But this makes sense, the Legions were bamboozled 10,000 years ago. They've had time to understand that The Lost and The Damned is more than just a band name. They've either sullenly accepted or just went crazy so it doesn't matter. The ones who are still naive enough to buy into the whispered promises are the warbands, The Sanctified, Flawless Host, etc. That's where you go for Chaos piety and fresh faith.

Travel log #6 [Las Vegas, Nevada]-[*7/10]>>>>>Pros>Vegas has a lively night life with two very distinct cities for the blood that, so long as you're not a Sabbat war party, you could find a nice niche for yourself. Even just visiting has been miles easier than almost any other city with a population >Even the slightest edge could let a person live relatively comfortable here, and those who know how to carve out a niche could get pretty far, although tower-of-babel levels of ambition can be an issue >This might be the largest and most friendly assortment for those of us of a certain breed; Ravs, Nos, Malks and Gangs. I saw some old friends I haven't seen in decades, and there is strength in numbers. Usual for nomadic and subterranean folk, just play it smart and you can find safe haven if you need it>Despite an unusually large hunter presence, they seem more focused on other threats as it is rumoured among hunters Las Vegas was purged a few years ago>>>>>Cons>It may not be as bad as some, but this place in the desert is a monument to hubris. One day it's gonna go>This place is a cauldron for forces beyond mortal ken, judging by my travel companion almost having a stroke and scrawling the kind of shit on the walls I haven't seen since back in Marquette. Full house as well; ancient forces, indigenous ghosts, sins, and the rest >This is a 'Vampire Free city' and if you start looking too dead or too successful, the locals will just dust you >Despite the relative peace, this place is three murders or a bad report away from going bad; if it isn't some unmentionable horror doing it the tensions between high society and the common Blood could start something ugly, supposing the Snake worshippers out in the desert don't start somethingI can see why Teddy decided to move in. Nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live here. Guess that's why the Ravs have such a big camp on the fringes. Good to see old friends again, and to get into a light amount of trouble.
>>97388600Thanks to my Ravs, we should be good on money for the rest of this trip.To anyone looking to move in I have some words of advice. First off, this place exploded from nothing and I expect one day the desert will take her back just as quickly. In terms of politics the local Establishment has some very strict rules. Don't win too much (formal leadership says no millions, fringe say take nothing but cash and bonds), no poker, don't feed off members of high society. They take this shit as serious as formal Camarilla doctrine. Don't poke at rival camps. High society stays away from the fringes and the fringes don't agitate high society. Play nice, or don't cause too much trouble and leave as quiet as you came in. Decorum is important, even if it's the informal decorum.Lastly, while the common fringe clans are friendly, there's a war in the waiting among the ruling Triumvirate. Giovanni, Tremere, and Toreador. At some point, someone is going to try and cut someone else out of the picture, and it will get ugly real quick. That's for the future though. For once it was nice to drive into a city and have only one Prince and two Barons to do the niceties with. The old Prince was bemused a nomad actually acted with Hospitality. The sisters on the fringes were... Well. Interesting. Mèo-Mèo's clan, so I let her do the talking. Can't say I appreciated one of them thinking I'm Mèo-Mèo's pimp and reminding us prostitution was banned in the county, though her sister had her own 'quirks.' I suppose that's just the norm for leaders. Otherwise, outside of the nebulous doom(s) looming on the horizon I'll probably visit again.Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

