When did Magic players get so delusional? The performative outrage about UB has got to be some of the most faggy outrage ive seen in this game. If you bought/played with any secret lair cards or LotR cards then you have no room to complain about the current trajectory, this is your fault. If you are anti UB because they dont "fit" Mtgs setting, but purchased/played Neon Dynasty, Thunder Junction, Duskmourn, Aetherdrift, or Edge then you have no media literacy because they are all basicly UB sets without an IP attached. Stop posting like UB is the death of magic, I remember when we thought Mythic rarity was going to be the end and now look at this bullshit. Its going to keep going on until people are done playing the game and move to something else, and theres not a single TCG right now that could take its place. >inbf I proxy so I winYou are a faggot in denial, if you play the game in anyway, you are coupable in this. >>97388865>"this is actually fine and you doing the above shows you secretly like it"Im not sure where this is coming from, but if you keep playing the game then yeah you cant really complain because this is not a new direction. >>97388146It's harder and isn't a world. The Victorian period is really a specific class in a specific place. It requires familiarity with a lot of social mores you've never experienced, and relies on specific technologies and politics. It's harder to understand and has less room for adventure. Also they're not anywhere close to the same thing. I assume you mean the gothic literary period, which starts in the century prior to the Victorian period and is more Romantic. You probably misinterpret it as being based on authors like Poe, but it's not. It's based on authors like Walpole and Ratcliff, who you've probably never read. Who the hell even knows Romance of the Forest or the Italian, which are the two greatest works of gothic fiction and possibly two of the best English-language novels ever written? They've completely fallen outa public consciousness. But who hasn't seen robin hood and king arthur cartoons? You grew up knowing what a medieval fantasy romp looks like. You've never even heard of the best gothic novels ever written.

>>97386217Absolutely blessed session 0, good job choom.>I like the screamsheet format for adventures, they give you a story framework but leave most of the work in the GM's handsThis is pretty much what I do, I just skim a gig and get inspired for something of my own design. For example for the extremely well-written Agents of Desire I changed the Saturday Night Butt Kickers final battle to the crew infiltrating a yakuza lair (I mean come on if the idea was that Ai's engram could be cloned and copied as a free AI slave forever I feel like a bigger player would get it, not a technobarbarian gang), or for A Night at the Opera I set up the evil vampires as a huge infective presence down to even some NCPD having vampyre fangs and indoctrinated into the masquerade. And like most ref's I read Reaping the Reaper and thought that this plot point deserves a lot more love and made Reaper and his cloned AI into a more persistent threat. Also I took the various Bozo jobs and it inspired me to make an entire campaign out of it.

>>97384894It comes down to the individual planet in question. Feral and medieval worlds will probably understand Space Marines as angels or the like, told to them by Missionaries. Joining the Guard is akin to going to Valhalla. Likely they will not know what a SoB is, unless they are actually on the planet. For more advanced worlds, these are all things that get disseminated through media, which is controlled by the Ministorum and acts primarily as propaganda vehicles. There's an understanding that being tithed to the Guard means joining the Imperium's army, and for most military types it's seen as an honor since it means your skills as a warrior and soldiers are recognized as being the best on the planet. Astartes are more likely to be thought of as just more elite soldiers of the Imperium, their actual practices probably will be mostly unknown. There are sometimes deals worked out between chapters and governors for protection and trade, and this makes them a much more mundane fact of life as you can bet the governor will brag about this in his propaganda. SoB will again be less understood, there's just less of them, they're not an order you can join, and how the Ecclesiarchy is organized on a planet is probably less penetrating than you'd think, your average Preacher most likely has no real connection to the organization. Most likely, the SoB will be thought of like Papal Swiss Guard, weird but not outrageous pomp and ritual, and armed guards for important people is just an accepted fact throughout the Imperium. The different divisions of their orders will be unknown.
>>97381244>stick to your guns and get no gameLiterally never been an issue for me. I'm pretty sure you're just saying this to demoralize people for some reason.>>97383983Okay, now I'm completely sure you're lying.
>>97386723This is a pretty good summary. I want to add, however, that the Imperium has a vested interest in letting the populace know about things like Space Marines and the Inquisition (so that people fear and revere them appropriately). The sisters less so, but the fact they wear the insignias of the Ecclesiarchy and spout holy scripture all day long probably makes it clear who they are if they show up - they don't really need stories about them. Nice to see people actually care about how information dissemination works in the Imperium, though. Last Dark Heresy campaign I was in, the feral world guardsman and the arbites beat cop were happily discussing the details of Necron gauss technology, and nobody batted an eyelash when the cog polisher-tier tech priest laid out the rights and privileges of a rogue trader.

