Cyberpunk RED is the fourth edition of the Cyberpunk TTRPG that is set after Cyberpunk 2020 following the Fourth Corporate War, focuses on more balanced gameplay and is more streamlined but has less content.

I'd scour Blackhand's street guide but the idea would be basic weapons that can be customized for a mission's needs (and non-basic ammo) but also be standard (like what you'd see in a military unit, not something flashy like what you'd see on a 'runner). It would be cool to see some really heavy weapons. As a side note Woodchopper's Garage is pretty good for high end military gear.

Let's be honest... it's gonna be light armorjack, heavy armorjack, and flak but spiced up with the armor ideas from Black Chrome on armor that people would actually use.

I really want to see heavier vehicle armor. For example you could get SP15 Flak but it imposes a -4 penalty on Drive (which should only penalize tricks or driving on terrible terrain). A treads upgrade and a really really big cannon weapon would give us quick and dirty tanks.

I want both a mix of actually good tactical stuff and the most ridiculous specialized tacticool crap like pic related. I swear these caimen eyes are the dumbest thing but they're so sovlful. I bet they'd be popular with any Navy SEALS or swamp/jungle guerillas.

I get that Mork Borg's ostensibly a game, but cricket and rugby are games too and they play very differently and you can do things in one that you can't legally in the other and vice versa.

I also find it weird that they get fixated on this or try to use the joke as a game, or, which is really bizarre, try to play it on regular basis, or for long campaigns. All while Mork Borg is effectively the themed Monopoly edition you buy for a joke present and gift to someone, play it once and then forget it even existed.
I guess this is only topped off with people who do those "printer friendly" versions or try to take the dysfunctional ruleset seriously or even fix it. And that's just delusional, which I don't understand in the slightest.

I've formatted the documented so that the rules are presented with bullet points instead of traditional paragraphs. I think its a bit more readable and easier to skim for specific rulings, but it also takes up a lot of space, so the rules are probably even shorter than 30 pages. the document is 50ish pages total but a lot of that is weapons, zombie types, etc.

Anyways I'll do a bit more editing and formatting and just throw it out here at some point.

The saturnine box is a good start since it also has almost everything you need to play, like the rulebook, templates, a scatter dice, tokens etc. So if you like the models it's a convenient way to get into HH.
It is somewhat of a large investment if you aren't entirely sure if you will enjoy the hobby though. If you can find a local group that plays HH it can be a bit safer to start with just a box of one infantry squad, and get the saturnine box after finding out if you like building and painting the models.

the 2.0 and 3.0 starter boxes are enormous investments of time to fully assemble and paint with any care and you can't go too wrong with some (potentially more if you go further) basal line infantry and even twenty marines should well and give you an idea of what's entailed

that set up is pretty similar to the anime/manga Hell's paradise.
There the main setting is an Island near japan which was settled by someone sent out ages ago by the chinese emperor to find the elixir of life. The island was basically turned into a labratory to create it, primarily by researching Tao(the local chi equivalent), for that purpose they also create a bunch of other kinds of beings by combining humans with other life forms. WIth the strongest being a handful of near immortals who are part flowers, they can perfectly regenerate and dont age as long as they have enough energy, which they only replenshis with a special elixir created by refining human corpses.
There were also a bunch of more normal people who only had their lifetime extended by being part tree, but the longer they lived the more tree like they became until they eventually just full on became trees and lost all sense of self.

Thanks. I read that manga when it came out but dropped it at some point so I didn't know all that. The setup is based on an actual legend about Qin Shi Huang (first Emperor of China) who allegedly sent his court magician (Xu Fu) looking for the elixir. He also drank shitloads of mercury and is the guy buried behind the Terracotta army.

The one thing I want to avoid is using human corpses, souls, spirits, or anything like that. It overlaps with other forms of life extension/immortality that I have.

Maybe just base it on some special fruit that is cultivated like Golden Apples in european myths or Peaches of Immortality from eastern ones.
Or something like Ambrosia/Nectar where an elixir is made from special flowers.

Since you got a Phantom Revenge box, I'll use Kewl Tune as an example for the last one; Most of their Main Deck monsters have the shared functionality of using 1 tuner from the hand as material when you synchro summon with their cards, and activating effects when they're sent to the GY as synchro material. It expedites the process of reading all that shit when you mentally format an archetype, so you have a general idea of how they work without having to memorize all the text on their cards.

Slapping 40-60 random cards from two different booster sets together isn't going to work, buy a structure/starter/legendary deck instead. DUAD is iirc lunalight and onomat while PHRE is h*ckin'handerinos, kidz bop and that one stun/burn archetype with the weird ships/animals, none of which have synergy with each other.

Having said that, i don't think branded is a good starting point for a beginner, since it's (IMO) a pretty boring archetype, at least without the dracotail cards, because you just want to floodgate the opponent with the piss dragon, meaning you won't actually learn anything.

The 5D's legendary decks will actually give you pretty much every single relevant staple card, but the decks themselves are beyond awful.

Blue-eyes has been powercrept hard, but it also gives you a fair amount of staples, and the deck itself isn't half bad, it's just a little inconsistent without the primite cards (which aren't as expensive as before, but it's still a $100 engine iirc), and being both a starter deck AND a popular archetype means you'll be playing a lot of mirror matches. It IS getting more support in the future however, namely a deep-eyes retrain that searches maiden and summons itself (being level 10 is ass, but you can still use it for juraishin and seal), so it's not a bad investment for a casual player.

You need to keep your dick down and remember that you're suggesting starting points for newbies, not totally-optimized builds for experienced players. They get a feature-rich Branded deck off of a few copies of the Chronicles deck, which also happens to come with a particularly versatile form of removal in the form of The Fallen & The Virtuous.

I agree with your post, but I would also tack on that opposition to "wokeoid" changes can also come from people who, as you noted in your discussion of EU material, fundamentally disagree with the change is attempting to do. This can blend into B, but I consider it distinct because I've gathered from these threads that there are some things that most anons here would be okay with that a chudmaxxing goober like me might still find objectionable.

Its a really shitty thread but I'll admit I've been hankering to play a mindflayer in a dnd campaign. I'm sure there's already any number of homebrewed player race for them as is too. I'd want to play him as a double agent, playing at having broke free of the hive mind, but working towards preserving it and directing dangers away and funneling in easy marks.
