Anyone know why Thanquol is in the very first Skaven army book, years before the Skavenslayer book is published? Was Skavenslayer actually put out first in some other form before the actual book? Seems weird to have Thanquol even be a special character before the book. His entire backstory in the army book basically just tells you the plot of Skavenslayer, which seems like a weird thing to say before the book is published. Are the dates on the wiki just wrong or something?
Mayhaps someone has the Fabelzel dwarf files and would share, please? The original drive has been taken off.

Why is there so much whinging about 'No Games' on this board? I understand that those who come here solely with the intention of discussing tropes and the like can be frustrating to deal with, but there seem to be some folks here who make it their mission to drop bursts of negativity in threads they should've known would enrage them. And even in these threads that hold more general discussion, I don't see how nearly all of them are not at least tangentially related to traditional gaming.

I know GW shills are gonna be mad after reading this, but... when did you realize that busy, overdesigned models are NOT fun to paint and that miniature design peaked 20 years ago?
>>97393423>people are gonna be mad at me because i'm old, i'm lazy, i'm unskilled, and my eyesight is fadingHarsh shit man, wishing you the best of luck with all that.
It's hard to say it's an exclusively GW thing when most 3d modellers put even more detail than GW on their models. There's definitely demand for it.
>>97393423some models are bit much these days.but a lot of them are just really good and much better than anything they could do before. the new CSM legionaries are much better than the old ones. GSC Neophytes look better than any plastic kit they had back in the day.
it only bothers me when it's the basic footsloggersalso designs 20 years ago were busy as fuck too as much as fakegrogs like to pretend otherwise
Painting the rogal dorn tank was no fun for me because of all the details, also meant there was no room for decals. Felt very restrictive.

>>97377056the basic types will still exist:Entities, Memes, Structures (like mtg creatures, sorceries, artifacts etc)The typing done in both pokemon and magic is very loosely defined, for example a card being blue (mtg) or green (pokemon) is only a very loose indication of what its interaction scope might be in-game, mtg especially is filled with exceptions, and pokemon doesn't even try (their typing is arbitrary, like YGO).In frenopolis, the color-typing is defined in terms of the board itself. so if you know a card's color, you will know exactly its interaction scope. the only change here is I don't want to limit myself to "technology" themed or loosely related images for the blue color (for example). The blue color will be any image/meme that looks like it has an effect that operates in/between the Earth and Air elements, which correspond to zones (Archive, Void), and types (Structures, Memes, Narrative).see this image:>>97282597for example, all i'm experimenting with is removing the term "alchemy" from orange. Now it will just be "Orange". everything else stays the same.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0sUjE_CCZg
>>97385256thematically, this card probably would have been a purple (now silver) card (water and air elements), but functionally it strikes me as a yellow card (water and earth elements), as it's manifesting something material from "being". It also could have been a blue (formerly technology) card (air and earth elements), by projecting a structure from the void.

I need some help with the details of a game I'm planning. Tzeentch, got bored and decided to mess with some noble that collects art. After messing with his head through nightmares about his family selling his stuff after he dies the noble gets terrified about what will happen to his collection and decides the best way to keep it safe forever is to find someone who will care about it as much as he does. At a party he over hears someone from a different world talk about how Trazyn the Infinite stole some relics from their estate. Thinking that Trazyn is a collector like himself the noble decides to find him and donate his collection so it will stay safe from his family. That's a quick summery of what I want to start with. Ignoring the ordeal of getting to him and the shock of finding out that Trazyn is a Necron, what would Trazyn do if the noble actually got to him and showed off his large collection of art? And what would he want to keep? Is there a particular kind of human artifact he would be interested in? Rarity, age, what would he care about?
>>97392355AGP was an incredibly long-running greentext saga about a party of Dark Heresy players who were all former Imperial Guard, the Hammer of the Emperor, and thus treated every inquisitorial problem like a nail. In fairness, this usually got them out of as much trouble as it got them into.
>>97366886What's up gangHow difficult would you say Dark Heresy 2e is to learn for a GM and to teach new players? I have experience running DND 5e, some 3.5e, Blades in The Dark and a bunch of small OSR games.
>>97391846I don't care much about Gathering Storm either way - I generally prefer the setting to be static, but if the Rift fits my campaign I do include in, and if it doesn't I don't.I do hate the idea of Primarchs returning though>>97393520You should be fine, just read the book a few times and make notes of most important things. WH systems have fairly simple, instinctive and consistent core mechanics and lots of tiny rules and systems that build up on top of them - so there's plenty to remember, but it's all fairly easy to understand and it shouldn't fall apart if you just forget or omit a rule or two. Explaining the bare minimum they need to start playing to newbies shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes and then you can introduce new rules and concepts on a need to know basis.

Would people be able to tell your character is a "tough guy" just from first glance?
Yes.
>>97389925Depends on the DM. Some DMs have NPCs act appropiately to your characters appearance, (fear, negotiation, falling back and getting re-inforcements, surrender, hiding and avoidance, etc) while some DMs take the Fallout route, having two unarmoured 1st level mooks armed with sticks trying to take on your huge heavily armed and armoured character and escorting retinue, because the stupid module they are running says so.
