>>97258731For Alice, specifically, I think her best card, both from an artwork and gameplay perspective, is Alice - Growing Girl. It features her classic costume and looks like it could have come straight from the movie, and for gameplay, the card effects are very versatile and could easily trigger a win condition.
>>97252969When the last thread was complaining about "japanese art OPs" did they mean to make 2 separate DM threads both illustrated by japanese artists to make a point? What even is the reason most come here now? To complain?
>>97258855A runner-up to this is Alice - Tea Alchemist, which features a reimagined costume that I think looks very nice on her, and I like the color scheme in general. From a gameplay standpoint, she's a little more situational, but even if she's only exerting one of your opponent's characters, that's still just as good as many Elsa cards that do similar things.
>>97258884As for non-Alice cards, The Queen of Hearts has a ton of good ones, but nothing beats the sheer creepiness of Cheshire Cat - From the Shadows. The art looks like a bad acid trip under a black light, which is pretty on-brand for Alice in Wonderland, and the ability to banish a damaged character every turn is hard to dismiss, especially with more recent Emerald cards that damage all opposing characters.
>>97258951>>97258884>>97258855Sweet. I should look more into the game, it's one of the few popular enough to get localised here. And the logo is cool but I could never justify using sleeves / deck boxes with it for different games.
ca/tg/irls, have you ever roleplayed a MALE character?(inspired by the other thread, because why not)
>>97256921A small majority of the actual, non-tranny women I have played with pretty much only played twinks.
>>97259119I find most women play women as they can't imagine being something else.
>>97258255Specially trained goblins>>97259127Most authors are women for a reason, and pretty much all of those women write men.
>>97259127Non-normie women in my experience tend to be fujos or playing their husbando OC.
I usually play a female character. If I play a male character it's usually because there's a guy with incel vibes in the group so he can't try to flirt with me using his character.

You should ALWAYS cheese every encounter. If you EVER end up in a situation that even remotely resembles a fair fight, just run away and wait until you can rig the situation to your favor. Use your fucking brain. Even if it is highly improbable for you to lose a given fight, statistically speaking, you'll still eventually croak if you keep taking those bets. Don't leave it up to chance. It's easier than you might think, you just need to use your noggin. It's not a video game. You can do whatever the fuck you want.Just the other night my party ran into a melee monster in a narrow ass room that they for some reason decided to ram their dicks into until someone died. When I suggested that we retreat for a bit and lure it into the room with the big ass statues so we can all just climb them and shoot it to death, they looked at me like I just escaped from the looney bin. They all died of course.

>>97258067Too Knizia-esque.
>>97258067The fucking animals. I've had enough of animals replacing humans in boardgames. I didn't say 'anthropomorphic' because these are essentially animals walking upright without any other human features so, not sure that'd count
>>97259144The game has similar art for the card in each suit used in each players' starter deck. It doesn't show up elsewhere in the game though. The non-starter cards are knickknacks instead of animals. Also, you can put your starter cards into your scoring area which, thematically, is merchandise you're selling.

Players will always get in the way of their own fun, it's the GM's duty to protect fun by any means necessary and this will inherently make you an enemy to your players

Why were so many of the "OG" game designers insufferable faggots? It seems like the vast majority of game designers from the 70s and 80s were self-obsessed dickheads who openly hated and looked down on their customer base. There were obviously exceptions, and some like Gygax would go on to regret and apologize for it, but still, what made so many "professionals" back then such fags?Pic related: WFRP author James Wallis's response to a letter criticizing how railroaded The Enemy Within campaign was.
>>97258994What?
>>97258984If you're going to be obtuse, the point being made is that a lot of game masters tend to get wrapped up in their role as entertainers that they forget they're the ones with the ultimate ability to say no, and likewise players forget that despite being the ones who make the majority of the decisions it's the game masters are the ones who can veto literally any action made at the end of the day. >>97258196>>97258377I guess I get psyched about starting a warband, and then look at them and it's all stuff like "Orcs actually want to just stand back and shoot" "Your leaders shouldn't be anywhere near combat" "Just give everyone a sling/mace (depending on army" "Don't arm anyone with a shield or armour" and it's like, well, what's the fucking point of anything if the only advice given is "Everything is sub optimal except X for this warband"
>>97258986Mordheim is just a fucking dumb game that is propped up by nostalgiafags and 28 trannies. Let's hope GW remakes it as a grimdark answer to Trench Crusade but with good rules this time.
>>97259001>Let's hope GW remakes it [...] with good rules this time. When has that ever happened?
>>97258986The point of games like Mordheim or Necromunda is that they're modeling project, with an immersive ruleset to bring those models you've made into action. The rules have a lot of references for immersion, but the gameplay and tactics are fairly simple. You can choose to skip the modelling aspect when starting but you wouldn't be sticking to these game for long without delving into it.

The DM reveals that all this time, the 'Chaotic Evil invading soldiers' you've been fighting and slaughtering were actually Lawful Good innocent untrained peasants. They were tricked/convinced into believing they were fighting for survival and defense of their impoverished homeland.THE PALADIN FALLS AND LOSES ALL POWERS!!!Do you feel like a hero yet?
>>97258604>How come we never noticed they are untrained? You literally can't tell in the HEAT of battle.
>>97258634if i continue to fight invading soldiers, i will very quickly realize whether or not they act like trained soldiers with some discipline, or like some random people who never held a weapon before and dont know what formation is Because if you happen to be invaded by legions of untrained farmers, chances are this wont be a long war for them
>>97258649They are free to throw down their arms and surrender. Hell, I'll even send a messenger after the first few slaughters saying as much. If they literally shoot the messenger though... yeah no quarter.
>>97259083beside the obvious opportunity to surrender (as op said, we are slaugthering them), this scenario also assumes we never took prisoners and no battle ever had any surviving foes who could be questioned. So the big, shocking reveal naturally would have happened rather early in the war anyways.
>>97252494I show the DM page 18 of the PHB and tell him that tricking a paladin to UNKNOWINGLY perform an evil or chaotic act has no effect on his status. The Paladin has to CHOOSE to act chaotic/evil to loose his status, not tricked with a shitty 'gotcha'. Get fucked OP, you unread thread baiting moron.

Have you ever roleplayed a female character?
>>97258014>reality from fictionThe implication being that transwomen are real women?
I mostly play male characters, but last time I let the die decide and the 50/50 chance commanded me to play a girl. While most of my male characters were mostly reasonable and collected, she was much more hotheaded and aggressive. This may have been a result of her backstory and class more than the sex, who knows.
Of course I have! It's fun to try and imagine yourself as all sorts of personalities and characters, across classes, ages, genders, species, and try and think on how they would act and react, given their personal history, abilities, and motivations.I call it "roleplaying", it's kind of like acting. Not sure if anyone's heard of it before.
