I really wanna see the sprues for everything. Especially the horses. >TQThey can take the corpse cart, turn it into a terrain piece instead. As for endless spells I don’t know give me some vampires tits.
>TQI'm betting on a bat swarm endless spell
>>94834888>They can take the corpse cart, turn it into a terrain piece instead.I was wondering about thatbut them again they have the VERY convenient bit of fluff about vhordrai's crimson keep appearing out of nowhere in all sorts of places, as well as where nagash didn't plan it forand a properly gothic castle or at least one spire of it would make for a good piece of scenery for vampireshopefully it's like the warclans/seraphon piece of terrain with a somewhat customisable look to represent whether it's about dry undead or wet undead
Are Castelay vampires just rejects from other factions?Legions of Blood/Night have mortarch origin and Vyrkos comes form the grave hound, but i don't think Vhordrai's lads have any unique origin.Unless a magic brick from the keep bit them
>>94834872>>Thread Question>we still got bets open for what the sbgl spells and scenery are like and what else they will loseI'm more interested in idoneth spells and nighthaunt scenery
>>94834908Pretty much nomads, they aren’t really what I would call rejects as long as they managed to get back to the not! castlevsnia tower in time.
>>94834910Idoneth spells could be literally anything. They have a whole ocean of possibilities to choose from. I've seen ton of predictions here from everything from whirlpools to fish shoals to giant summoned kraken tentacles
>>94834908>The Blood Dragon is a soulblight vampire, he is said to be the finest warrior Shyish has ever seen. >He dwells atop a mountain and does not welcome company, although Queen Neferata coaxed him down to school Adhema and many other daughters of lands invaded by Chaos in the arts of war.>Given his description it seems likely that this is Abhorash reborn into the Age of Sigmar.good chance that he's the ultimate source of their martial philosophy, if not their bloodline, which might simply be any vampire that manages to break off from their most immediate instincts and court
>>94834872the dragon has a nasty belly
>>94834950This looks like such a good model to paint.
>>94834872I love the model is everything i could want for a zombie dragon but... I will miss this bad boy.
>>94834959then grab one
So FeC are going to lose their zombie dragon and terrogheist too?
>>94834934>AbhorashA bit samey. They could go for a bit of a twist, while still calling out to the World That Was
>>94834990Just the zombie dragon most likely. Except it's a RoR, so they can still play it (this edition at least).
>>94834959I don't think they look that bad together
Did the STD, Stormcast and Skaven card packs include both spearheads or just the new one for each?If they did then Soulblight is losing probably VLoZD and Terrorgheist.
>>94834872Gordrakk was right, some gitz you have to kill twice
Why do STDs no longer have a full warscroll download?
>>94835179Because they released a real book and they want you to pay for it
With the new zombie dragon being pan-Death Nighthaunt can no longer cry about not having monsters
>>94835190But... aren't the warscrolls always supposed to be free to download and the book is just a glorified collection of fluff?
Is it a dumb idea to buy nagash so I can save money on $ to points ratio as a casual player to get playing with the last money possible?t. likes nagash
>>94835217Do people truly love the HOMO 3 artstyle or is it just stubborn childhood attachment? It looks goofy as hell in a bad way.
>>94835219That was in the past and isn't a thing anymore.
Khorne book with Khul will releas on AoS's 10th aniversary this summer
>>94835220yes, it's dumb
>>94835217Is still not the kind of Dragon that the Nighthaunt army deserves.
>>94835233Malerion edgy anti-hero army. Trust the plan.
>>94835228Early 3D models re-converted to 2D sprites is a quite unique aproach. Usually they'd just go 3D for real
>>94835217No. It's not a ghost. Imagine how much better an actual ghost dragon in Nighthaunt style could look.
>>94835233kino
>>94835220Bringing nagash every game is a great way to not have people to play with
>>94835244It wasn't unique at the time, true 3D was aggressively ugly and not many computers could process it anyway.
