Feudalism started dying after the black death wiped out nearly half of all serfs. The lords started poaching each other's peasants with promises of lower taxes and better treatment. The monarch could no longer rely on his vassals to provide him with large armies, so he had to rely on mercenary bands, which cost money, which required proto-capitalism. Mercantilism was a way to survive the decline, not really a cause.

I do agree with that. The space yiffs get giant wolves they can ride on. Where are the cybernetically augmented giga-nigga horses with adamantine hooves to stomp the enemies of the imperium with?

I know we have gimp horses with the mechanicus but there is plenty of room for more "living" mounts.

What would you think of switching AP values to a similar system that 40k uses, meaning ap worsens armor saves instead of being a binary "ignores armor/doesn't" check? Right now guns can either be AP2, AP3, or have an irrelevant AP value. The problem with 40k's version of the system is rampant powercreep and retarded rules like armor of contempt accelerating it, leading to stuff like regular boltguns having -1 or better AP. But if you kept it tame I feel like it would add variety and granularity to the game.

>because of your faith

that's protestant shit (vanity), though it's better than jewish shit where you just have to be born into it. You're putting too much focus on the person being special, whereas with catholicism the point is nobody is special - everyone's shit and a sinner.
In reaching for the cross in their time of need that is a tacit submission to God and a plea to his mercy, regardless of whoever that person was before. Even the person returning to sin after the fact isn't a barrier to that (frankly it's expected).

Where I see shintoism sorta overlap with vampires (aside from touhou of course, but let's ignore that) is the general central tenent of the separation of the divine or pure, mundane, and profane into their own specific spaces. And that lines up with a lot of the traditional "anti-vampire tech" out there, if not all of them. Stuff like being unable to cross running water, having to be invited into homes, even garlic as a ward - it's very easy to find parallels with that and Shinto traditions such as Shimenawa or Ofuda (or even like setsuban if you want to stretch it). So in that hypothetical, I think that if you are running with the premise that shintoism affects vampires at all, warding and sealing are definitely within their wheelhouse.
Killing Vampires however? Less so. That's more within the realm of what gods would potentially do themselves than anything a priest or priestess would be doing.

It's like being caught in a plastic fucking pyramid scheme.
I bought a model that forces me to buy more models to use it. Not even buy the models I need, I need to go out and buy TEN models I don't need for the one model I do. I need to go out and buy bags of crackerjacks, throw out the crackerjacks, and keep the prize inside.

The extra disgusting part is that they've announced it this early not for consumer benefit, but to create a panic boom in their sales as people rush to buy up old stock.

A determined necromancer wants to travel from Sylvania to Khemri to find the secrets of immortality.
He travels south, breaking his way through a dwaven mountain pass around
Karak Hirn. The dwarfs rally an army to chase him down.
From Khemri a Tomb King pushes north to reclaim ancient territories in the Badlands, clashing with the necromance's hordes in the process.
And obviously the dwarfs are not too particular when it comes to killing undead, attacking both armies on sight.

The Necromancer faces immortality or destruction as he tries to harness the death magic of the ancient obelisks...

>I'll bite, anon. What's your experience with it? First glance at the main system puts in mind of the old WEG Star Wars game.

It's simpler than the old WEG D6. In short, you just take the two highest values as your results.
It's over all clean and smooth to run, Combat feels natural. It's cheap enough so just get it and try it.
There's a third book, the Black Star Companion that rounds out the system. With all three books it really does feel like a combined arms type game without getting bogged down with an overly complex system.

It's supposedly going to be dropping here soon (it was supposed to drop this summer, but apparently they needed more time to cook). I went to their Twitter page, and it only has 120 followers, so I'm feeling a little nervous. Worst case scenario, I can pinch off lore that they've promised to include if they completely butcher the actual game mechanics and shoehorn things into a better system if I have to. I hope I don't.

