>>97401388If you make a hack for SWN I'd play it.
>>97401388theres a genesys hack for ffg 40k
>>97401388Personally I like the FFG systems, so never had the need for that. I heard that Warpstar! is basically designed as an OSR 40k RPG, but I haven't looked into it. And like the other anon said, there's a pretty effortful conversion of DH for GenesysHowever last year I've been toying with an idea of making a conversion of World of Darkness' Storyteller system for 40k.I like this system for very simple, fast and instinctive core mechanics with little math involved, but at the same time for having very rich and multifaceted character creation which supports making complex characters who are well anchored within the plot and the setting. I think it could be a neat alternative for 40k stories more focused on investigation and intrigue and not that much on combat. Too many other projects on my plate right now, but might get to it eventually
>>97401928>>97401737I'm surprised by how polished the Genesys-hack looks.>>97401671I started bashing IM and SWN Backgrounds together according to Factions outlined in IM. Character creation seems like the easiest part. Equipment will probably require the most work.It would also be useful to have Dismemberment-mechanics and Warp-corruptions when the Psyker fucks up.
>>97403216>I'm surprised by how polished the Genesys-hack looks. They also did one for Warhammer Fantasy and at least in my country a group of people even did a small run of professionally printed physical versions recently. They even fucking comissioned some brand new art with WHF larpers and cosplayers acting as models.God bless dedicated nerds getting shit done
Why do elves look down on humans so much?
>>97403098Which game?

>>97403062Have you met humans? We kinda suck.

It can’t just be about the money because during the TSR era they shoved all the artists like Brom into one room and made them work for peanuts.
>>97402390Part of my 'tism appreciates how clean and uniform the 4e books were, while the other part is deeply insulted by how sterile and boring they felt to read and flip through.
>>97403026I never got a "sterile" feel from 4e, I was for years absorbed into the books and I am even getting that lore PDF that someone made a while back printed up later this year.
maybe some fa/tv/irgin has the collage: the Dr Who novel artwork went from>terrible-to-great traditional art from the 60s to 1989>THESE monstrosities in the 90s>'we can do 3D now!' abstract renders of cubes in the later 90s/2000s>pure 'minimalism' by the later 2000s (text only, maybe a posterized photo)overall, i'd always take traditional art even when there are a few stinkers. Erol Otus has some bad D&D illustrations. in fact, i think his style doesn't fit D&D very well. but it's also great, and way better than 'perfect' digital art.
>>97402976me on the right.
>>97402926Nah, I think the artist they got to do the latest 5e PHB and DMG is pretty good. Probably because they have a more fantastical art style that evokes older editions while still being digital.
I was diving in the archives and discovered this thing that /tg/ made a long time ago. Catgirls + an underwater world. It looks like the project withered away and everyone involved left this board ten or so years ago. So, how was it? Did it ever get off the ground?
>>97399437I have never seen a good thing about 2d4chan or the people running.
>>973994372d4chan is dead and filled with bots and the owner is a miserable little faggot. 1d6chan is active, bots get the boot fucking quick, and they got locked the loli page to keep pedos from fucking with it. What's wrong with it again?
>>97400757Right, but the work those fa/tg/guys did was good at transmitting the vibe and aesthetic.
>>97399437Elaborate or continue to receive well-deserved mockery.
>>97373285I ran this using Mutant Future and some folks from a gamefinder. I had some extremely complicated excel sheets that built every square of a world for my players to explore. Only ran three sessions but we had fun. I checked but cannot find my old excel sheets. I think they're on my other computer. Maybe I'll dig 'em up. It was a 2d6 roller that'd give each square on the map either open ocean, deep sea, shallow sea, island, continent, ruins... some other things. Then it gave what flora and fauna, treasure, monsters, adventure hooks and possible tech could be located at each. Was fun. I kinda want to finish it up. But I doubt I will.
But only the bad ones.

>>97402942When winners do it, it's not harassment, it's just confidence.
>>97402942I think there's a valuable lesson burried deep, deep inside that. About coping with failure and frustration and the skills it requires and how poorly we prepare young white men, in particular, with those skills. I'd really like us, as a society, to do a better job of it. Games are actually an awesome inroad and could be a great educational tool to that end.