Anyone got a pick of the new army tease. I heard some people say their is a bull icon on it so it's chorfs
>>94835252Yeah that's what I figuredFeels bad man
>>94835242Malerion lives in your heart anon. Morathi is in charge.
>>94835252Same but Teclis
>>94835259They are on the way anon.Hashut will lead soon they little fellows to glory.
>>94835246>in Nighthaunt stylenighthaunt style is literally just a skeletal head and a tattered robe covering the hunchback bodybe more innovative than that and ask for a different concept altogether
>>94835259People are saying the chain in the right eye is a bull symbol. But the face still looks Ossiarch to me
Chorfs have not sold well at any point and they will continue to flop. It will be votrannies all over again.
>>94835282Ok but then the main issue exist: The new Zombie Dragon just dont fit well in a NH army.
>>94835293They're replacing Beastmen, so it's not like they have a big shoes to fill
>>94835293Well Total War Warhammer changed everythingSo many people have gotten into Warhammer now because of it and I love playing as Chaos DwarfsI'd definitely go all in with them if GW released them, so long as they don't change the designs/units too much
>>94835290You can tell these threads are filled with urban shitters who cry when they see a tree. They kept saying this face looks like a bull...
>>94835300>TWW changed everything!!!!>Empire, TWW's mascot, is one of the worst selling ToW armies so far
>>94835293Fuck you doomanon, why you can't let people enjoy things? We already lose many factions give the Chorfs the chance.
>>94835290Yeah do we have a clearer Pic of the symbol thing?I'm with you that looks like bone to me. And death magic had long been associated with the spooky green color. I figured the Chaos dwarfs would have fiery molten eyes or whatever.
>>94835303Wait there are retards who think front facing eyes belong to a grazing herbivore?
>>94834950>monopose Why even give it a generic option at that point?
>>94835290>People are saying the chain in the right eye is a bull symbol.you mean to tell me you don't see the motif with the symbol of hashut?
>>94835309Idk, looks like pic related to me
>>94835307Didn't they just get released
>>94835314YES! Go back and witness them!
>>94835303It's the pattern on cloth in the background not the eyes, retard. It's similar to the emblem of the horns of hashut
>>94835307It has always been like this. Alan Merrett said Empire and Bretonnia sold the worst back in the game's heyday, whereas Skaven, Chaos and all of Elves sold the best.
>>94835319the generic option is meant for the other death armies or to milk paypigging waacfagsanyone telling you his army needs more than one giant dragon is either a kid or a tow player
>>94835307People have the wrong impression human armies are interesting or something but the data always shows the contrary, why is that? because if you want realism you just go to a WW wargame, but if you like fantasy you expect something else than play some literal who retards wielding some powder and faith...
>>94835326>belated damage controlLMOA>>94824261
So what are the chances that tomorrow the new gobbos are announced for next weeks preorder?
>>94835293>Chorfs have not sold well at any pointno, actually from the interviews chorfs sold well, and so did squats, their removal had everything to do with the fact GW changed the tone of their settings and felt like how they made these dwarfs' aesthetic was too comedic, so they put them aside and their hands got too occupied with other stuff to pick them up again until now even the forge world chaos dwarfs, despite being overpriced and being made of shitty resin, sold well
>>94835352This interview (I actually think it was an email by Jervis Johnson, not an interview) was about squats, it didn't mention chorfs.
My vibe check from the AoS community is that the number of hardcore Chorf fans is small, but the number of people who would potentially buy a Chorf armybox from hype is reasonably large. I think overall they'll do ok, ultimately it depends on what the actual minis look like and we won't know that until they're announced.
>>94835413all they have to do is give them full armours and big artillery piecesthey can do them with round shapes or angular shapes or tall hats or no hats, all that shit won't matter, all the people want are short chaos warriors with hellcannons>inb4 chaos dwarfs are actually chaos fyreslayers with a heavy emphasis on bull centaurs with no warmachines
>>94835352When the decision to 'squat' squats and Chirfs was made GW was already a publicly traded company going full greed mode. If they 'sold well' then there is zero chance the line would have been allowed to stop production. They didn't 'sell well.' They might have sold enough to break even or make a trickle of money but that is not good
>>94835413Legion of Azgorh was almost perfect with very little flaws. If they are smart they will follow that path.
