Not buying into stormcast until Sigmar himself gets a model.

Or at least until prime himself gets an update.

>presuming intelligent people are the primary users of these tools
>not acknowledging that the main consumerbase being pandered to are morons who need to ask for direction on how to wipe their own asses
Guns are a symbol of modern humanity's ability to make nature its bitch, yet we still collectively look down upon rednecks and anyone with darker melanin who wields them with the patience and self-control of children armed with squirt guns
Humanity does not fear AI, they fear the retards who read the Roko's Basilisk thought experiment and decided that sounds like a REALLY good idea and are wasting every single dollar trying to accelerate its creation

>the most productive tools
The numbers consistently show that implementation of AI results in a drop in productivity. Moreover, in the case of tabletop RPGs, I can observe that the time spent on prompting AI and editing the output to reach what I would consider a baseline level of acceptable quality is greater than the amount of time it would take me to simply write the things myself.

>which, though still work in progress, is sure to stand as one of humanity's masterpieces
I'm not even going to bother contesting this because we simply can't know what the end state of the technology will look like. I know what it looks like now, however. The possibility that a future iteration might be better doesn't give any value to wasting my time with the inferior products that exist today. Not when I can achieve better results without them.

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What Trench Crusade is not
TC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

>How do I get started?

It's the same deal, the female bodies are still 0.5% of the bunch
It's kitbash tits plus heads plus bodies and at that point I'm making female minis myself
>>
>>97228314
Making 'official mini's', and thus opening the game up to hobby newfags who can't sculpt or kitbash something as basic as a set of tits, has truly ruined the game.

how the hell do you have so few models?
my starting venator gang has basically the same roster but with an added ogryn champ + arc welder and one of the gangers is a shooting champion with a long rifle
>>
About necromunda...is there anything close to one box army in a similar way to the one box team in BB or some kill teams? Or would I need several of the same box?
>>
>>97229341
if you have a bits box with a few weapons and you're ok with magnetizing or snapping of arms every few games to put in better weapons, a single box is all you need.

>>97229374
Thanks! Any tips on youtube channels that focus on necromunda?
>>
>>97229419
I usually watch Necrorundown, but maybe it's a bit too gameplay focused, remember necromunda is the game where you fuck around.

This is a highly niche question, but: what's the best TTRPG anthology you've ever read, and what made it good in your opinion?
>>
>>97229406
In the context of games, what is an anthology?
>>
>>97229412
Something like a collection of different games intentionally created/presented together (as opposed to e.g. incidentally packed together in a Bundle of Holding, or because they're all variants of the same game, etc.).
>>
>>97229406
You mean like 200wRPG Anthology? or like "Seven wonders RPG" anthology?
>>
>>97229445
I had something more like Seven Wonders in mind, but I guess something indie from completely different creators (e.g. from a game jam) would also definitely count.
>>
>>97229438
So why would someone just read them, as opposed to actually playing them?

Welcome to the New School Revolution General, the thread dedicated to games derived from the OSR movement.

>What is NSR?
>NSR is a subcategory of the OSR, it mostly follows the same play style but experiments further with the mechanics and settings.
>Broadly NSR games have a gm, a living world, are rules light, deadly and focus on emergent narrative, interaction and exploration.

Meta discussions or drama of the games and its creators aka shadowboxing with twitter, reddit and the OSRG (frens with osrbros)
>stay on topic

Shadowdark, into the odd, mausritter, cairn, mörk borg (and its hacks), dungeon crawl classics, mothership, knave, troika!, whitehack, blackhack, old school essentials (we know this is just a retroclone), etc.

We mostly talked about mothership, which had enough hype to get enough people playing it a bit. The rest is a lot harder to get into beyond very basic dungeon outline or room content advice and even then mechanical distinctions in a lot of nsr is all over the place so the discussions get very vague and abstract. Which is feasible for a bit but one can only say
>make sure the room has interactivity
in some many ways.

This is a second OSRG, seperate from the main osrg thread, where you CAN talk about 2e, retroclones, and any osr content you want.
This is different than the regular osrg as due to rampant trolling from a handful of bad actors, discussion is impossible.

It pretty much was a master stroke of marketing.

The OSR was getting a bad name thanks to the BrOSR, and Shadowdark was an OSR game that would prefer being called OSR-adjacent made by a lesbian woman who somehow avoided putting in any colors at all, let alone rainbows.

And, it promised the OSR-feel without the antiquated mechanics everyone hates. That's like promising cake that helps you lose weight.

GURPS is a modular, adaptable system, capable of running a wide range of characters, settings, and play styles, with a level of detail varying from lightweight to completely autistic.
Optional rules allow you to emulate different genres with a single system, or even switch genres within a single game.

A nearly complete archive of GURPS books can be found by using the image. Never post direct links to the archive anywhere in plain text.

If you're wondering where to start:
- The Basic Set covers everything, including a lot of optional rules you probably won't use.
- A genre guide can be found in the archive, under Unofficial/GURPSgen. It tells you what extra books and articles you may find useful for many common genres.
- How To Be a GURPS GM is a good read even for players.
- GCS (gurpscharactersheet.com) is an excellent character-builder software, with page references to all the books and the option to export to both Foundry and Fantasy Grounds.

Thread question: How often do you use an official GURPS setting? Which are your favorites?

Where in the 2ed rulebook does it describe the consequences of being on fire? It's not under psychology.

In 2ed you can't fire through other models in the same unit, right? I couldn't find the exception.

Special rules for flame weapons in the armory book
>In 2ed you can't fire through other models in the same unit, right? I couldn't find the exception.
nope, no exception, although large targets can be sighted over smaller models. In practice it rarely matters because of the severe firing arc restrictions, and because sighting any model in an opposing squad is enough. You also wind up splitting fire a LOT more in 2e than you'd think. Losing split fire entirely was actually one of the bigger complaints when the edition change rolled out. Letting you fire through models in the same squad was partly a quick-fix for that. A whole bunch of the tweaks in 4e were trying to get around people using precise unit placement and range fuckery to "snipe" exactly the models they wanted out of an enemy unit, as well as prevent the defender from playing shell games with wounds to avoid losing specific models.

>>
>>97225200
Don't have my 4th ed book on hand but it could be a technical ruling in the sense no one ever tried so it didn't come up.
Might be that the avatar counts as a daemon and they can't join units iirc but I don't remember if they were keywording things like that yet.
How did the Court of the Young King work? That seems like the most working example of maybe having a monstrous creature daemon in a unit of regular sized models.
