>>97826576Exactly, yeah you can't outright be a big dick mage but if you pick the right location, try to play tricks on the locals, and actually know what you're doing you can get away with some pretty advanced stuff that makes DnD magic look kind of like a joke. Like Necromancers in DnD are not very up there because of how limited magic is, but "necromancers" can easily pull off bone armies in MtA. The Village in particular from RE8 is probably one of the most schizoid settings in the series and it's pretty great to ape for a Mage game possibly, you have everything from a haunted romanian town getting pillaged occasionally by wolfish-men, haughty almost-vampire aristocrat cannibals, etc. The real creme de la creme is when you get to the end factory and you get to witnessed man-made horrors beyond your comprehension in some dude's very twisted psychopathic attempt at freedom in transhumanism AND his descent into maniacal aspirations of power

Most times, if you can just pop a disrupt at the perfect moment in a chain, the other guy will give up and rage quit. Metashitters are easy to buckbreak like that.

I have a distinct memory of doing a reading at U.C. Irvine, where Avram was teaching at the time, to find him sitting in a front row, holding a frisky helium balloon in one hand, and a pretty young student’s hand in the other. After I finished my gig (somewhat distracted by performing in front of one of my major heroes, old friend or no), Avram came up to give me a hug and to inquire, quite seriously, “What do you know about feral camels?” As it happened, I did know something about a tentative attempt by the American Army, in the days after the Civil War, to introduce a small force of camels into the deserts of the Southwest. The attempt was soon abandoned; but for many years afterward, soldiers and nineteenth-century tourists alike would report having seen impossible ghostlike creatures materializing out of a sandstorm, and vanishing again just as swiftly.I happened upon this while flipping the story I'm aiming for. It reminds me of the oldlore of saurs being introduced to the west like these camels. It makes me wonder if whoever came up with that knew this story, or if it's just such a perfectly natural idea that strange animals should be introduced to the deserts of America.
