If you think about it, they are specialists Technowizards who specialize in the field of putting rocks on top of other rocks to create their very large TW device.

why are many creators so afraid of making a setting with napoleonic wars era technology?

I remember reading about officers complaining that kneeling men that went down to let the others behind them shoot sometimes weren't that eager to stand back up, which is interesting because is what is to be expected form basic human behaviour but also suggests that that was indeed the basic expectation.

Formations standing while shooting at each other were bound to happen more often than not anyway, low visibility and slow c&c meant that once you engaged an enemy formation you had to stay there until someone else around you could give you a cleaner picture of what was going on. It was also reported during the ACW (and I assume it was the same during the napolonic period) that formations were harder to move after engaging the enemy in a firefight because there developed a sense of committment. Think about the medieval warfare reports of formations fighting like men obsessed over an imaginary line until one side finally broke, but in slower, ranged fights.
>>
>>97285005
They're a decent amount but they're niche for a variety of aforementioned reasons as well as a new one:
Most fans of that era are a specific historical fag that has deep and intractable concerns about the number of buttons on the cavalry coats of the 23rd Whogivesafuck in the year of 18old at the battle of eurotown34532 being a lighter hue of red because 2nd cousin of Duke Nonuts the 3rd's favourite colour was Tart Orange (#fb4d46 ) and he will get in your face about it. No one wants to deal with that.

If you haven't seen them
>Sludge
>Silver Bayonet
>Turnip 28
>Innocence: Cube War
are all in that area although no one has made a proper grand scale battle game for it which is a gap. I've been noodling with Blucher and contemplating adding fantastical rules. Mixing whichever DBA does Napoleonic era with Horde of the Things is also likely feasible.

Is it normal for booster boxes to cost like fifty dollars?
>>
>>97287098
That depends. If it's the newest boxes and it has something meta-relevant, they'll typically go for ~$120. If it's something slightly older and not meta relevant, the price can be anywhere between $70 and $20 in LED9's case. It's all about demand + the knowledge that a lot of their cards are getting reprinted in tins.
>>
>>97285559
Sorry we have to kill all ritual decks because banning new cards may cause 0.001% loss of profit for company, better luck next time fucker.

>>
>>97287301
The pull rates are actually decent compared to whatever time you're remembering and reprints drag those prices down kicking and screaming every year. Only people it's really expensive for is people that want to participate in the current meta.

Historically, abbesses wielded real political power, controlled lands, and some could even mint coins or raise troops. You could expand this: make religious orders one of the few paths to education and political influence, creating a parallel power structure. The Church could require female representation in certain councils, or have traditions where certain theological or diplomatic roles are reserved for women.

Prolonged conflicts or crusade-equivalents could create precedents where women defend castles, lead forces, or serve as military commanders out of necessity - which then becomes normalized over time.

Different inheritance laws make a massive difference. Gavelkind (dividing inheritance among all children) versus primogeniture, or systems where daughters inherit in absence of sons. You could have regions with different legal traditions that create interesting dynamics when noble families intermarry.

The wound on his back ignited a surge of primal, animalistic rage within the Howler, causing him to completely ignore the strange voice in his head. He charged directly at the creature that had injured him, intent on chopping, ripping, and tearing it apart.

His underlings, though already weary, maintained their discipline and formed up to engage the approaching force of bizarre, humanoid beasts. These were no mere ragtag highwaymen, united only by common colors and a shared paymaster, like those they might have faced before. Moreover, no one knew how many ranged fighters those dogs of war still had hidden in the surrounding woods.

Don't forget that Howler is a werewolf because of his curse, so this might make him resist Skogs' attempts to control him.

If you could choose the set of core classes (in the PHB/core book and ideally the rest of the classes are designed around them) what would you choose?
They don't have to be identical to their current incarnations.

For me its,
>Ranger,
absorbs a lot of the fighter but keeps the independent survivalist schtick.
>Paladin,
Divine warrior with special abilities but no spells
>Rogue,
Sneaky stabby martial, basically as he is now
>Wizard,
>Druid,
>Cleric,
Default to being lightly armoured wandering friar tuck type character, but with options to put on some armour and bonk.

What is the difference meaningfully between Monk 'wuxia' behaviour, fighter enhanced ability scores and rogue skills?
It's mostly the monk I'm, and what you mean by wargame abilities on the fighter, that I'm struggling to understand.

>What is the difference meaningfully between Monk 'wuxia' behaviour, fighter enhanced ability scores and rogue skills?
Lists of increasingly-wonky techniques on the Monk versus throwing big numbers into "default" rules until things get wonky on the Fighter versus using an actual skill subsystem that bundles functions into areas of proficiency that get wonky when you're That Good with the Rogue.

"Weaboo Fightan Magic" is an old pejorative for the Tome of Battle supplement for 3.5, back-porting a later-abandoned 4e prototype into a subsystem with classes substituting for the Fighter, Monk, and Paladin. It has stuff like covering your sword with a jet of flames for extra damage and reach at 3rd level, generally once per encounter due to the refresh mechanics but being 3.5 there are naturally shenanigans to loop.