>>94835307>>Empire, TWW's mascot, is one of the worst selling ToW armies so farDo you have sales stats? Because things being available or sold out on the official GW site are not exactly the clearest indicator.
>>94835413>>94835436Hats, hats, hats, hatsBIG HAAAAATS!!!
>>94835413>but the number of people who would potentially buy a Chorf armybox from hype is reasonably largeThe conversion rate from potential to actual here is often decidedly shite.
>>94835436>>94835445And thus we're shown that no matter what GW does with the chaos dwarves there's gonna be a hell of a lot of complaints about it. Probably accompanied with a lot of claims about sales figures despite no one actually having seen any sales figures.
>>94835429>If they 'sold well' then there is zero chance the line would have been allowed to stop production.yes, there absolutely is, they were overhauling the identity and larger appeal of their IPs and they would have been at max output with their existing lines and newer products.if you think gw couldn't possibly take a decision like that then you have to argue that every single time they make an update for a miniature it's because the previous kit didn't sell, or every time they put a product out of production it had to do with it not selling compared to what they're keeping in production do you want to tell me that sacrosanct stormcasts didn't sell but vanguard stormcasts do sell?
>>94835290Weird how quickly people have forgotten that Umbraneth have been teased for years. This image matches their vibe perfectly
>>94835504Now we are reaching levels of delusion that shouldnt be possible
>>94835413I haven't bought anything from GW since 2015 and I will buy a chorf armybox and some other units and heroes as well.
>>94835526Let me cope, I miss the era of Age of Elfmar
>>94835541I wonder how many who post stuff like that haven't thought about GW's tendency to change things around for GW and thus don't realize that the chaos dwarves they imagine might not quite be what GW delivers (especially given how absurdly specific people can be about what they want for these things), and how many are fully aware that they're just nerd virtue signalling.
>>94835504>their vibeSo what is their vibe exactly? Last I checked it was so vague that almost anything can match it 'perfectly'
>>94835590Oh I'm fully aware that GW might just bait and switch and release something else or, worse, release bad chorfs. Then my no-spending-on-GW streak will continue. No big deal. Just wanted to highlight that well made chorfs would be one of the things my wallet would open for GW.
>>94835599Well from the teasers, they have a fondness for shadows, glowing eyes, and teal-ish tints as is characteristic of Ulgu
>>94835436It's shit. Looks like kitbashed IG. This shit killed its potential, actually.
>>94835541Understandable. Like I'm not interested in TOW but I will almost definitely buy the Cathay armybox.
>>94835599
>>94835526
>>94835636so a slab of rough stone with a wide face and geometric symbols in the beady eyes "matches perfectly" with a floaty faceless ethereal and refined elf with polished and elegant equipment?
>>94835624Personally I like the early Babylonian vibes more than the bland industrial look that came later, but I also do think Chorfs need big guns and warmachines, it's what sets them apart from other Chaos armies. Hopefully whatever the AoS version comes up with threads that needle successfully.
>>94835290It's obviously beastmen
>>94835675>I also do think Chorfs need big guns and warmachines, it's what sets them apart from other Chaos armiesYOU DONT SAY
>>94835701not big enough and too rickety this is a cannon
>>94835678I hope!
>VLotZD got a new modelWhat will happen to terrorgheists now? Are they going to become FEC only?
>>94835711It's physically larger, mr nominis
>>94835714>Are they going to become FEC only? Most likely
>>94835701Faggot rattos maybe have failed rocket science but they will never have industrial power.
>>94835720it's merely longer, but it's a thin piece of shit and the bulk of it is the irrelevant wooden frame
I'm still a little shocked that GW gave away essentially the entire years release schedule for AoS/40K/TOW during the first preview event of the year. I'm glad they did, but man what a change from the last POS roadmap they did.
