demise until they are nothing more but a living shadow trapped inside the Umbral Web. Some even forge pacts with shadow daemons, becoming one with the darkness and bleeding abyssal nothingness when cut, and gain the power to command the shadows of their target to throttle their owner or stab them in the back with blades formed from their own shadow. While becoming a Shadowstalker is considered a great honour, it also allows Morathi to dispose of Khainites she considers a potential threat.>Shadowstalkers are bound to Morathi more so than the rest of the cult of Khaine. Their position leaves little room for individuality among its member, leaving them isolated from the broader culture of the Sisterhood of Khaine. Despite this, the Khainite Shadowstalkers are the most devote of his followers, representing the peak of the khainite art of murder.