I had a live call with Cope, my late boyfriend's Malkavian friend and multiple personality disorder self-proclaimed streamer, who cannot put that damn phone down, ever.I broke the news to her. She had a manic episode, and I'm definitely gonna go to hell for this, but I thought it was funny as fuck. Just kidding, this is already hell. Better than a depressive or psycho episode in my book. When she got better - making a huge assumption here, implying there's a "better" - we went back to my Dementation training. She said: "What if I told you we are characters on a screen, and I don't even mean actors in a movie, but letters on a monitor?"I mean, I've already seen more shit than I shoulda had when I was a mortal. At this point I'm prepared to believe in fairies and demons and Godzilla, bring it on, world of dorkness, come at me.I can't with this girl, she talked to her "chat" for two hours while her phone's battery was dead.>>97385697>said she wanted to transfer Boy Toy's tears into a more solid container, such as a gemstone, a memento she could wear as a pendantMercury Lamp sold me on Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) as the material for the tears' container. No way I can spell that shit, so I just copypasted it. The material and process are way cheaper and the thing is still solid while less likely to be stolen from me.>>97388704Damn I shoulda showed this to Cope and her "chat" when I had the chance. has anyone given though to the state of mathematics in fantasy settings and how it affects the setting and characters in it? e.g.>tribes in not!Africa struggle with trade because they can't count past 2>how traders to calculation to determine prices, risk, etc>how well astronomers understand the motion of the heavens>how the characters think (i.e. logically, or numerically, or in a poetic / non-mathematical way)
>>97373744This is why I dont have any intention of fleshing out the interaction. It just does, the players haven't shown any interest in the exact mechanics. There's no real reason for me to work it out further unless my players suddenly start caring about it. Its going to be more relevant in the future but for now its background information with the occasional reminders.Unless the players tell me / let me know by their behavior and questions that they're interested in specific things I try to avoid putting in a lot of time to developing ideas and lore about them. The exception being of course things I think are cool or relevant that I want them to deal with or know about. At the end of the day I enjoy creating a consistent setting for my players to have fun in, where they can make informed choices and have the world respond logically to their actions.
>>97372876would be even more awkward if they had different views on logic, e.g. classical logic vs intuitionist logic vs paraconsistent logicor if they had contradictory mathematical axioms, e.g. if one species the axiom of choice and another accepted the axiom of determinacy.

>>97381462>Actual loser mentality because what's the point of playing if you're not doing it with friends.Personally, I'd like to make some friends by trawling the web for people who share my mindset... although my experience tells me that this is impossible for some reason. People would just rather apply to game after game after game and watch them crumble, rather than come together as a group and put in effort to build something actually good. Maybe it's the effort part, that they'd rather hold out hope that some day someone else will just do everything for them, or maybe they're so afraid of disappointment that they refuse to actually get invested in anything. Oh well. I have half a mind to offer to trade services, run somebody else's dream game for him if he does the same for me, but I'd probably just get some jackass to sting me for a one-shot and then disappear.
>>97389029It's a symptom of modern times. If you don't get instant gratification from a thing, don't waste effort, just try a new one! Food, games, romantic partners! Don't waste time and effort with something that doesn't work, just swap out until you find the perfect one! There's a million out there, and all the time in the world to find it!
>>97385810See this is exactly the kind of thing I mean. What's that, someone played the Owlcat game and wants to play a Space Marine with your Inquisitional Retinue? Why not? Turns out brother is literally impossible to be properly stealthy with and requires elevators instead of stairs, making him a liability on stealth missions but great for when inevitably someone tries to jump you and the roided out gene-soldier does his thing. Roleplaying games have always been around not going with just cookie cutter approaches but flexing what you have to work with what you want, no? Especially with friends. Who doesn't want to make a narrative with their friends? >>97389029I'll absolutely give you that making friends in the online sphere is way harder than it should be. I blame a lot of people (myself included) on being not the best socially adjusted and struggling some times with autism or other issues. I know I'm really lucky that my group's been together for so long and we're comfortable enough to be willing to push boundaries on what the exactly we can do in a given system or more willing to try things flat out like a new system after years of playing D&D or Pathfinder. But not everyone gets that, and unfortunately you do get cases of people going for paid GMing for some reason over enduring someone who won't be 100% down for exactly what they want. I'm sorry that happens to you often man.
>>97389624>you do get cases of people going for paid GMing for some reason over enduring someone who won't be 100% down for exactly what they want. I'm sorry that happens to you often man.I think you may have me mixed up with another anon. That has never happened to me. What I do get is an endless parade of people who seem to take pride in caring as little as possible about every campaign they're in.
>>97389724Because it's easier to ghost and try your luck elsewhere than put in effort. There's a million GMs out there, one of them SURELY will cater perfectly to me!