>>94835752>the entire years release schedule for AoS/40K/TOWnah, it looks like it's a lot because there's many different factions but most of them aren't getting much
>>94835727Damn it, in 3rd I started project - wanted Avengorii, so have Lauka, zombie dragon, terrorgheist and two still unbuilt kits for the terror/zombie dragon. The plan was to also play them as Gristlegore. I guess I will have to get more dragons and wait for fifth...
>>94835762>nah, it looks like it's a lot because there's many different factions but most of them aren't getting muchIrrelevant. That's an entire years worth of releases even if most of them are small, and several of them are more than that.Especially because they all end on basically the biggest releases with Chorfs, Cathay and Space Wolves. It's unlikely they could fit in much more than 8 battletomes in one year for AoS AND the last one is a full new army release.
>>94835776Nothing stops you from using terors as dragons
>>94835476>every single time they make an update for a miniature it's because the previous kit didn't sellThats literally the fucking opposite.Yhing sells well, you update it so you can sell it again, kit that dont sell well remain unapdated for 25 years
>>94835785You are right, I am filthy casual, so nobody would mind, and it will probably end this way. But internally, I feel it as injustice and a unit taken away from me.
>>94835815>I am filthy casualLike if theres people who would give a shit in a tourney
>>94835778Just to follow up on my point a little bithttps://ageofsigmar.lexicanum.com/wiki/Battletome>2015 4 battletomes>2016 9 battletomes>2017 4 battletomes>2018 7 battletomes>2019 12 battletomes>2020 5 battletomes>2021 7 battletomes>2022 10 battletomes>2023 10 battletomes>2024 5 battletomes12 tomes in one year was the absolute high watermark, and that only happened once for 2E which was the one edition that needed to give every army in the game a book ASAP.Otherwise 8-10 in a year is more or less the standard, and even if GW does sneak in one or two tomes at the end of 2025 that doesn't change much in terms of how much of the schedule they are giving us in mid January, which is still unprecedented
>>94835309>And death magic had long been associated with the spooky green color. I figured the Chaos dwarfs would have fiery molten eyes or whatever. The Horns of Hashut have green eyes on their bull helmets
>>94835752Yeah, they really kicked it up a notch there.
>>94835778in 2022 they had 10 battletomes released, right after they released 3rd edition in 2021, they were empty releases with just the tome and maybe a pity hero attached to a battle box, but still, they have to do many of those too this time around and they have increased their output since.
>>94835880What awful year...
I am still too much of a midwit to understand why vampires ride massive dragons instead of massive bat like creatures
>>94835909If you could bring a dragon back to life and make it submit to your will enough to ride it around like a horse, wouldn't you?
>>94835909not everything has to be bat themed and dragons are cool plus there's a long-standing association between dragons and vampires due to dracula
>>94835880With Beastmen going to TOW, the number of battletomes for AoS remains unchanged at 24 even with Chorfs added. So far we've gotten 4 for 4E, SC, Skaven, STD, and Warclans. The roadmap has 8 for this year, that's 12. That leaves 12 more books to release in 2026 and early 2027Mind you, I'm not saying the roadmap is LITERALLY everything that will release in 2025, they might squeeze in like one more battletome or pair of battletomes at best, but that's still giving us 90% of the year revealed in mid January and that's still crazy.
>>94835922>So far we've gotten 4 for 4E, SC, Skaven, STD, and Warclans. The roadmap has 8 for this year, that's 12you counted warclans twice here
>>94835900It was an utterly depressing year for talking about new releases, I remember it vividly. At least the Sylvaneth update was kinda cool, and the STD armybox released for Christmas. 2023 was a way better year though.
>>94835909Bats are shit compared to Dragons anon.
>>94835938Nope>SC Skaven STD WarclansThat's 4>Gits, SBGL, NH, IDK, Khorne KO, FEC, ChorfsThat's 8Are you mixing up Warclans and Gits?
