We've reached the point where GMs are now producing AI slop responses both in and out of character.

I don't mind people using AI on the hobby as long as it's just a tool and not something that vomits out your entire character for you.

As an eternal GM I'm absolutely against using AI for entire characters ever since a player tried to pull a sneaky one on me two years back and gave me the most generic, stereotypical, soulless character I've seen, so much so I actually got angry he wasted my time. Nowadays with things getting more advanced, I allow them to take suggestions or even major plot snippets for their backgrounds from it, as long as they write it and brainstorm the whole themselves.

AI is great as a tool and when used correctly can really improve your quality as a GM/player. Even better in the art department, if you take some time to avoid generating soulless and obvious AI images and do more nuanced stuff which you edit/draw to give you more of a human touch. Hell, things lile notebook from Jewgle even helped in summarizing extensive texts in quick infographs (that yes, I needed to correct in a few parts) for newbies in busy weeks when I could go on a call/meeting every night.

>>97223412
You'll have people playing characters they don't have any idea how to play as because they didn't think through their personality, traits, what each part of his life brought him and such. I have predicted about 100% of the AI-written characters people sent me, even when they tried to rewrite something. For some reason the lazy fucks never bothered to make the text itself any less generic and soulless.
>>
>>97223329
It is kind of spooky how fast one learns to detect AI slop text. I've been using chatgpt to turn my autistic, horribly formatted ESL ramblings about my worldbuilding projects and ideas related to them into more coherent and better formatted texts and on default settings while the contents of the stuff I ask it to reformat remain the same, the tone often shifts to the weirdly synchopathic/positive HR lady shit which I find very annoying. Every time I see that tone in writing these days I instantly assume the text to have been written by Chatgpt.

I'd stay stick around, newfag, but there's not much to stick around for.
>>
>>97230358
If OP supposedly made a thread for discussion, a good step to supporting that claim would be to discuss the responses he's been given.
You can't say "it's an open discussion" and then flip to "well you can't force it" when called out on the lack of discussion.
>>
>>97230789
I've been to these kind of threads before and it just ends up with people claiming that OP is necro bumping and it drives people away
>>
>>97230809
Right, so it isn't an open discussion, then.
>>
>>97230789
It also helps if OP has something he actually wants to discuss, like Mutant-themed games, or games with cool Mutation mechanics, or something. Not just...
>what do you guys think about mutants?

How do you justify a "pest race" like goblins or rat people in your setting? Why wouldn't the dominant species make a concentrated effort to eradicate them if they were a problem?

I know this is a 1pbtID bot thread, but ive considered this before
so in my setting, the answer is that they are very widespread, numerous, and often tucked away into tight dark caves
they are used by stronger evil races as slaves, so you wont have access to all of them anyway without going against said stronger races
civilization in my setting is less widespread and more isolated from each other, so there is no real capacity to organize and man such an endeavor
elves, dwarves, hobbits, etc do pretty good at keeping them mostly out of their homelands except in low numbers

Perception and Agility with a Strength requirement to use.
>>
>>97227798
This game has unironically best rules for bows and crossbows
>You either pass the minimum requirements of specific bow type, or you can't use it, period
>Bows use both general body agility and raw strength, in different ways, depending on bow type
>The stat governing your attacks is Perception, because it's about aiming your shot, given you either can or can't draw the bow in the first place and don't need rolls for that
>Taking extra time to aim requires to pass Strength check
>By themselves, crossbows have no stat requirements, and if you stick to regular ones, they are strictly superior to bows due to that
>Crossbows up to certain weight can be reset manually, but you need to pass Strength or Agility check (whichever lower)
>You can only do this as many times as your Constitution (1-5)
>Bows and crossbows deal damage from two sources: raw projectile and aiming
>This way you can use a hunting bow to kill a human if you know where to hit, or you simply draw a longbow/crossbow and use the raw dice pool of those to get shit done
>With heavy enough crossbow and good aim, you can take down anything you wish
>Due to the way how defence against projectiles is counter, "lucky peasant with a crossbow" is very much a thing, unless you have a shield
This game has many various issues (like the lack of grading - everything is either ass or superhuman, no middle ground), but bow and corssbow rules are perfection
>>
>>97223103

This is different than the regular osrg as due to rampant trolling from a handful of bad actors, discussion is impossible.

