I'll start>D&D 5E is a heroic fantasy game (I didn't say good), trying to do anything else should have you using a different system.
>>97825323There is an entire cottage industry of youtubers shitting on not just D&D in general, but specific books and modules, you fucking moron.Reddit has dedicated subs for doing the exact same thing.RPGnet is pretty famous and equally vocal for hating 1d20 games, D&D and its direct derivatives in particular.Twitter doesn't even exist anymore, and it's still all about drama about [insert whatever subject].The only one I could have a reason to believe your claim is dfrivethrourpg, simply because it's a shilling platform and anythigg bad for the product gets removed (game in question being irreverent, they just protect their own investment)
>>97825333I'd argue that, because of the way d&d is designed, it's pretty much defacto required that every player has their own phb.
>>97801399> there's no trap options for classesEeehhh like depends on the version. Base 2014 monk and ranger (and sometimes barbarian depending on the subclass) usually were pretty rough
>>97825495Well, that's the whole point: more books sold. Who needs a system that requires a single book on the table, if you can sell 6 to the exact same group of people?
>>97821203Yeah, if you specifically select the situations where my character would make suboptimal decisions, then my character would make suboptimal decisions. Most of the time, though, my character wants to live and to win, just like me.

Recently I found some Humanity Fuck Yeah YouTube videos that use AI voice narration on my feed. After using them as background noise while cleaning my apartment I found that that most of them are more or less the same. Humans are the only ones who know how to fight/love sex/survive/etc. How can we save the genre or reinvent it so it isn't so stale?
>>97825233star trek also has humans outfighting the warrior race and outespionaging the espionage race, as well as imprinting their inherent value upon the literally omnipotent and omniscient raceits actually peak hfy before people even thought up hfy, its probably cause roddenberry was such an idealist

Did my first batch of texturing my bases last night and am in the process of cleaning the excess off the flagstones. Aside from just getting opinions on how they look so far I have a couple of questions.1. What would be a good way to remove the excess from the top and sides of the stones without removing any of the primer? Right now I'm just scraping it off with a toothpick but it's going to take a while at this rate.2. Is there a decent way to apply the texture paste in between the flagstones without getting it all over them? I thinned it down with some water but I probably added too much. I'm thinking it might be a ratio problem but there could be something I haven't thought of.
>>97825570I'm sorry, I just refreshed and deleted my in depth answer. It's one of those days.Just smear it on and wipe it off with a wet qtip or finger while still wet like real tile grout. I prime after the texture paste, not before, so I don't have the same issue of trying to clean it up without disturbing the primer. I recommend just doing it and priming again after.

How would you make machines that are not built for military use dangerous enough that they can't be steam rolled right away?So far the idea I'm going with is the majority of an invading alien force is that they primarily work on resource extraction and ignore things until they get in their way. Human shooting at them would obviously constitute this.My initial thinking is that they would adapt some of their tools or make impromtu weapons to defend themselves and keep the Humans at bay like giants swinging trees around or something.I guess what I'm asking is what else can I have them do to be dangerous and prolonge the fight? It's suppose to be a conflict that lasts 15+ years for Humans to finally kick them off of Earth before going out into the Solar system to deal with them else where (and keep adapting their technology).

>>97825172The Hellknight feels like an interesting concept with a Fighter focusing on damage over time, but it really just ends up being X uses of Searing Smite per day. Especially when they already introduced a Burning condition in the 2024 PHB. Why couldn't the subclass be 'When you deal Fire damage with your Hellfire weapon, the creature you hit starts Burning'.1d4 damage wouldn't be anything special, but it also means that the creature has to use an action to drop prone to extinguish themselves instead, doesn't have a capped duration, and can't cure it just by regaining hitpoints.
>>97825212>>97825239>The cleric can spend a minute passively building up exhaustion on enemies and then if they die gets to blow them up and deal 3d6 damage to everything around them (of your choice) a number of times equal to their primary stat>The fighter gets to add 1d6 once per turn a number of times equal to their secondary stat to apply a debuff that can be ended by any healing or a single action, but if you get lucky and roll a 6 it can also explode for a handful of damage (which can hurt yourself/allies)What were they thinking lmao
>>97813902Would giving martials Musou-like attack ranges help bridge the divide with casters at higher levels? Basically multiply the range of melee attacks by their proficiency bonus and make all the attacks cones that cleave every other enemy in the area for partial damage. Flavor it as sword beams, air pressure from the strength of your swings, whatever. Ranged attacks instead just get a % increase in range = 10x the prof bonus or something.
>>97825321Debatable. It helps out their damage against groups of enemies, but at the same time even a 20-30 foot cone can be awkward to catch more than a few enemies in depending on the size of the space. It certainly wouldn't hurt though.I'd also say for ranged attacks you could have it be a line attack instead, piercing through enemies until it hits some solid cover.
>>97824802The class concepts are nice but these rules look weak compared to what we already have. Titan druid stat blocks need one big smash attack rather than 1d8 multi attacks. Demon sorcerer is pretty cool. Death knight feats and Hell knight look shit. Plague needs a spread mechanic.

the lucemon tamer is a beach boys reference due to the etymology of his last name. due to the etymology of his first name he is likely a charles manson reference. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u90beUXTKwoif u think this is schizo posting consider how obscure the reference in heavymetaldramon is.
