Where do people actually play VTT in 2025?
I searched for games on Roll20 for the first time in probably 5 years, and it's an absolute fucking ghost town.

>D&D games
>Stock imagine of clearly a game of craps

I didn't knew casinos started doing D&D, the dice rolling can get addictive if your character life is on the line
>>
>>97269843
Unironically go hit up an ERP thread on trash or find a trpg room on f-list they're all desperate to actually play a fucking game but they're erpers and 80% of them are terrified of being heard. I build my empire out of the 20%, they're utterly shameless hardened roleplayers as grateful for a good home as I am grateful for dedicated artists, if you're looking for a text game you'll have an easier time.

You might have to peg or be pegged a couple of times to infiltrate their circles, but honestly probably not.
>>
>>97276887
I got autocorrected from autist to artist, but I love them so I'll let it stand.
>>
>>97275480
I did find a couple of those, and I'm not sure how I feel about them
I've never done westmarches and it seems like it would really undercut roleplay
I may end up going that route, but I'd really like to find a real game

>>97276069
Play-by-post is an absolute fucking disaster for anything but straight up freeform roleplay

>>97276743
You're joking but I unironically think this day will come
The amount of paid-DM games I came across is insane
The hobby is getting commercialized to hell and back

>It's all one client now. Reforged is just graphical changes. Frozen Throne and Reign of Chaos have sinced been combined into one program.
WHich added a lot of bugs and fucked the balance of the RoC campaign by switching everything to the damage and armor types of TFT.

I do like that WC2 remake though I think it's going a bit too far to make both campaigns canon right up to Stromgarde, Stratholme, Dalaran, and Lordaeron City getting totally/mostly destroyed. The book version definitely went too far the other way and made the Horde seem a non threat, but this doesn't really work either. Plus integrating all that NuLore like the Void stuff.

NTA but an MTF is literally called "Kaijumancers" in SCP-5000, but there's probably another MTF that you're thinking of.

The Fishman is stopped in his tracks; a golden hand stopping his fist.

"No. I won't let you do that."

The Super Beaver appears!

The Fishman is taken aback in shock!

"N-No! The Legendary Super Beaver, allied with /mcyoag/? It's not possible!"

"Seeing is believing, Fishman."

The Super Beaver's power surges around the area, as everything turns white. He and the impaled Damned Fishman float in a white void.

"I have prepared for your arrival, Damned Fishman. My power as the Super Beaver allows me to stop the flow of all... even time."

"W-WHAT!? IMPOSSIBLE! T-THAT MEANS...!"

"Yes. I have already created a Time Dam, from before you cracked the /mcyoag/ Dam."

The Damned Fishman watches as the Super Beaver pulls him along through time, back to the Time Dam. All his hard work, growing more and more distant.

"N-No! NOOOOOOOOOO!"

Color returns to the world.

Bounty Hunter Wars trilogy is really slow and drawn out, listen to the abridged Audiobooks instead.

Tales of the Bounty Hunters is better. BHW uses the Shadows of the Empire Comic characterization for 4LOM and Zuckuss and sucks because of it, contradicting Tales of the Bounty Hunters entirely till the third book TRIES to make sense of it and still fails.
>>
>>97279863
>comics from specifically before the release of the prequels
Crimson Empire is a classic with yet another protagonist who looks like Clint Eastwood
There's Shadow Stalker, practically unknown for some reason
Mara Jade By the Emperor's Hand is another thing worth reading

No Dark Empire, but I do like parts of it
There are some Boba Fett comics but I'd only recommend them if you like the guy
Never bothered with the cheesy comics from the 70s/80s, but some people like them

In general, all the good stuff was released after the prequels, in the early 2000s

I want to get into TTRPGs, but have only one person I can force into this. What are some good TTRPGs that work well with two people? Ironsworn? I see some recommendations of that. Any advice for a first timer? Would be the one one running the game as well.
My only experience in this 'field' is running RP guilds in World of Warcraft.

Furthermore, it would be preferred if the game, for this first time, is a bit more simple. Just to dip our toes in. See how it is.

Ironsworn functions more like a board game
D&D/similar is based around party play
I'd recommend GURPS, but you want something simple so I instead recommend Mythras

I want to buy a printer, but I also don't want to drop a significant amount of money on something that I am going to have to then spend even more money on to replace once I hit the clear and obvious barriers the printer has as a "starter" option. I have $1,250 to blow, what're my options?
>>
>>97280107
Resin or fdm? Either way, that's way more than you should be spending. Even Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra 16K is like $400.
>>
>>97280137
I was looking at a specific project I wanted to do, and the YouTuber who made it was shilling a Bambu that got $2k.

So FDM? What's the project? Unless it's some sort of cosplay props that are fuckhueg, just get a Creality or ELEGOO Centauri. You don't need all the bells and whistles at first, just get something that'll let you learn the basics of filaments, bed levelling, print settings and shit. Then you can buy addons like multi-filament expansions and stuff.

What was your first game of 2026, anons? Earlier today I played Arnak for the first time, 2p game with my wife. I quite enjoyed it, thought we wouldn't get to do all too much seeing as there's only 5 rounds of 2 worker placements each, but there was enough to do with card actions and misc. free actions. I think I'll get the expedition leaders thing soon. Also looking forward to playing with 3 or 4 people to see how it differs with numbers of location tiles and competition for sites.
>>
>>97280466
I won't say it's pathetic, but if you have anything like a decent income it's simply not worth the time. Giving them away is the best option, and could get you laid too.

Before you ask, I'm giving away games to a school where a friend of a friend is a teacher. She was interested, and unfortunately I'm not available. Still, that's one avenue for you lonely fellas out there.

I'm usually far too lazy to bother selling my stuff, but my local club does a buy/sell/trade table so I usually put them on there for a few quid and if they're not gone after a couple of sessions I'll give them to a charity shop.
>>
>>97280595
The next level of this is just volunteer playing board games with people who are receiving mental/physical support in hospital or agency setting. You'll meet a ton of people, especially women. But no one actually wants to go through the effort of being prosocial. I get a lot of people who want to volunteer because they think my clients are projects to 'fix' and want to feel like superheroes by doing fuckall for a couple weeks before disappearing

>>97280632
Ive done something similar where if I don't have anyone who i can specifically give a game to I put it up at my spot and just ask for people to put their name and then raffle it. Its prosocial and builds community for zero effort but I dont do it anymore since I dont buy games I dont play often and keep
>>
>>97280466
All my games are sold and pay for new games. I add, at most, 50 bucks worth of game per year