>and what you mean by wargame abilities on the fighter
Before WotC got the IP, it was expected that higher-level characters eventually got positions of political power lording over increasing numbers of class-appropriate NPCs, which grounded the scope-creep of enemies surmounted in actual setting influence which in turn compensated for the proactive value of spellcasting by letting the Fighter send dudes to get things done in a number of places simultaneously because the casters became bosses of a lot less dudes. In the earliest versions, this directly cited the wargame preceding D&D called Chainmail for resolving combats with dozens to hundreds of participants.
>>
>>97286998
>Lists of increasingly-wonky techniques on the Monk versus throwing big numbers into "default" rules until things get wonky on the Fighter versus using an actual skill subsystem that bundles functions into areas of proficiency that get wonky when you're That Good with the Rogue.
I meant out of combat, sorry should have clarified.
I'm aware about the weaboo fightan magic but as it's written it looks like it'd have the usual awkwardness of the fighter and potentially also the monk sitting around whenever its not killing time while rogues and wizards solve everything, unless the GM gives the fighter a bone and he gets to punch a big rock.

I think every class should have a decent degree of application in and out of combat encounters. Overhauling the skill system a bit would help (Don't base skill ranks gained on INT). But also just giving every class some abilities related to non-combat action, just as tracking and survivalism to the Ranger/Fighter.
>>
>>97287187
>I meant out of combat
ToB on its own has teleportation, walking on air, and I think short-term invisibility. In the same Discipline, for some reason, which has a few things tied to a stealth skill. It's honestly a really good candidate for the whole setup just vibing as Fighter/Rogue with the seemingly-Wizard bits rectified by allowing those two their own Cool Shit in circumstances people actually play. Sure, people will TALK about Hulking Hurlers throwing osmium planetoids and using DC 100 skill checks for shit like a concert that brainwashes the crowd into will-gladly-die-for-you Fanatics, but actually using that long tail of 3.X in a session is AGONY because nothing lines up out there.

>unless the GM gives the fighter a bone and he gets to punch a big rock.
Inflating your ability score applies to all skills the ability affects and applying it to Strength lets you MOVE heavy objects for a variety of purposes.

>I think every class should have a decent degree of application in and out of combat encounters.
Given that the point of classes is boxing complementary party niches, I disagree with the idea that a given class should be a broadly-applicable thing. I'd much prefer just having a decent supply of class-independent build resources that actually let you be level-appropriately competent at a thing or two irrespective of your class, so that the tedious combinatorials this line of reasoning creates are emergent instead of hogging page-space.

Mastemon sure is pretty.

I really like the authentication service eBay forces on cards over 250USD.
It standardizes the packaging and they ship it in hard and sturdy cardboard cases.
The prices on eBay are stupid tho. Please buy my Mastemon at 800USD despite like 10 copies on TCGPlayer under 500.
The seller fees are very similar. I don’t know what causes this price discrepancy.

Different vendor mindsets. I don't think most ebay sellers update their prices or are deliberately overpricing expecting someone to message them and haggle

>>
>>97286356
Probably not. As much as I enjoy this tcg, there really is a disconnect in how the trash is used and whatever the devs are told to push. To prove I'm not crazy, a lot of the most recent ban and pairing restrictions kind of shows how underfunded the test team is. Although some if it really is a problem with how tgs without rotation struggle with how every single card counts and they have to push something new that is possibly better and combinations occur using stuff the devs aren't given the timeline to look for
>>
I might be wild for this but Vemmon needs a suspend effect to play out a tamer that had Vemmon in the text. The flow of the deck always runs into issues of having to waste turns playing Tamers for cost whereas the other Liberators have tamer summoners.

You failed it actually. The GM passed by having the Orc realistically target someone with a ranged attack when it couldn't just rush into melee with him.
>>
>>97287241
Only real question is if the Orc knew they were there

Other than that, I agree
>>
>>97287241
Not him, but I disagree.
If we're looking at this from the perspective of the orc he just got hit by some kind of flashbang. He comes out, sees an armored foe before him, and then looks past that foe to some other guy behind some houses and decides to attack him instead. And if he's a " berserker" doesn't that indicate someone that brawls the first enemy closest to him?
If I'm the DM of this game and I see a player clearly indicate he's moving to the far back in cover with a bow, the enemies just got surprised by a flashbang, and another player is stepping up to the front to challenge the enemy, I'm likely not going to be playing orcs as 140 IQ enemies who swiftly look at the cleric and determine that's the tank while looking at the rogue and going "Obviously we must target that one with the lower armor and can do sneak attack."