GAZE attacks**

for fuck sakes my speech to text is turning the freaking frogs gay!
>>
>>97230827
There's somebody that's trying to talk about the games that this threat is built for, and instead of talking about games you would rather complain that he is somehow upsetting you by talking about games?

>>97230815
I prefer the active attack against a group method, giving the players a chance to avert their eyes even if they lose initiative, as long as they are not surprised. But not everybody in the whole room, just everybody in the roughly forward facing arc.
Gaze attacks are fairly underrated imo, they don't have to be save or die effects, the blindheim that somebody mentioned a while back is a fun example. I remember you mentioned that gaze table was from the monster manual ii? If you could tell me the monster entry that would be great, I don't mind looking myself but I'd prefer to save the 5 minutes

I'm not sure where this venomous belligerence is coming from. Are you really just here to endlessly shitpost and troll drama?

If you care about this thread stop posting about how much you don't like people, and start posting about games.
Do you have not a single original thought insight or comment about the nature of gaze attacking?

Finding the dismembered bodies of an underhive gang arranged to spell out an insult to the local enforcers should result in gaining insanity (but not corruption), unlike if the body parts had been used to lay out a chaos ritual, which would give both.

This is why I'm a big Pure Faith enjoyer. It making your pc immune to corruption gained by daemonic presence is huge and Holy Radiance carried a few encounters early on for the crackolytes, including allowing Galen to burn a fate point to ignore a possession attempt. which resulted in Callidia being posessed instead, ironically, for character development
But not everyone can be that faithul so I understand >>97224016 , even our psyker was only gaining 1 CP and one IP each time he tried divinations and saw the Tyrant Star again, and that's the Tyrant Star, not just some chaos dreadnought

I do not trust this guy's gm's processs.
>>
>>97223161
When I ran Deathwatch, the Republican Commandos fought enemies whose main gimmick was insanity - seeing them caused insanity, getting hit caused insanity, damage was resisted with insanity, having more insanity increased your damage against them, etc. It was a ton of insanity spam. Even then, when they got the From Beyond trait after a real-life year of the game, their insanity was only in the 60's.

Very interesting. What about for a Mage midway into becoming a Nephandus but not quite there? I suppose the main part of the question is I'm planning a Nephandus as the final enemy for my VtM players and I'd like to work through a couple of scenarios where it would be possible to deal with him without outright violence. Granted I'm not going to let them go

that's again something a widderslainte can be: they can fight the influence of their inverted avatar, lose and be currently on the way towards full nephandi evil but not being quite there despite being technically a nephandus from the moment they awaken. While for a barabbus it's again pretty binary either they are one or they are not because entering a caul is a one time deal as you either become a nephandus or you die

there is however a third option not all infernalist mages are nephandi: a mage can have a tainted avatar (investments) and even one that is so far usurped by a demon that it tries to tempt them into becoming a nepandus but till they go to the caul and fundamentally change themselves and their avatar they are 100% not a nephandus on a methaphisical level and have full free will (minus what they may or may not sold to a demonic patron)

Most gang boxes except cawdor make you a workable gang 2bh, Id usually pick up another box as and when I needed them during a campaign.
I never found weapons changed frequently enough to warrant magnetizing hands and shit, I just used a second box to make new leaders when needed.

>Sanity
I've never seen a table use the sanity system, which is funny because I had a DM once who run a short "horror" story using a homebrew system of his (he had no idea the sanity system existed).
>Taint
I've used it in a campaign, but I wouldn't combine it with the sanity system (since they both kinda fit the same niche, with a different flavor).
>Flaws
I use them every time and my group considers them a "default" choice when making characters.
>Spell Points
I have two people in the group that never want to use spell slots ever again after they learnt about spell points, and honestly I don't even mind (when I DM).

Anyways, I've used several subsystems (both as a player and a DM), but using ALL of them... yeah no, never thought about it and not really interested to be honest.
