You think it makes others sound gay when you talk like that?
>>

Every piece of media that has been inflicted upon me that was 100% all-male has been gay porn or WWE (gay porn with extra steps) with the occasional le funi astolfo meme.
>>
>>97243014
I think not, but the people I played with are part of my tt/rpg gaming club and they had been playing Masks back then, so maybe it was part of their campaign and I just didn't get it
I think the module was titled In the Grasp of Love or something like that. It was set around Valantine's Day, if that helps
>>97234961
I forgot to add that I've spend many years being a forever DM so yes I've played lots of female NPCs. My "overbearing halfling matriarch" voice was greatly appreciated by my lads

>What is /awg/?
A thread to talk about minis and games which fall between the cracks, or peoples' homebrew wargames.
The >>>/tg/hwg thread doesn't entertain fantasy (for good reason) and the other threads are locked to more specific games.
This thread isn't tied to a game, a publisher, or a genre, let's just talk about fun wargames. Any scale, any company, any miniatures.

>Examples of games that qualify.
A Song of Ice and Fire, Argatoria, Batman Miniature Game, Carnevale, Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings,
Deadzone, Dragon Rampant, Dropfleet and Dropzone Commander, Freebooter's Fate, Frostgrave, Gaslands, HeroClix,
Kings of War, Maelstrom's Edge, Malifaux, Marvel Crisis Protocol, Masters of the Universe: Battleground, Moonstone,
Oathmark, OnePageRules, Open Combat, RelicBlade, Rumbleslam, SAGA, StarCraft, Stargrave, Sludge, Urban War, Void,
Warcaster, Warmachine, Xenos Rampant, Xenotactics...
...and anything else that doesn't necessarily have a dedicated thread.

Thanks. It was a 3d print I found on Thingiverse iirc. I have stats I made for him for AD&D somewhere.

Definitely frostgrave. You could try a co-op one though. Rangers of shadowdeep has a story that might keep her more engaged and much less wizadry. 5 leagues from the borderlands could be fun if she enjoys the campaign aspect of it. Depends if she just wants to play and not think about it afterwards or wants a campaign experience.
>>

Open Combat. I suggested it to another anon not long ago and it's still in NewVola.

>If you have a ball of tinfoil, are wearing a blue t-shirt, and have your shoes on the wrong feet, and also it's raining, you do a million damage

There was supposedly some kind of attempt at a real tournament scene with huge prizes, but I don't think any of those actually happened, and the whole thing reeked of cryptofag money laundering.

God, the amount of effort being put in to look like Gen I Pokémon is absurd.

The art is nice but being a crypto project i ignored it half out of scorn and half of basic fiscal common sense.

My guess is there was never really a game to it because noone ever discussed rules or monsters or interactions, whenever they'd make advertizing threads here it was all just

The did happen. They even had backdrops and props to trigger those effects. The real problem was it was infested with investors meaning once they left they didn't have any money. One of its biggest investors a rapper convinced them to do cyrpto.

Jesus, what a mess. How did these wolves even end up in there?
>>
>>97243796
The time of woe is the whole time period anon, and its a combination of multiple different factors for why it was so bad

If they had their numbers and werent bled dry fighting the elves? They could have held the line, they would have still taken some losses but they would have been powerful enough to simply fight everyone off and reinforce their holds anew.
If they werent invaded aggressively they could have eventually recovered from the losses of the slanns seismic changes and the war of the beard.
If they didnt have the slann ruin their fortifications they could have simply avoided confrontation with the skaven and greenskins and licked their wounds in peace.
Remove any one of those factors and while they might lose some prominence in the region/be put in a worse situation long term, they would have recovered over time. But they were first put into a weak situation and then hit with a second situation they had to deal with.

To make a very mundane comparison. Imagine you are decently well off and have a solid savings account. But then you get into a very costly legal dispute with your neighbour (he moves away so its a win in your books), and then suddenly a flood hits or your car breaks down or some inner city youth start making the property value lower in the area. You might have been able to finance that first problem, but the second and third in short order make it a lot worse. Likewise you might have been able to just buy a new car if you didnt spend all your money on lawyers just a while ago.