>Be Priscilla, Least Fortunate Woman in the Galaxy
>Still flying in circles through the air on the bizzaro slut drawn sleigh
>The Ork starts badgering about reattaching its head
>Sure, why not?
>At least this way he can maybe shoot down the sleighs chasing us and I can freeze to death in peace
>Unfortunately, we just can’t seem to get the head to stay in place, every time the sleigh shifts, the head falls off again
>The Ork seems to think my slave collar can help keep his head in place
>I kind of doubt that, his neck is thicker than my torso
>Also I kind of doubt the collar will come off easily either, but I guess it won’t hurt to try
>I “trade” my collar for the Ork’s flamer and use its pilot flame to try and keep warm while the Ork tries to pry the collar off my neck with his power claw
>It doesn’t come off easily. As I feared, it is likely daemonic in nature, or perhaps just made from unusual materials
>But in the end we get the collar off

>Lord Spencer doesn’t say anything, but judging by the fact he is pulled right up next to the sleigh, I assume he wants me to get into the passenger seat of the Land Speeder
>Spencer isn’t my favorite person in the world, I still have extreme doubts about his true allegiances, and even he is loyal, I resent his tendency to send me on missions that get me in situations like this
>But he has had many opportunities to kill me but hasn’t yet, and on top of that, seemingly when to great lengths to rescue me tonight, so getting in the Land Speeder definitely seems like a better option than waiting for the Slaaneshi to show up
>I climb into the Land Speeder, buckle into the harnesses, and then cross my arms over my chest, and leave the ball gag in my mouth, which sort of makes it look like I am pouting, but I am actually just trying to keep warm and also don’t want to start babbling under the influence of the drugs again
>The wind chill is brutal in this thing once it gets up to full speed
>And then soon I will probably be experiencing the joys of Warp travel, and then after that returning to Happy Ending or being sent to some other planet that is packed to the brim with hidden rape cults
>Fuck my life

>Be Lieutenant Abdul Abby.
>My tanks leave the felinids in the dust (or I guess technically snow?) as we chase after the infamous Red Gobbo.
>We follow the trail of boxes around several turning and twisting streets and back allies almost hitting several ex guardsmen civilians just waking up on Candlemass day.
>Finally we find the Winter Guard’s Chimera crashed into a statue of the Lord General.
>Getting out we investigate but find no trace of the Red Gobbo or any hot chocolate rations left.
>Obviously he stole all the rations left in the back, meaning for the second year in a row I don’t get my hot chocolate.
“I’ll get you next year Red Gobbo!” I say shaking my fist in the sky. “Next year!”

As always thank you to everyone who kept this going while I was busy with work or sleeping. I really wish I could’ve taken a bigger role in this with my characters but there’s always next year. Looking forward to the next thread at the end of January by Tom. Merry Candlemas and a Happy New Year!

>I go down the line giving medals to the heroes of Candlemass 025. M42
“For exposing the corruption of the Krieg Colonel and safeguarding the hot chocolate rations, I hereby promote you to the rank of Lord Commissar.”
>I put the medal over Lord Commissar Kate’s head.
“For purging corruption.”
>I put one over commissar Tammy’s head.
“For gathering your forces on such short notice, and guarding the rations so diligently I hereby promote you to second lieutenant.”
>I put a medal over second Lieutenant Abdul’s head, noticing his hair is unusually for a Tallarn.
“For arriving just in the nick of time and chasing down the enemy and saving those survivors left behind in the quarantine zone A.”
>I put one over Freeblade Knight Sir Duke Wenceslaus I‘s head.
“For…”
>I turn to see a post man.
>I check my notes but don’t find any of his accomplishments.

Is it a good advice for game masters who want to run campaign in the "exotic" place instead of generic "coast of swords" clone?

Make your own homebrew world. It's not hard and there are a lot of good resources online for making maps/calendars/historic events/cultural sites.

Nope, I'll play this game and I'll kill all the niggers and there's nothing you can do about it.

>outsiders trying to save the tribal culture
Why would i want to do that. No, my Taldan Nobleman will go there to find some taldan relics from the time the taldan army of exploration went there with a super weapon, but got crushed by demon monkeys. He doesnt give a fuck about the tribal people.

My wizard is looking for ruins of the ancient hyper magic civilization and their flying cities, he too doesnt care about the the tribal guys.

My mystic is looking for that one portal to another planet hidden in Mwangi, the struggles of the locals are their own

And it's totally okay to ignore the advice Paizo gives and the feelings they have about certain people. Take the best, ignore the rest.

>Nothing feels better than locking someone down with a good ol' fashioned Guardian.

Got a deck list? I'll take a general strategy if you don't want to give me a 1:1.
>>
>>97287064
I agree.

One Piece is legitimately the better game and they play very similarly.
>>
>>97287245
Gundam is the better franchise.
>>
>>97287265
I don't care about either IP, I'm just talking games.

Gundam is like pathetically bad, it's really crazy its getting a set 3 and people are hyped.

>Got a deck list? I'll take a general strategy if you don't want to give me a 1:1
I'm more familiar with Shobu era, so I can suggest a mono light deck you can mess around with:
4x Holy Awe
4x La Ura Giga, Sky Guardian
4x Ladia Bale, the Inspirational
4x Larba Geer, the Immaculate
2x Lightning Charger
2x Mist Rias, Sonic Guardian
4x Protective Force
4x Reso Pacos, Clear Sky Guardian
4x Snork La, Shrine Guardian
4x Sol Galla, Halo Guardian
4x Thrumiss, Zephyr Guardian
I suggest finding an alternative for Thrumiss if you plan to play a bit past DM-08.
