Covering black primer is like that, most paints will take at least two thin coats. If you want to do a heavily weathered corroded gold look you can do one coat and lean into the uneven coverage, make those spots darker for weathering or damage. A second thin coat will look a lot more even if that's what you want.

Just tgr consistent rape of D&D lore. Everything must be sacrificed on the altsr of wokeness. Therr arr no races because that's problematic. So dragonmarks have to not carr about race eifher.
>>
>>97201622
I'd expect >>97202526 is correct, and the Dragonmark houses aren't too concerned so long as they're able to press someone into joining in order to maintain their monopoly.

That said, it's also not quite correct. The captain of the airship is a Halfling, and the Shifter NPC is a ghost that is haunting the magical core and helm of the ship. There is a DC 9 Arcana check that mentions the Halfling isn't a member of House Lyrandar though, and instead the ghost is what lets anyone control it.
I think the implication is that this is some sort of smuggling operation with a special unsanctioned airship, and while that would explain the Dwarf employer's cargo, the book doesn't really lean into it by suggesting that's why the pirates themselves were trying to hijack the vessel.

Really the backstory of this Halfling and how he got his hands on a ghost ship is far more interesting than anything that actually happens during the adventure.

Is it just people buying into Riftbound for the hype or is the game actually fun?
Was a League and Runeterra player and I didn't have any interest in Riftbound at all because the art I saw was just lame recycles, looked soulless compared to Runeterra.

I feel like this edition has alot of objectively bad things about it and is absolutely where the alot of worst qualities of current editions showed up. But I feel like I prefer playing this edition compared to a lot of previous editions and 10th edition. Its a weird transitional period where there's still a lot of the old units that haven't been legended yet while still having the fucking Primaris lot. Its strange but I don't feel like I'm missing out on much staying on this edition and playing with friends casually instead of going back to playing the current edition.

>Then the stratagem-bloat happened.
This might sound stupid, but I only play 40k with my brother and neither of us ever used stratagems. What was so "bloat"-ish about them?
>>
>>97199206
Barely use stratagems either in casual play. Main issue for me is that there are so many of them in each codex for each army and its cumbersome to try and remember when to use them effectively. And that alot of them feel like they should be apart of the army or equipment inherently sometimes.
>>
>>97186108
i thought it was pretty fun, it was some of the most warhammer i had played since 4th.

it was also the last edition before they started adding all this obnoxious "action" crap for objectives
>>
>>97186108
To me its the point where the rules side of 40k utterly falls apart. Its also the edition I started with. I've since gone back and even 7th, which most people consider a total piece of shit, is vastly superior.
>>
>>97202425
Is there any specific inclusions in the 7th edition ruleset that you think would make 8th edition's set better?

I've been on a space kick recently and want to run a sci-fi space campaign as the GM. What are the best systems for a flexible gaming experience without the autistic complexity of something like Shadowrun? I'm looking for a system that can run "magic" (Psionics, occultists, dark gods, etc) and high-tech weaponry and ships and stuff as well as madness mechanics mutations, cybernetics, horror elements, etc. Visiting weird planets, dealing with intergalactic politics, smuggling goods, assassinations, dealing with alien cultures, learning dangerous magic and technology, etc. I also want the players help make the setting so I'd prefer a flexible system that can handle a multitude of scenarios with cool aliens and stuff.

I've heard of Traveler, Starfinder, etc, I just wanna know what system(s) I should focus on learning about first. I'd rather not run it in a Star Wars DnD conversion or Feelings and Lasers. This crowd usually plays DnD or very simple games but are open to other games too. Again I've tried Shadowrun and I'd rather a system that isn't over-complicated and just has the hacking take up 90% of the screentime.

I enjoyed the FFG Starwars system and in continuation genesys.
It has a ton of mechanics for everything sci-fi related you could possibly need since because it has great conversions for Dark Heresy covering insanity etc, rogue trader and the FFG self owned IP twilight imerium.

Yeah I think I wanna try and do a Dai Dark setting with huge helpings of other sci-fi stuff I'm into. Really I gotta decide if I like Dai Dark's/Underground Underground's (I love Q Hayashida) more warlock black magic fantasy inspired magic system where characters travel into black holes and have overpowered abilities or if I wanna go with Stellaris and The Shroud and it's psionic magic and interacting with psionic gods of alien ethics. Throwing in some helpings of Dead Space, Alien, Vampire Hunter D, Ghost in the Shell, Space Adventures Cobra, Patlabor, Akira, Blade Runner and all the other stuff I love from sci-fi and blend it all up. Again I still have to choose if between the warlock type of magic vs psionic magic, since I feel having both in the same setting MIGHT be too much for a sci-fi game. Or I might just not give a shit and just have both in the game for kitchen sink chaos.

>>97200936
I would do this possibly female, possibly male, possibly genderless evil space god ghost, born in the darkness of a black hole and a literal deity of death.

Warhammer 40k RP system
Most applicably Rogue Trader
Only War has the better vehicle rules, and arguably the best character creation and advancement rules
and Dark Heresy has the most familiar economy rules

Alternatively Traveller with a lot of homebrewing

I personally think SWN core gameplay system is a very poor fit for any gameplay let alone a sci fi rpg
But I agree that it has the best worldbuilding and faction gameplay tools, moreso because its competitors just don't than them being truly amazing, but scoring 'not bad' in a deserted competition is still the best around

Also Fuck this new garbage juice Captcha
>>

>and arguably the best character creation
Is that due to the regimental system that fills in anywhere from 1/4 to 3/5 of a starting character's sheet?

Hey /tg/ here's the origins and explanation of the xenomorph and its setting.

-Explains the Weyland Yutani world and offers a bonus animated story
-Explains various features of the xenomorph such as how it actually sees without eyes
-Explains HR Giger and Dan O Bannon's original inspirations for the xenomorph
-Explains logically how the xenomorph is closer to the truth and is a combo of 2 civilizations.
-Provides 3 entire civilizations for the xenomorph
-Shows images of what the real xenomorph homeworld looks like and its bestiary
-Links to 1 extra bonus document explaining the Space Jockey's world.
-Great music fitting the atmosphere of the setting throughout the document.
-Great artwork along with the explanations.

Enjoy. May you use this setting and explanations in your own games well.

Almost forgot.
The fact that the rules that gunpowder weapons (and crossbows under which gunpowder weapons were put) cannot be used on land since they are forbidden makes it all one big loophole.
I bet that if Bretonnia could make blimps or their own version of thunderbarges and give it to the navy, then it would've been the biggest loophole abuse.
>Is not on land, but in the air
>The machine happens to be part of the navy
>The knights loaned the ship from the navy
That would be quite the loopholing.

Bretonnia always felt so off. They should have resembled more like the Empire instead of this anachronistic mismatch. They can keep the knights but at least give them a tension between modernization and tradition which would have been richer than uhh medieval morons while the empire next door is fullblown early modern with steampunk stuff.

Yeah what kind of fag actually wants to talk about anything on here? This board is for complaining about WotC company decisions exclusively.

DnD does still have that. It just isn't treated as an inherent racial trait to be a specific alignment anymore.

D&D isn't generic if you're not all "muh low magic, no planes, distant unknowable gods, medieval europe no monks allowed" about it. Kitchen sink 2E/3E era is a genre unto itself, and it only feels generic next to stuff that's directly imitating it.