>>97381462>Actual loser mentality because what's the point of playing if you're not doing it with friends.Personally, I'd like to make some friends by trawling the web for people who share my mindset... although my experience tells me that this is impossible for some reason. People would just rather apply to game after game after game and watch them crumble, rather than come together as a group and put in effort to build something actually good. Maybe it's the effort part, that they'd rather hold out hope that some day someone else will just do everything for them, or maybe they're so afraid of disappointment that they refuse to actually get invested in anything. Oh well. I have half a mind to offer to trade services, run somebody else's dream game for him if he does the same for me, but I'd probably just get some jackass to sting me for a one-shot and then disappear.

>>97371896... Roll 1D20Character Background 1. Raised by WargsAbandoned in the wild, you were suckled and raised by feral wolf-beasts. You learned your surroundings through scent. Your speech is a guttural growl. You have a strong pack instinct, but know that only the strongest survive. You carry little but your scars and trust only in tooth and claw.2. DrunkardYou find your only solace in mind-numbing brews—grog, draughts, liquors, fermented fungus-rot and worse. They grant you fleeting courage and blur the edges of a miserable existence. You are a braggart in your cups and a twitching, anxious wreck without them.3. DeserterYou abandoned your warband and fled. Now you are hunted by your former kin, living a life of paranoia like a rat in the fringes.4. Goblin-Market HagglerYou grew up in stinking, makeshift bazaars, trading stolen trinkets, rotten food, and occult information. You are a liar and a thief with a sharp silver (if blackened) tongue and a network of untrustworthy contacts.5. Ritual PairingYou were bred for a specific purpose from selected stock—a biological tool given self-awareness.6. Pit FighterYour life was a series of brutal, one-on-one fights in the gladiatorial pits. You know the roar of the blood-hungry crowd and how to keep fighting when exhausted and wounded. The chaos of open battle is unnerving to you.Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>973890118. ProphetYou divine omens from bones, the patterns in smoke, the flight of carrion birds, and the entrails of the slain. Your prophecies are always of doom, betrayal, and ruin. You are feared and resented, for you are often right, and get blamed for the bad news you bring.9. Snuffler in the DeepYou were sent into tunnels deep and old. You have walked in absolute silence in total blackness, and have seen shapeless things that gnaw on the roots of the world. The open sky feels like an oppressive void to you.10. Lash-Master's PetYou were an enforcer for an overseer. You wielded the whip to keep the slave-lines moving. You are cruel, precise, and understand how to break a spirit without killing the body. You have a commanding snarl that lesser orcs instinctively obey, but true warriors see you as a weakling bully.11. Tunnel RatYou were small enough to be sent into cramped, dark tunnels to fight. You're claustrophobic but deadly in close quarters.12. Poison-GutYou were a food-taster for a paranoid orc-captain. You built a formidable resistance to toxins, but your innards are permanently ruined. You live with constant, grinding agony.13. CowardYou survived great battles by running and hiding. When the line broke, you would bury yourself beneath the fallen. Other orcs despise you and spit at your feet, but hey you're alive.14. ArsonistYou like fire. No, you LOVE fire! Fire! Fire! FIRE! You were always picked on for being scrawny, but you showed them and you burned their shelters! Burned them to the ground! Ha ha!Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>9738901715. HexerYou practice the black magic of your kind: crafting curse-fetishes, brewing weakness-potions, casting the evil eye. Your power is small, spiteful, and rooted in superstition, but enough to make you feared by the common brute.16. War ChanterYou pounded the war-drum, screached vulgar battle-cries and growled songs of ruin. Your chants made the enemy's steps falter, their blades feel slow, and fear curdle in their guts. You know that the right rhythm can turn any brawl into a slaughter. 17. Runt of the LitterYou were always the smallest, picked on by every bigger orc. You survived by being quick, vicious, and clever. Stabbing ankles from the shadows, setting traps, and knowing when to flee. You are easily startled, agile, and resentful.18. Last of your KindA single night of fire and steel erased your entire clan. You crawled from beneath their piled corpses. Now you wander with no banner—a vessel of solitary grief and vengeance with no one left to share it.19. The Long-ToothYou have seen more moons than any orc should. You remember battles whose names are forgotten, and older, harsher ways.20. Demon-SeedYour creation involved demonic essence. A spark of that malice burns within you, giving you a cruel intelligence that common orcs cannot fathom.
