I'm sure it's stupid question but - how to get rid of fear from using all accumulated optional/spare parts and bits for kitbashed and customs? I have probably irrational fear from "wasting" these parts and instead of actually using them, I keep hoarding them in boxes. I do have ideas about how to use them but each time I have this inner voice telling me I will simply waste these parts on mediocre at best work.
>>
>>97273365
Well, the easiest and best would be if you'd put them all in a nice big box and sent them all to me.

>Time to try again
The Skald: clan kingdom.
Rulers: king advised by clan council.
Heraldry: the white eye.
Religion: Church adherent totemism.
A brief summary: the Skald are a series of clans in the far south that trace their descent to sea raiders that conquered and enslaved the native bear worshipers. These vikings, however, had a taste for the sagas and sung long into the night with tales about gods, kings, forgotten empires, dead kingdoms, and the corpse halls of the fallen to the point where the slaves began to partake of the sagas themselves. With the Vikings burying their axes and forgoing the old ways of song for that of mummers and sermons, the Skald began to call themselves the Skald. And as more and more information was lost, the Skald became invaluable as lore keepers and historians for they remembered the old secrets.

Recent converts to monotheism, the Skald clans hold that God is the Allfather and that several of the gods they once worshipped are actually different names given to the angels. The Allfather is said to have traded one eye to the primordial ocean for foresight and is represented in three different forms:
>The Warrior King
>The Old Wanderer
>The Broken Man
The Warrior King is the most popular of the three personifications by far and the image used most by Friars when stamping out the Cult. The wanderer is a trickster figure and the most benign of the three, being neither good or evil. The Broken Man is their interpretation of the Second Prophet only he sacrificed himself for power and knowledge in their eyes, not because he felt compassion for mankind.

Friars are aggressively trying to make the Skald compliant with the Church and have had great success in the cities but the countryside is another story. There, many stories abound of Old Snow Bear. He who must be placated with gifts and hearty livestock lest he get enraged.

The Southern Church worships God but has the angels playing a far more prominent role in scripture with each kingdom identifying with one of God's appointed. As a result, you have monastic orders and religious convents devoted to one angel or the other similar to the sainthood from our own world. The lack of a holy trinity with the Angels embodying most aspects of God on their own has led to the Muslims accusing the Southrons of paganism which angers the theologians. God appointed the angels to reign in his steed so they are furthering his will by design.

Stain glass windows are covered with Seraphs, Malakim, Orphanium, Cherubs, and even the Grigorio with a focus on light colors. The devil plays a huge role in theology with him falling when he revolted against the leadership of Ariel who ultimately bested him during the War in Heaven. Casting him down into the fiery pits of hell. Apart of the reason why Muslims dislike them so much is the fact that they have household angels and local divine beings that they still pray to.

The Outremer portray their angels by blacking out the faces to show respect for the divine. Old habits die hard.

Welcome to /wbg/, the thread for the discussion of in-progress settings for traditional games.

Here is where you go to present and develop the details of your worlds such as lore, factions, magic and ecosystems. You can also post maps for your settings, as well as any relevant art. Please remember that dialogue is what keeps the thread alive, so don't be afraid of giving someone feedback or post whatever relevant input you might have, cunt!

Tubal-Cain is descended from Cain and Ham is descended from Ham so it doesn't really work and I find it kinda meh to include biblical mythology and just throw in standard DnD races. I'd want a pseudo-biblical game to have races that seem to fit thematically, so randomly having a race of Dwarves, a race of Orcs, a race of elves, and a race of tiefling sounds boring.
>>
>>97272834

Fair point. It's just a draft of a framework and needs work. Tiefling and Aasimar in particular are very Christian-coded. I think making Tiefling and Aasimar echo the Children of Cain and the Nephalim is a stronger origin story than "my grandpa had sex with a succubus once and here I am." Others might have different mythology. Work in progress

>Nooo you can't have humanoid aliens/fantasy races!
Yes I can because humans and all other life on earth evolved from a common ancestor to the great panspermia of this region of the galaxy. People from alpha centauri looked eerily human to us, and we look eerily centauran to them. Ancient settlers found both planets billions of years ago and created life, which tends to evolve in the same direction based on the genetic code implanted by the biggest lifeseed corporations.

It's a classic space-opera trope, like fantasy having elves and dwarves.
I prefer space-babes to be more like Twi'leks and the like, where they have some nonhuman features along with the skin color instead of just being humans but blue/green. So mine are an amphibian species with tails and head-tendrils.

I know a couple paid GMs, one runs 5e and the other one mostly WH stuff. The later makes more per game, the former gets more clients.
For what I've heard the 5e players need to be coddled, the WH ones are kinda into getting murdered if you make it big and stupid. But I did listening on a convo with a client where the dude kept asking to pay to be better than the other players, like an extra to overshadow them. Not in a tame or jokey way, more of a >you're a retard so I'm gonna tell you how it is, I pay so I win, do you get it? I don't need the rest to have a bad time, just make me better because I'll pay more than them
He milked that dude for a while and then kicked him out.

