its still crazy to me that kruleboyz have 5 different cavalry heroes and a cavalry buff piece but no cavalry units

it really felt like a lumineth situation where the army was chopped up haphazardly into 2 nonsensical waves, but its been an edition and a half and the second wave never materialized

LRL DID sell well
>>
>>97248792
lol they dont wait to see sales figures before beginning the 5 year process of designing the ssecond half of the army. LRL was all designed at the same time, just split up to milk multiple release cycles and sell more books.

You coulnd't be more wrong. Almost all of my miniatures have conversions on them, GW or 3d printed bits. I am just pissed because GW is just removing cool parts from their boxes to move to minmaxing profit to stratospheric levels. Which sucks a lot because we are getting mote expensive boxes with less options. But you must be happy with this. Bet you are one of the peoples here that were throwing shit at GW when the leak happened for 3rd edition, and then more than happily bought starter box, all the new shit stuff they spit out and playing 3rd happier then ever to have less options, customisations and soul. Your pointless insulting my person just cunfirms my thoughts.
>>
>>97248639
You're baiting or a fucking retard.
GW almost never includes more torsos or legs in their kits than extrictly necessary to build units. In fact, they almost always are designed to push people to buy 2 or more to get all the options.
Classic example: the old Devastators kits.
>>
>>97248648
I am not neither. You should be just a little bit confused. Cataphractii termies had 6 torsos for 5 dudes, same for Tartaros. Mk3 marines had crest for the head, mk4 had one more torso, helmet with crest and tabard. Those four boxes are ten times better than any shit that GW published for 2nd edition onwards. Instead of going i that way now we got 5 identical poses for all the marks, less options and shit new Cataphractii box. Just look at your bits box... Oh wait, there is NONE because you do not gaty any additional bits anymore. Well, glad you are happy, for sure it's better to be happy than to be sour.

Why the FUCK is his power armor broken? The Badab War was 100 years ago. This dude leads a legion-sized band of space marine pirates and is one of the wealthiest and most powerful space marine lords in the setting, on par with chapter masters of the first founding chapters.

WHY THE FUCK WOULD SOMEONE NOT HAVE FIXED HIS POWER ARMOR. Does GW even know their own fucking setting anymore?

But here's some answeres for you fucking kids without imagination, i don't care if it fits the rules or not in your edition of choice:
>stand between the monster and the wizard
>run and tackle the monter
>run and tackle the wizard out of the way, grabbing him (bit gay but you would use your body as a shield)
>run and tackle the wizard out of the way, pushing only
>spread your bag of caltrops between the monster and the wizard
>spend your smokebomb between the monster and the wizard
>move in an intersecting, but not crossing, the path of the monster, as to generate a threat of AoO
>use the AoO

Roll under and static DC games make it easier, but if you want to stick with varying DCs it might be easier if you pick one DC each for easy/average/hard rolls and use those unless you have a really good reason to adjust further

You can buy the entire Dragonbane box (including full rulebook, dice, standees and solo rules) for cheap. Why I recommend it to players starting out solo is
1. Because of what I said about and
2. Because when I too was new to solo gaming I thought it was very easy to get into it with this game. The solo dungeon crawling that is included is hand-holdy enough to get you going but also it gives you the reigns to start being creative and handle it "on your own". It's really neat on-boarding, in my opinion

picrel it's the starterset. It's 40 american dollarydoos on amazon

>>97248731
To play doubles advocate I imagine the profits from the epub versions of the rule books isn't massive given how how they are priced deterring sales. So overall cancelling epub is equates to a cost reduction overall. If epubs were priced at like a quarter of retail physical price I would probably genuinely support them, since it would be cheap enough to be reasonable and also mean I don't have to participate in the FOMO.

>Certain social engineering options are hard-locked for certain factions, no?
You're right, there are aversions each faction has to the early game choices like free market or police state. The later game options are more open.

>factions mass produce garbage because its easier and faster causing more problems
>death by talent is real so you can only clone crap in quantity but that causes other problems
Al lot of the genetic engineering stuff is a bit fucked like the genejack.
>Tyranny you ask? How can you tyrannize someone who can not feel pain?
>>
>>97248116
I believe it's male chicks being sorted for maceration, which they do in factory farming because they don't need them for anything.

