Ah yes, the magnificat. That grand new primaris organ which not only enhanced standard space marines, but conveniently corrected that rather irritating compatibility flaw they once suffered from.
Cope however you like. After the femstodes precedent, this outcome is inevitable and you know it.

Nah. Its MUCH more likely that if GW wants to create female space Marines, they'll really go balls deep on ass fucking their own established lore and say one of the "lost legions" (2nd or 11th) were actually ruled by a Matriarch, meaning her sacred gene seed could recreate her legions in the modern setting. One loyalist female marine chapter, and one chaos female marine chapter.

Screenshot this NOW because I can almost guarantee it. And this is coming from a guy who HATES all Spess Mehreenz legions.

Removing Templates was a sticking point because one of the few army concepts I had was "Penal Legionaries screening for Artillery" and what good is that without Pie plates of Death?!

>>a true follower of the Living Force.
>What does that mean?
Basically, a Jedi listens to the Force and goes where the Force wants him to go, often leading to such a Jedi arriving at the right place at the right time, maybe even early, before they learn why they could be needed there, but they usually ARE needed there, sooner or later.
And they operate like that rather than listening to the Council, and maybe would make decisions the Council would be against, especially if against what the Senate would want them to do, as Jedi often did things that were objectively wrong, all because those were the orders of the Senate, like the Khaleesh being the ones punished after the Huk War, only because they managed to push bugs back, take the war to their colony planets, but unlike the Huk, they were neither the part of the Republic nor in possession of important resources. Or Battle of Galidraan, where Mandalorians were framed, all so Jedi could be used to eliminate them.

Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade, Gygaxian D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere.

Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency.

If you are new to the OSR, welcome! Ask us whatever you're curious about: we'll be happy to help you get started. We also have two excellent beginner guides created by Anons with feedback from the thread that you can check for help:

If it's the Totallynotabot one, I think it was tried although not too seriously because it was just rolling and if you rolled any of the options below the 9 default points you might as not play. It also makes Heavenly Restriction just the strongest option. Getting an extra 2 points and having 250x human physical stats at the effective cost of 3 points, or just 2 if you are a drop-in, puts you ahead of essentially every other choice because you have 7 more points that you don't have to worry about dividing between cursed energy and talent like all how Sorcerers and Cursed Spirits have to.
>>
>>97396731
Looking at the cast I thought there'd be at least one criminal, like fredrick sounds like he'd be one but he's apparently a performer? Same with Henryk being a civil servant rather than being a businessman. We also don't have a proper rebel or clanker character yet, but we do have a vampire and a werewolf for some reason. It's actually nice to see how different our doctors and insane crafters are despite or because of how much the cyoa leans on one or the other for the tech tree.

>the next BBEG in your campaign is a coomer that goes around kidnapping and mind controlling women for his harem, and literally that’s it.

Does your party even care? Does your setting/game system even care? Assume that the BBEG is an adequate challenge and difficulty for your setting and party (whether it’s Exalted or DND or Rogue Trader or whatever, and the villain is always the right difficulty level for your party whether you’re lvl 1 or lvl 20 or a weenie or a Solar, the scale is perfect).

Basically is this guy a problem you and your crew would want to fix in whatever game you’re playing.

If he isn’t, what would it take to make him be a problem? A bigger bounty or reward? A personal friend that got turned into a harem slave?

if possible I'd keep trying to introduce them to established DnD settings (or Pathfinder settings) since that game seems to be one they're the most familiar with. Trying to drag them kicking and screaming into a whole new set of books and a heavily immersive world of lore might be difficult. You could also look at games like the Warhammer 40k RPGs by Fantasy Flight Games, or Wrath and Glory, since those are specifically designed around an established setting that they have to learn and understand or else their characters will be swiftly deleted by the Imperial authorities.
>>
>>97398305
Good advice, yeah I'll consider it. I just like WoD more than Warhammer and DnD but maybe I should keep it in mind.

So my DND group was kind of disolving, 2 out of the 4 players left because of life issues (one got a job abroad and the other one is dealing with life), to keep playing we incorporated 2 new players with not so much experience but avid watchers of Critical Role.

One of these player conditions was that we incorporate x cards to the game, she says that it makes it much more comfortable for her to know she can avoid unpleasant story elements having this tool.

I started to read a bit about it online and is this something you guys have used? In my 20 years playing I've never used this.

>Cyberpunk 2020 vs. Cyberpunk RED?
Cyberpunk 2020 is the second edition of the Cyberpunk TTRPG that focuses on simulation gameplay and has a black trenchcoat aesthetic.

Cyberpunk RED is the fourth edition of the Cyberpunk TTRPG that is set after Cyberpunk 2020 following the Fourth Corporate War, focuses on more balanced gameplay and is more streamlined but has less content.

You can discuss Shadowrun here too because I also feel bad for those guys.

Silly, but like in a good way. Future bows firing future arrows to silently drop sentries and do all kinds of ninja shit is 10/10.
>>
>>97397538
I love guns far too much to actually make use of it but I can see the appeal. Bows are quieter than guns, are legal to own almost everywhere and have reusable ammo. However, I imagine you'll still get laughed at if you're the only merc at the function with a literal caveman weapon while everyone else has smartlinked gats that blow the wall out.
>>
>>97395753
The anime was nice advertising, but it didn't fix all the bugs and update the game. The game was undercooked. It needed another month or two worth of bug-fixing time. Also, the console versions were not really up to snuff. CDPR should have just made it a PC exclusive or only released it for consoles after they figured out how to optimize the game better.

They obviously got better at optimization at some point since the thing is running on a Switch 2 now.

Cool if you lean into it, being "the guy with the bow" is fun. But as a serious alternative to guns? Not a fan. I file it under 'Gimmick' like the guy who only uses swords, or fists, or explosives, or poison, etc. But you could hypothetically strap any sci-fi gadget to an arrow and do something cool with it. Just off the top of my head:
>Microphone arrow, listen in to target from afar
>Sensor arrow, get HUD info on the room it's in
>Explosive arrow, obviously
>Poison gas grenade arrow
>Strobe arrow
Basically anything you can pack into a fistful you can design into an arrow, or sometimes duct tape onto it. Thief has shown us the way already.

Is Warhammer 40,000 actually a misandrist/female supremacist setting? I'm just thinking about how every apparent accomplishment of the setting's major male players was actually done by a woman behind them e.g. the Emperor and Erda, Vect and Lady Malys, Angron and Lotara Sarrin, the High Lords of Terra and Morven Vahl, etc. etc.

>>97395890
The other anon dealt with the Wagnerian topics, so I'll just point out that Indo-European gods typically aren't considered all-powerful. Whether the Norns (or Moirae or Fates etc) create fate or simply manage it is debatable, but they're essentially teleological deities like the winds, and seem to receive little to no cultic activity. Odin (and all other gods) being subject to fate is simply part of a broader view that everyone has a destiny, even the gods. What sets Odin apart from the rest is of the Æsir is that he is aware of his fate and can travel around the cosmos to investigate it.
>>
>>97395890
And Wicca is an honest to god new-age cult invented post-feminism and not indicative of any deeper mythological substrate.