I used to run open games in a sort of gaming bar. Bands played in the back some nights, they had trivia and movie nights too, but the selling point were the board games and ttrpgs. On open table days they were full and having people trapped there for up to 5 hours doping mental work emptied the bar. I saw them having to get more stuff than expected and still running out. Great night for them.
Now I'm in another city and there's a similar type of shop, but they charge to use their space and have few things to consume (cheap coffee machine, small fridge with non-alcoholic stuff). They also open for just 4 hours. It's empty most of the time. I joined their wassapp group and it was pretty toxic, regular GMs not offering any help and spamming dumb stuff when other people were trying to form a group. So it might be that they are being fucked over by the first people who got there. But I do believe secondary monetization works better than charging initially.

Yeah, that is pretty damn cringe. It reminds me of Washington cities who had to put BLM signs on their windows to hope to avoid antifa smashing their stores or homes. I see see those signs up and I still think they are living in fear.

I think it's pretty pathetic. Both in that the threat of these things needing to be put in ttrpgs turned out to be toothless threats and that how these writers rolled over for the softest representation of terrorism.
>>
>>97270172
Id like to belive Kevin wouldn't put that in a final version. Hes never been anti cop or military so I doubt it would make the final edit.

He's written books for Palladium before but he seems to work in psychology, which is a very left-wing field even by the standards of academia.

But the biggest problem with that Lazlo script isn't that it's got a small pro-BLM blurb in it; it's that it's incredibly boring. Reading the parts on law and order is mind-numbing. Lazlo is just too much of a boring goody-two-shoes lefty-liberal place so unless they spice it up with something really unique and interesting it's the last place players, or GMs, want to go.

I suspect that's what is holding back the book release. Kevin looked at the manuscript and said "Where's the adventure?"

Half of them? I dunno, most d-bee illustrations have been B&W with only the RCC describing coloration but I only remember things visually so it's kind of random for me. I always thought Grackletooths were yellow, for example. It wasn't until Savage Rifts that we got color illustrations for a lot of things.

I've bough the first version some 10 years ago. It's decent enough for what it is - a simple child-friendly miniature-centric boardgame.
Though nowadays I'd get Townsfolk Tussle instead, it fills the same niche better.

I liked the original SDE, disliked the 2nd edition FK rules, then liked it again after the 3rd edition rules that came with Devil Island.

The biggest problem with the game is how much time it takes to set up. It's a ton of time to lay out all the boards, figures, cards; enough so that all the friends I'd play with often balk at starting a game because of the time commitment.

I found more success with the SDE:Arena variant. For whatever reason it's easier to split the workload of setup for Arena than for Regular.

Quick post. I'm doing expert commentary at the Brujah Primogen's fighting tournament.
One of the Bridgeport neo-nazis fell and broke his arm on his way to the ring.
The crowd is going insane, the paramedics are all black, I'm going to be history's first final death by laughter.

Uuuuhh is this a thing? Can all sires turn childer to dust with a gesture? Asking for a friend.
>>
>>97273021
Most sires are not masters of fleshcrafting, but there are other equally deadly and painful disciplines a Cainite could use to extinguish their unruly progeny. So... 50/50? 70/30?
Heck my sire wouldn't even have to kill me to make existence an unliving hell, I could get turned into a pair of conscious boots if I do something unwise. I do not plan to do anything unwise, but they're a centuries old alien, so who knows if I even have that capacity in their eyes.
>>
I AM FUCKING INVINCIBLE HAHAHAHAHA
Didn't quite beat Jesus's resurrection time, but being alive at all is a good enough result for me!

>>97273021
Oh, nah, not at all. It's more a general 'can a vampire do that to somebody' thing, next to no special allowance for if the target's your childe. My Sire could do that to people, if he tried and prepared for it. He usually went for boiling people's blood, or striking them with lightning, which I've taken up, as it's objectively the most impressive. Same night he got torn apart, but like thirty minutes before that, he made a werewolf's bones grow spurs and spikes until it was this skewered mess of fur, flesh, organs, and very angry, growling, somehow just barely alive skeleton with innards falling out. The wolf obviously didn't live very long after, but it was a sight. Not sure how he did it, exactly. I'll be putting effort into figuring it out.

From what I've backread while listening to a woman who likes fishnets too much cackle at me and my overall misfortune, your Sire can probably just skewer you in a blink of an eye, so she kinda-technically qualifies under 'dust with a gesture'.

Do you mean 40k? Anyway the full version of KT, KT is bad, 40k is even worse.
>TOW
Capeshit, this time in the middle ages! I guess it can be on par with AOS if you love dragons and chinese.
>MESBG
Killed by the new edition.

Where did anyone ask?
>>
>the option to wait until new years to fight the final boss in FGO gives you the same retcon ending
Definitely including a toggle to get a more reasonable ending instead. Sasuga nasu.

I never understood why people expected that to be the reason we would have had a different ending, it was pretty explicit it was just Maris breaking you down and making you let her do her plan, wich was immediately after opposed by Olga giving you back fighting spirit.
Anyway I'm expecting a new scenario? Interesting, and thank you for your work.

It really is a shitty thing. But lets see if anything changes in the coming months.

At least Lord Logress is BS powerful. Love the new Excalibur Excelsior.

Imagine caring about the story of a mobile game.
You probably never even read the visual novels.