Anyone familiar with Skydawn games, or are they a "literally who" of the TTG scene?

Wait, so it's not just og Phantasy Star? I'm pretty sure these guys come from PSO.
>>
>>96458896
They're pulling content from PS 1~4 as well as PS0 & PSOBB. I think you could probably bend and shape the content to fit PSO2 and other media as well if you wanted.

PSO2 & NG are very fast-paced, though. Practically DMC-style combat. I don't know if you could translate that same feeling of frenetic action to a tabletop game. Compared to the slower and more methodical PSO & PS0 anyway.
>>
>>96459191
I see. I wouldn't really mind the system not trying to simulate PSO2's combat as long as it had cool rules for the classes and the monsters, especially for the Dark Falzs (Falzes?) and other bosses.

The thread to talk about Super Heroes/Villains/Spies/Agents/Rogues be it in spandex or not.

Popular Choices for Games:

>Mutants & Masterminds
Currently the most played one, uses a d20 resolution for everything, has powers building and rules for tactical combat.

>Marvel TSR/ FASERIP
Classic Supers game from the 80s, still has a lot of fans and various retro-clones. Uses a d100 with an universal resolution table to decide the degree of success, has random character generation and abstract rules for powers and combat.

>Masks (PbtA)
Rules light game with focus on narrative. Less rules reading more making stuff up on the moment. Game is built on the concept of playing as young heroes but you can use it for more mature settings.

>What is /awg/?
A thread to talk about minis and games which fall between the cracks, or peoples' homebrew wargames.
The >>>/tg/hwg thread doesn't entertain fantasy (for good reason) and the other threads are locked to more specific games.
This thread isn't tied to a game, a publisher, or a genre, let's just talk about fun wargames. Any scale, any company, any miniatures.

>Examples of games that qualify.
A Song of Ice and Fire, Argatoria, Batman Miniature Game, Carnevale, Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings,
Deadzone, Dropfleet and Dropzone Commander, Freebooter's Fate, Frostgrave, Gaslands, Judge Dredd, HeroClix,
Kings of War, Maelstrom's Edge, Malifaux, Marvel Crisis Protocol, Masters of the Universe: Battleground, Moonstone,
Oathmark, OnePageRules, RelicBlade, Rumbleslam, Stargrave, Sludge, Urban War, Void, Warcaster, Warmachine, Xenotactics...
...and anything else that doesn't necessarily have a dedicated thread.

>Any experts here able to decipher the contents of WGA's Boneblades to know if they are good for starting an undead army?
Not an expert, but it's literally just ten bases' worth of skeleton infantry with some command stands and a pile of skulls. For Vampire Countts you could paint some of them green to be an Ethereal Host and maybe put gold trim for Grave Guard but beyond that you need some other options to have a viable Warmaster army. At standard points values one box is about 300 points or a bit more than an eighth of an army. If you stretch it with Ethereals you could squeeze two boxes up to about a third of one.
For Fell Bats Reaper sells some cheap vampire bats that'd work with a little chopping and sculpting to change the tombstones into rocky outcrops or ruined buildings.
https://www.reapermini.com/search/bat/sku-up/03355
https://www.reapermini.com/search/bat/sku-up/07071 (Bones version of the pewter one above)
https://www.reapermini.com/search/bat/sku-up/07058
and this dude https://www.reapermini.com/search/bat/sku-up/03902 could be a fun Winged Nightmare.

Tomb Kings use more skeleton infantry than the VC. Again it's ~300 points out of 2000. I'd put money on WGA having a skeleton cavalry/chariot and an archer set in the pipe, which would flesh out most of their line infantry options. A bone giant is just a 28mm skeleton and a bunch of people do passable siege engines and sphinxes.
>>
>>96461920
I'd say 2-5 more squads/vehicle groups so that you can substitute some of your other models while trying different compositions and you are golden.
Maybe add some infantry mortar teams? Or other crew served weapons.
