>What is Exalted?
An epic high-flying role-playing game about reborn god-heroes in a world that turned on them.
Start here:http://theonyxpath.com/category/worlds/exalted/

>That sounds cool, how can I get into it?
Read the 3e core book (link below). For mechanics of the old edition, play this tutorial:http://mengtzu.github.io/exalted/sakuya.html
It’ll get you familiar with most of the mechanics.

It's still kind of funny to me that Sidereals didn't get nearly as mistreated as Lunars during the First Age, and by all accounts were treated about as respectfully as a First Age Solar could treat an inferior. You would think there would be at least one or two accounts of Solar and Sidereal hubris clashing, but nope.

>>
>>97826890
Yeah I think they just really doubled down on the grim dark overplayed month python jokes for bretonnia before ultimately forgetting they exist. Which sucks because I feel like a lot more cool fantastical shit could be done with bretonnia rather than “le nobles so mean lolz!”. I still want the kidnapped boys to be badass spellblades and for them to ride more cool monsters
>>
It’s a little annoying that the Chaos Warriors are seemingly the only true faceless armored dudes available since Foot Knights have their eyes visible through their visors. I think if you liked heavy armored fantasy dudes that full faceless look is important, though it explains the popularity of Chaos historically.

>I still want the kidnapped boys to be badass spellblades and for them to ride more cool monsters
Based knower. I hope they get models some day, would make for a really cool campaign scenario.
>>
>>97827062
See that would be cool. In general it just feels like not much is done with bretonnia when it could be so much cooler but they’re limited by GW treating them like a joke faction. I have some hope though since they were a TOW launch army

>Does your character rape?
If a character tried to rape, I'd ask for their character sheet. They are now an NPC. Player isn't invited back.

>How is rape in your setting?
It exists. Rarely implied as having happened. Never graphically represented.

>How often do you rape your players?

>Cyberpunk 2020 vs. Cyberpunk RED?
Cyberpunk 2020 is the second edition of the Cyberpunk TTRPG by R. Talsorian Games, set in a (then) future inspired by film noir and the dark science fiction films and books of the late 20th century. It focuses on simulationist gameplay and lethal near-future combat.

Cyberpunk RED is the latest edition of the Cyberpunk TTRPG, set after the devastating Fourth Corporate War. It focuses on more balanced, streamlined gameplay and is currently supported by R. Talsorian Games.

It'd be more basic, but you could try taking the existing Wizard kits and reworking those into specialist variants. Some of them already have barred schools, or otherwise lean towards a specialty. It might be relatively simple to line up the Witch kit with Conjuration specialization with both having Con requirements, where the Witch offers a free familiar starting at 3rd level, as an example.

Any property humans have, mental or physical, is likely to be average among sapient species. There is no reasonable justification to expect anything. Any option other than average is by definition less probable than the average, and in the absence of examples, the most probable assumption is the only reasonable one (again, tautological).

That's true, I also enjoy the concept, it's very unique and very true to D&D's Sword and Sorcery roots; science fantasy is cool and I think proper science fantasy is kind of underrated still, but literal, outright "fantasy in space" is even less represented.

I've stopped playing D&D and am now a GURPSfag, but I have played some Forgotten Realms and Spelljammer in GURPS using GURPS Dungeon Fantasy (*not* Dungeon Fantasy RPG). Very fun stuff. Much more fun than in D&D to be honest.
In any case, Mystara, Forgotten Realms, Spelljammer, Greyhawk, Dark Sun, Eberron, Planescape, Al-Qadim and Ravenloft are all varying degrees of kino in their own way. A good and passionate GM can run excellent games in any of them.
The rest are trash.

Would your human male fighter ever consider getting themselves a nice trad peasant wife and settling down in the countryside?

Hey man Scipio Africanus and Cincinnatus ended their lives peacefully retired in the countryside.
>>
>>97826640
And they were normal mortal humans. My fighter decidedly is not. He should not be lowering himself to some twig who will snap in half if he exerts the slightest force. If she doesn't have at least 70 hp she's not worth looking at, and if she dies to Power Word Kill she's decidedly not a keeper.

>>
>>97817852
The closest I have to a human male fighter is an undead deathknight, but he does have a chinese style courtesan tradwife (now also undead) that he's fighting for the freedom to settle down with.
He also has a shapeshifting feralwife
And a swordwife

He's very traditional

I literally always wanted to write a banana republic setting dude, what the hell

Long time MtG player (17 years?) and with what's happening to the game rn, i don't really have much interest in any of the new sets.

Sorcery looks like it could maybe scratch that itch. The art is fantastic and reminds me of legacy MtG art. Anybody here play?

I watched a few overview vids, but I'm curious how the actual gameplay goes.

For someone who plays mostly EDH, are there any similarities?

Is it usually a 2 player match?
How long are the matches usually?

Is it as much of a money pit as MtG?

Convinced a few of my MtG friends to give it a shot based off of the art alone. Just need an idea of what I'm up against in terms of learning curve.
13 replies and 7 images omitted. Click here to view.
>>
A friend mentioned it to me a few weeks ago and I've had a waning interest in MTG for a long while now so I'm going to get into it even if it turns out to be a dead game. I bought the Gothic precons and I bought some playsets of the ordinaries (commons) of each set off of Ebay which should be showing up in about a week, probably in the next week or two I'm going to buy a booster box to crack.
I've probably played around 10 games with the precons with my friend and the game seems fun even if we are still misplaying and don't have a good head for strategy yet, not to mention it feels like the precons are kinda lopsided in powerlevel.
I don't know if I like the fact the deckbuilding meta has a lot of universal autoincludes (toolbox no matter what for sidedeck casting wincons, cores/mixes/other powerful artifacts if you can afford them) and the entire meta seemed completely dominated by Druid decks before he got nerfed via errata.
The fact that a lot of cards I've seen have misinterpretable wording that can lead to confusion about how stuff is executed also isn't great, but Curiosa.com is a solid resource that clears most things up pretty quickly even if it is irritating that I have to interrupt games several times in order to figure stuff out.
Even with those reservations the game is doing too much cool stuff for me to ignore it. Between the art and the really interesting design space they use with some cards like pic related I can see myself spending a lot of time and money on this, even though the only people I'm probably going to be playing with are 2-3 friends since the closest sanctioned event is over an hour away from where I live.
>>
>>97821727
If you don't mind a dead game, Mage Wars Arena is pretty dope and you can usually get the complete thing for a decent price.

The water decks are pretty dominant right now, but there's still a lot of competitive builds, also people are still trying to figure out what works in general. Cards like Atlantean Fate can be pretty brutal.

Sorcery is based just for printing these two cards alone.