It's pretty easy to see they're suggesting a hardcore eugenics program using cloning to fill in the gaps left by euthasia/sterilization of lesser people. The Spartans Santiago leads named themselves after a Greek tribe who were famous for committing infanticide, disposing of sickly or malformed children at birth.
>>
I feel like people put far too much importance on what happens to the “canonical” leaders and ignore all the possible social policies and gameplay states that can occur. (You) decide if Lal leads an ineffectual weak faction or the second coming of Super Earth. (You) decide if Santiago leads a survivalist libertarian paradise or a literally 1984 clone dictatorship. (You) decide if the endpoint of Yang’s Human Hive is an enlightened Eudaoimonic collective or a mind-controlled society of ants. The story of the faction leaders and their societies unfolds throughout (You)r game, not through the quotes.
>>
>>97248725
I've noticed that people who like in-game lore too much tend to be cucks and completely remove the player from the equation or consider that anything the player does will end up going wrong.
Best example is how people just assume the yes-man ending to new vegas to always end up bad regardless of what kind of player character ends up doing it.

Scary animals with a quirk. Give me a giant boar with antlers, a wolf with two sets of jaws, a two-headed deer, or make something breath fire. The further it gets from being a real animal, the less interesting it is.

>>97248185
Berzerk's quality is all over the map. There are arcs that are pretty good. There's a shit ton of perv-for-perv's sake, and edge-for-edge's sake. The attempts at humor are god-awful. The stories are meandering. Some of the characters are well developed. Most aren't. The art is beautiful.

I think "well-realized" is probably the right complement for it. There aren't many issues of Berzerk that are, themselves, amazing as anything other than cool art. But 10,000 pages in, yeah: he spent a helluva long time realizing his idea, and it's impressive.
>>
>>97228517
I'm a fan of things that poorly pretend to be other things. You can barely tell that the chest is a mimic because it is breathing. You can barely tell that a person is a skinwalker because the proportions are slightly off. Things like that.

Everyone I know who watches Fatt Coville videos is a fucking terrible GM. I've never fully watched one and I am widely considered the best GM out of all 3 groups I'm part of. I am regularly requested to run campaigns. People borderline fall asleep in the games others run. There's also no tension because they know that these Coville acolytes will fudge rolls until all PCs survive the battle.

If you're a good GM, it's an inmate talent you can hone over time. You're born that way. If you aren't, then no amount of shitty advice is going to make up for your lack of talent. It just is what it is. This idea that everyone should "try" DMing is retarded. The idea that anyone can be good at it? lolno. Its like some fat divorced on who suddenly decides he's gonna become a famous author. Fat chance. Most people fucking suck at GMing. Hell, most of them suck at playing, but at least in that case the game depends less on them.
109 replies and 14 images omitted. Click here to view.
>>
>>97232246
I dont think that's quite it. It's more that good GMs are more likely to go looking for advice and tips even though they already do things well. Bad GMs just want validation.

So you wind up with 'advice' videos that aren't advice, just some gimmick about why you'll totes get validation if you, say, throw out your combat grid. This, incidentally, just so happens to be less effort for the GM.

>If you fuck with the numbers to make encounters go the way you want then sooner or later one or more of the players are going to notice the pattern of inconsistencies.
Yes, I've been there as a player before and this is because I'm an autist that recognizes patterns. But,
>At which point they will never trust you as the GM again
Lolno. The GM has a million ways to "cheat". We're sitting under his roof, at his table, playing a game he's put most of the effort into organizing, and the rules explicitly allow him to do whatever he wants. He wants us to have a good time, we want him to have a good time, and we trust eachother's good intentions with the tools we have rather than expecting the GM will never fudge rolls, which is a stupid thing to single out.

Maybe your group is different and they'll all get turbo butthurt if they think the DM isn't "playing fair" and lets them survive a series of unfortunate rolls or keeps the big bad from dying before he got a turn. If so you have my condolences, but not everyone's group is as cursed as yours.
>>
>>97232246
You're still jealous of Matt Coville, OP? You'll never be as popular as him and get money by GMing, get over It. People just don't like your advice.

I have a slight amount of natural talent but can't muster up the will or teach myself any discipline with which to cultivate it. >>97248602
They all get 200cp for free as well as the 200cp item stipend.
Spending 100cp gives each companion an additional 200cp.
It's basically a 100:1600 ratio of cp spent to total cp gained if you import a full 8 companions.