>the next BBEG in your campaign is a coomer that goes around kidnapping and mind controlling women for his harem, and literally that’s it.Does your party even care? Does your setting/game system even care? Assume that the BBEG is an adequate challenge and difficulty for your setting and party (whether it’s Exalted or DND or Rogue Trader or whatever, and the villain is always the right difficulty level for your party whether you’re lvl 1 or lvl 20 or a weenie or a Solar, the scale is perfect).Basically is this guy a problem you and your crew would want to fix in whatever game you’re playing. If he isn’t, what would it take to make him be a problem? A bigger bounty or reward? A personal friend that got turned into a harem slave?
>>97400840That’s pretty good. An incredibly dickish Utilitarian good celestial who thinks mind controlling and destroying the free wills of a couple hundred women of influence or power to seed humanity with aasimar of high quality or social position for the “greater good” is a neat villain.
>>97402137The party really doesn't have much of a reason to care for the civies seeing as they are amoral mercs fighting for both sides of the conflict. The two rebel groups hate one another and besides they've also done their fair share of raping and enslaving as the continent the game takes place in is vaguely African inspired. But yeah I agree its pretty easy to make a villain like that a main problem. Though I'd say I've relegated him to being an optional bounty more then anything
I think the OPs only problem is that the thread is presenting this guy as a campaign main villain instead of a side villain that is still important to deal with.Otherwise, the way the OP’s premise is structured is the best way I’ve seen on /tg/ to posit a game system agnostic hypothetical that easily dodges the “my setting/game setting doesn’t do that/this is above or below my setting/system” contrarian fags that would rather complain in a thread not meant for them rather than just ignore the thread entirely.
>>97392676>the next BBEG in your campaign is a coomer that goes around kidnapping and mind controlling women for his haremAbduction, sexual assault/ rape, enslavement and mind control are all serious crimes>literally that’s itWhat do you mean "thats it"? Its already more than enough for him to get on the kill list>Does your party even care?Yes, the party is aligned with the local kingdom and shall punish one who abducts and mind controls the kings subjects>Does your setting/game system even care?Yes. Most settings care about kidnapping and enslavement>Basically is this guy a problem you and your crew would want to fix in whatever game you’re playing.Yes, he shall be killed and his victims freed
>>97402169You could flavor it however you want. Use Radiant Idol as the template. A good one might not go after women of influence and instead save the doomed and incorporate them: sick wives, damsels in distress, lame beggars and whores. His charming aura might be making them compliant, but his intention is improving their lives and humanity in general. An evil one might take those he deems as the best stock, using flat out domination magic to enrapture them and purloin them for his self centered utopia.

Previous thread: >>97295718GURPS is a modular, adaptable system, capable of running a wide range of characters, settings, and play styles, with a level of detail varying from lightweight to completely autistic.Optional rules allow you to emulate different genres with a single system, or even switch genres within a single game.A nearly complete archive of GURPS books can be found by using the image. Never post direct links to the archive anywhere in plain text.If you're wondering where to start:- The Basic Set covers everything, including a lot of optional rules you probably won't use.- A genre guide can be found in the archive, under Unofficial/GURPSgen. It tells you what extra books and articles you may find useful for many common genres.- How To Be a GURPS GM is a good read even for players.- GCS (gurpscharactersheet.com) is an excellent character-builder software, with page references to all the books and the option to export to both Foundry and Fantasy Grounds.Thread question: what's the best classic GURPS cover art?
>>97402236>Maybe you could just increase the MoS needed to hit a location through CiA by a certain number>1 MoS allows you to avoid armour offering 1/6 or 1/3 coverage, 2 MoS avoids 1/2 coverage, 3 MoS avoids 2/3 coverage, 4 MoS avoids 5/6 coverage, and 6 MoS hits a CiA, for example.I like this. It's probably the better way of handling it.
>>97402288>It's smaller than the right lungWow I had no idea about this. The more you know.