Are you solely trying to trade kills or focusing on objectives and other ways to get VPs? You're a horde team with very few ways of punching through a Space Marine's hide. Your strength is board control and ramp up. Cause him problems on different areas of the map and force him to split his team, then pick a side you want to focus on and hammer those units there.
>>
>>97243577

you might be onto something. Stay hidden, get close, and try to push for objectives?

>Sounds like... a rag tag band of different planets forces joining up.
It was part that, part being the GM for our campaigns, and partly flat-out liking to play multiple fleet lists at semi-random. So I could be using WYSIWYG to designate which ships were technically "reserves" or "reinforcements" (which is a big thing with Imperial fleets in particular). The actual fluff on the fleets was
>blue
An obsolete fleet that had been largely puttering around guarding Tithes until shit cooked off in the 12th Crusade. Suddenly very out of their depth. My first actual fleet
>Red
SegObscuras fleet whose Lord Admiral had been killed in battle against the Orks (one of my main opponents) and were now being run by a Rogue Trader and some Marines while they waited for "reinforcements" they never actually sent a message requesting. There are quite a few Xenos ships hidden in the escort shot
>Purple
Some of the Armageddon fleet ships were really nice as backup in a standard one
>Pirates
These guys were the actual rag-tag fleet. Also used the Rogue Trader's cruiser or one of the Demiurg Bastions as the flagship. Mostly played for challenge
>Inquisition
Used as GM loaners in scenarios

Varies by faction but the old models had a ton of SOVL despite and scale concerns. That being said current 3D print options are generally better overall, though that isn't a surprise given they have the highly detailed models from 2 video games to work with as a base/reference. But despite the range of stuff now available on the 3D print side of things I am still a fan of my original BFG models.

I think kurnoth is being established as a full god and therefore won't get a model. They seem to be more interested in fleshing out characters that want to become a god rather than those that are already at that level

I watched a Nassif video earlier today and I noticed one person asking him for advice on "which premodern card to invest in". Speculators are bottom feeders.
>Why don't those guys running the premodern events just allow proxied decks as long as they look good?
Most premodern events are proxy friendly so long as they're in colour, obscure the card the printout is placed in front of etc. The issue arises when a WPN store tries to host a premodern event because they can't allow proxies for "official" events, i.e anything run instore using companion app. My LGS is WPN and we tried to set up Premodern events there but we ended up having to play at different stores because LGS was not proxy friendly; obviously, that's simply not practical when dealing with expensive RL cards like Survival for a niche format, or tracking down a bunch of some obscure common from Tempest when we live in a small, geographically distant country.

We're now getting similar numbers for premodern as we are for legacy at least. Printouts are fine as long as they're in color and completely obscure the card behind them. I ordered a custom printout of Survival Infestation just to have a nicer looking deck though.

>or how most of it is ugly

Actual human beings produce plenty of ugly art. Pic related (Paladin Alhandra, D&D 3rd edition PHB): Right leg's very obviously fucked, left arm's fucked, left boob's fucked, neck and back are fucked, scale mail looks like a texture tool, left knee is too low, what is that leathery flap in the back supposed to be, and everything kind of looks like it was drawn independently and then crudely assembled with clothing to hide the seams (bandana, collar, shoulder pads...)

This was drawn in 1999 or 2000, way before AI art was ever a thing.
>>
>>97242878
Anon, I pointed out that ai art looking boring and unmemorable is imo far worse than any of it looking ugly, since I get that ugly is in the eye of the beholder anyways.

>do you use character portraits in your game?
I find visual aids help my players and myself visualize things better. Also we use Roll20 so I like to represent people with tokens when I can.

