Fair. A lot of them seem like more of a stretch, or don't offer that much benefit. For instance, Militant fits with the idea of a Warmage who would specialize in Invocation, but the weapon bonuses don't really add to their spellcasting itself.
I could see Anagakok working with Abjuration for having some environmental protection and being able to boost the party's defense, or Mystic with Alteration for having a Levitate effect. I already mentioned Witch with Conjuration for the familiar.

Astrologer from Complete Sha'ir's could work for Divination maybe? Savage Wizard also has an Omen table which could work.
Illusion or Enchantment seem harder to pin down.
>>
>>97833104
>I want 2e in /osrg/
Nobody cares.

>back
This is just outright nonsense. 2e is not an OSR game and as such was never welcome in /osrg/, there has never been any substantial 2e discussion in that general and it's always been politely but firmly asked to be taken elsewhere on the rare occasions it was brought up. The closest thing the troll has to lean on as evidence to the contrary is some unanswered shitposts from like 2014 and bringing that shit up is in itself evidence of bad faith since it says nothing about the long-term status quo of the general.
>>
>>97833422
The Omen table is pretty weak, but I could definitely see something similar being given to Diviners

So far what I have is this:
Abjurer - Access to armor up to chainmail
Conjurer - “Secure Familiar” from Witch kit, maybe lower time to appear as level increases
Diviner - TBD
Enchanter - TBD
Illusionist - TBD
Invoker - Militant Wizard kit
Necromancer - Undead Master kit
Transmuter - Can convert spells into potions as if spell research. Can also make healing potions

By Legion Terminators I mean your run of the mill Heavy Assault Terminators. Back in 1.0 when Cataphractii and Tartaros weren't even 2 separate army list entries they were just called Legion Terminators. Basically everything else in the list was also Legion (insert unit), presumably because the game still technically used the 6th Edition ruleset and they had to differentiate the Legion list from the 40k SM list.

Prostitution is the oldest profession. It has always existed and it will always exist. The presence of prostitutes and brothels is crucial for making a game setting and world feel realistic and lived in. Otherwise, it will lack all verisimilitude. So, tell us, how have you incorporated prostitution into your game?

The simplest answer would be for mods to actually do their jobs and permaban the vermin, its not like his post pattern is not instantly recognisable. Just like bumpfaggot, who now that I think about it has a very similar post pattern to pukee. Both of them are easily recognised, have easily identifiable post patterns, and both have been an utter plague on this board for years, but the mods do nothing but defend them.
Sidenote, the useless fucks have even stopped banning NiceDeamonette when he shows his face, even if he no longer uses his name his post style instantly marks him.

That's great to hear, share pics!
I use superglue because want to be able to snap them off in the future. Plastic cement is too permanent for the base, imo. I use Tamiya Extra Thin cement for the mini itself.

And you should absolutely add stuff to your bases. The main color should contrast with your minis, and you should have a theme. I do entire squads/warbands at once (i.e. I base them after they're all painted) but really involved basing probably needs to be done before you put a mini on it.

>>
>>97833239
superglue is fine. you don't need to do anything fancy with bases. GW showed off their models with just sand on glue for bases with a little drybrushing for decades.

>>97833239
Personally I like plastic cement cause it’s easier to use than superglue and I’m paranoid about glue getting on my mini’s feet (I like to fully paint the mini then attach the base).

But like another anon said you can remove superglue easier and rebase if you need. Don’t worry about the superglued breaking breaking off. You can just sand or scrape off the old dried glue and glue it back.
I also heard freezing superglue helps you remove it.

Just thought up modifing my spider people's culture to have a distain for worm produced silk.
Mainly to justify a quest line where they give several task related to sabotaging silkworm based silk production. Starting with local shipments of the stuff and eventually leading to a quest where the players are expected to go to the other side of the world to directly somehow stop worm silk production.

Just a side quest idea though.

The Nemerii were a pastoral herding culture that occupied the central plains and forests south of the great desert, they are the most practical and grounded of their dark elven brethren. To the main adherents of their people a life not in the saddle on the backs of their Thurael birds is a life not worth living, this naturally puts them at odds with their more civilised neighbours and the settled and coastal Nemerii that are much more influenced by the Lacusii's Tollure(empire) and the theocratic Ignarii states.

They are prized as messengers and guides through the continental interior, their skill at riding is largely unmatched until the arrival of the humans during their long decline. Even before the arrival of the humans they were a declining culture due to constant warfare with the Malorii tribes that plagued the continent. The plains Nemerii are largely extinct as a culture in the present day and the settled and coastal Nemerii are much more assimilated into the surrounding Lacusii and Ignarii.

They would also influence the Oskun human peoples and heavily imprint the Tirnaeth with their language and culture. Their unique breeds of thurael riding birds are still the most prestigious today, fast and versatile but not strong enough to stand up to horse cavalry.

Anon, the Emperor is a gigantic basement dweller nerd who explicitly hates the warlord persona, he does it because when Malcador found him living in a cave basement during the Age of Strife (working on unfucking humanity's genome) it was Malcador who convinced him he would need to be a warlord and emperor to unite Terra.

A thread to talk about minis and games which fall between the cracks, or peoples' homebrew wargames.

The >>>/tg/hwg thread doesn't entertain fantasy (for good reason) and the other threads are locked to more specific games.

Does anyone have experience on running two systems simultaneously? I want to inject dungeon crawls with investigative mysteries and the prospect of characters going insane. I figured CoC and D&D would be a good place to start, because I want to move toward a bigger idea I had but need practice.
>>
>>97830819
I've done exactly what you're talking about in GURPS and it worked beautifully.
Also, since CoC is a BRP system, you should look to something like Mythras to integrate dungeon crawling into your game.
Basically, D&D doesn't belong here.
>Not everything has to be D&D. It's not appropriate for many, many types if games. Broaden your horizons.
>>
>>97830819
I ran a game based on the Persona videogames a while back. I used Kids on Bikes to simulate the investigations and free time in reality, letting my players do side stuff to get temporary buffs to their D&D characters. Then once they had discovered the next target/dungeon We switched to D&D where their characters were their Personas and they ran through the dungeon. It ended up being every other week we would switch systems; a week investigating, a week dungeoning. It worked well enough, but I'm sure there's another singular system that could do it both without the need to homebrew so much. I think I would try to stick to one system in the future though. In your case, Maybe something like Arkham Horror RPG covers both the combat and investigation better than the two systems separated.
>>
>>97830819
> Simultaneously
No. But I have homebrewed a system that's a mix of two. And I have had a game where two different core mechanics were used alternatively.

What you describe seems to be the first one. What I would do is find a core system that does what you want your heroes to do most of the time. Kill monsters, open trapped doors, etc. Make sure it needs the least alterations possible, so if you are going to go the Eldritch Horrors' way, no DnD/PF/DH for a game in the 1950s. For a game more like Darkest Dungeon, you go full steam ahead.

Then, you find a game that does the mechanics you wanna tack on it the best, and do just that. IDEALLY, for the sake of consistency, you try to blend the two.

So let's say you want a Darkest Dungeon game, you may want convert PF 1st to introduce CoC elements, you should use CoC horrors and Sanity, but instead of having a Sanity stat, you could alter Wisdom to serve there.

What you could do is multiply a character's Wisdom Score by 5% to obtain a Sanity score that should range from 40% (nat 8) to 90% (nat 18). When a character takes Sanity damage, for each 5% hit, the character takes 1 Wisdom damage that can only be healed with downtime, exactly like the CoC rules tell you. When a character takes X hits, it can receive temporary insanity the same way. And learning Eldritch (or even just Arcane) spells erodes one's sanity.
