An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

Very fun, there's a lot of cool tricks you can do with each of the different psychic disciplines.

They’re based on the og mining suits that terminators were built from and require a lot more effort to pilot in exchange for a lot of bulk. Vulkan upgraded them with better reactors and shielding to handle more energy intensive weapons. In game they primarily wield large disintegrator cannons or mechanicum style plasma bombards which are basically plasma artillery guns. They also wield short range particle shredders which I imagine are horrific warcrime weapons. Depends on edition. 1e has the strongest enlightened mortals (Boost physical attributes only, up to Essence+5, Player's Guide 120), 2e has the most level and consistent presentation (no excellency, but a wide array of thaumaturgy and martial arts to exploit), and 3e has the most variable and ad-hoc version (do whatever you want, Storyteller characters only).

That said they've never actually had a dice limit set anywhere like everybody else does, in any edition, and if they got access to an uncapped 'add X dice where X is motes spent' type Excellency then theoretically they can pump as many dice as they have motes into it. Most Storytellers would cap them far below this though, usually based on whatever magic it is that gave them that ability - for example, giving them the Solar dice limit when they've been given power through Power Awarding Prana.

Sure. Overall, cool artifact. I'm a big fan of telepresence/scry and this is entirely build around it, so i might be biased, but it seems mostly balanced and fun to use. At most re:balance I'd say that the first few charms are stronger than average for their level while the last few charms are weaker than average for their level, but that's normalized in 3e design despite being an awful idea, so meh, all good.

The first clause should cover all death clauses under the effects of the charm. The second clause covers all other effects. If it's not then the second part which covers all other deaths probably isn't necessary - there's no way to trigger 'the void marked dies while the charm is active, but in a way other than dying' so far as I can tell. You might have meant that while possessing the Void Star Marked Breaking the Discarded Tool can be activated reflexively, and if it isn't then the Abyssal takes damage from the backlash when they die.

A quick and dirty fix for this if you want enlightened mortals to have Excellencies is to cap them at (Essence x 2). Enlightened mortals tend to have lower Essence ratings so it works. It's what I use for spirits anyway.

Write the adventure around the villain's plan. He should have all the pieces almost lined up, with a back up plan in the event of a setback. This way the villain can fail forward, still moving on with his plan, just in a reduced or more arduous capacity. Stealing some mcguffin or killing an important npc will still feel like a win to the party, just not a victory. This also leaves room for the party to fail forward. The party might not have stopped the current phase, and the end might be harder, but they can still stop the next step with what was learned.

All the new Starter sets contain a list fit for an initiation game.
They are not perfectly balanced for a "real" recon game as Empire and GAR are both above the 600pts limit while Rebel and CIS are below but they are matched well enough in power level and activation counts. What's cool about these starter list is that they use all the model in the box and gives most of them upgrades which helps with grasping the rules.

I usually ask each player what they're looking for, then have them roll luck checks to see if anything similar is even for sale. THEN I have them do Perception/Insight/Arcana or whatever to locate the booth, discern BS items, or find hidden gems.