I get like 90% of my character art from here, though the character art threads have been poor quality - if high quantity - this year.
>do you use AI? how do you prompt it?
I try to avoid using AI images if possible, partially on principle and partly because they mostly look like shit.
>>

Muh climate change is absolutely right though, AI's wasting immense amounts of natural resources to achieve exactly fuck all. That said I still slop from time to time, most things I either crudely draw myself or just describe but there are e.g. certain playable humanoid types I make slop of to demonstrate

I didn't say a multiclass should be better at being a class than a single class. I said it should be better at operating in a vacuum. A single class should feel like it is missing things. Characters should be significantly weakened by not having abilities from other classes or there is no point in partying in the first fucking place. Multiclassing should be giving up maximum potential to get rid of inherent weaknesses.

Classes should complement each other or else what are you even fucking doing?
>>
>>97240637
>In a truly well built system solo class builds and synergestic multi-class builds should be equally viable with comparable power.
In a truly well-built system, there should be no classes and characters grow by building synergies up from individual abilities that don't have prerequisites.

the number one question you can ask yourself before buying a game is "who am i gonna play this with?", if you can't answer this question, don't buy it, i've followed this rule and there's only two out of a hundred games in my collection that have not been played this year

I managed to convince them to play and they both managed to have some fun with it, my dad literally almost beat me and would have if he'd built a level 3 black pyramid and bought the domination tile off of it. I might be able to convince them to play again in a couple of years lmao.

Codex Imperialis, p.34-35. That one's from '93.
I imagine there's some subdivision based on precinct, district, zone, and whatever other subdivisions you want to make, in whatever order you desire. It probably varies from precinct to precinct. Check the book for further info, if you can get your hands on a pdf.

>You're either new or disingenuous
I've played every single 40K RPG, which is more t han most here can say, and been popping by this general for years.
>don't think IM can recover
It has it's core community, it'll be just fine. I've been following and playing it since release, it had a rocky start with some promises not being met but the real negativity about it was from people wanting a more crunchy system. If you don't care for that or even want something more streamlined, quicker to play it's pretty great, and we now have two faction splats and a gear book to flesh it out a bit more.
>>
>>97243452
IM is... workable. A pal pulled me into a game recently, some of its stuff is streamlined from the FFG stuff in a good way (namely how stats work), some of it's streamlined in a shit way that I hate.
Wang is the skunge you find growing inside a rusty disposal. I think maybe three guys in all of time have ever played and liked it.
My heart will always belong to Rogue Trader. God, those were the days.
>>
>>97240082
My bad then, but like every thread there was the usual bait "now that the dust has settled..." question. As far as how is it? Dangerously mediocre. It works, but it's very generic and shallow
>>
>>97243472
>My heart will always belong to Rogue Trader
That's your bias then, so of course you think IM is subpar. Personally I think RT sucks ass, and Shadowrun was my very first RPG so I know and welcome crunch. It just has so many systems that don't work well, so much asinine bloat, niche shit to remember like gear that gives bonuses only on the first turn of combat, and I always hated how restrictive the old FFG class system is. In any case, most folk here are like you, so that's why this general is doomed to a slow demise. There will never be a RT 2e.

>>

Because plastic packaging is ubiquitous and is more resistant.
>>
>>97243721
But does your plastic have a cool as fuck picture of relevant construction techniques, like the cardboard here?
>>
>>97243755
No. Probably should make one, there are a few more things achievable with plastic than shown here on cardboard such as welding etc.

>Cyberpunk 2020 vs. Cyberpunk RED?
Cyberpunk 2020 is the second edition of the Cyberpunk TTRPG that focuses on simulation gameplay and has a black trenchcoat aesthetic.

Cyberpunk RED is the fourth edition of the Cyberpunk TTRPG that is set after Cyberpunk 2020 following the Fourth Corporate War, focuses on more balanced gameplay and is more streamlined but has less content.

You can discuss Shadowrun here too because I also feel bad for those guys.

What? Your main ability only having a 1/3 chance of working is pretty shitty. Having to waste luck just to make you abilities reliable doesn't make them any more appealing when a PC can easily get Base 14 in some social skills and be a much more reliable Face, saving your Luck for when you actually need to brute force a difficult check.