>>94835880When Ogres, Fyreslayers, Idoneth and DoT will get a real release? I mean Skavens got their shit, trees have a good range same with DoK and Nighthaunt but those 4 factions could use a real release instead of a pity hero.
>>94835948I wasn't counting chorf and was counting warclans as a 2025 release, looking at >>94834910
>>94835909If they need a bat they can let themselves mutate into one.
>>94835950Three of those probably aren't even releasing this year so who knows. It's too early for rumors if they're coming out 2026 or later. IDK, there's a small bit of hope from rumormongers they get more than the bare minimum this time, but it's still murky.
>>94835950idoneth are on the roadmap, but I don't think they're getting muchI'm expecting ogres getting a range refresh (changing or removing anything that was made before the mournfangs, stonehorn and cannon) near the end of the edition fingers crossed for slayers, the concept deserved much more than the abysmal execution and lackluster range they got in early aos
>>94835950Chorfs vs Fyreslayers would be absolutely cool.James should take that chance to make a range for both.
>>94834903>one spire of itGreat idea. Corpse cart should be a chariot for Barrow Kings and vampires IMO
>>94835015Only problem of the old one is subpar head. Gheist is much better.
Is the Path to Glory book out yet?(Anyone have a pdf link?)
>>94835297So dose black coach and guy with a half of boat. Paint it spooky and its fine.
>>94835015I think they should keep the zombie dragon in FEC and simply refluff the bits for the vampire on top of the dragon as a golden hallucination that both ghouls and opponents have
>>94835900Enlightener is my favourite hero looks-wise
>>94835950DoK still need about 2 boxes of units. They were a small army on release, since then they got Shadowstalkers and 3 heroes. It was nice because they were lacking in hero department, having 3 heroes tied to the Cauldron kit and Morathi.
>>94835950>same with DoK
>>94835909It's all because the warrior type vampires were called blood dragons in WHFB, initially without a second thought, but then they built their future releases around it. Mind you, the initial zombie dragon rider was a mage - back in those days where every army that could have a dragon was mandated to have one.
>>94836121>>94836122the only thing dok need and deserve is getting relegated into a subfaction of a wider ulgurothi book, with malerion's faction overshadowing their range in numbers of kit out of the gate.
>>94836066Or just make difrent upper torso without armour and boom, done looks cool.
>>94836143Point at the "Umbraneth" delusional retards and laugh, sis!
>>94836143Any day now, surely. What will actually happen is the shadow portion of DoK will be expanded this edition under Foot Fetish lady and rumors of Malerion's return will get pushed even farther back.
>>94835504Weird how quickly you forget the direct teasers in 4th edition rulebooks and multiple leakers saying chorfs are absolutely coming
>>94836143Fuck off back to your gay alliance destruction
>>94836176that would require remaking the moulds, that's the cost intensive part
>>94836143i can't understand people who wish for this... i mean i can understand wanting malerion guys but hope all the same for the squat of a good and interesting faction like dok when malerion have room with the whole shadow demon stuff to be something else is just being faggot for the sake of faggotry.
>Spider Riders squatted and Spiderfang is only represented by the Arachnarok Grim
>>94836143Unlikely at this point. They've been their own army for too long to be turned into a subfaction.
>>94836285wonder if the spider riders will be moved to TOW since they have rules for them in that game or like Save Orcs will simply not be sold anymore
>>94836285First them, Now the goblino version!!Is unfair,bros!!
>>94836306TOW better release them eventually I need Boarboys for Warcry/2e
>>94836245>good and interesting faction like dokit's not a faction, it's literally just morathi and mini-morathis who are not allowed to be, do or even think anything other than what morathi saysthe one character that's not like that was introduced practically yesterday, is completely antithetical to the faction to the point it canonically cannot use 3 of the 5 basic units kits, and the one kit it is most thematically linked to is the one unit every single dokfag hates and is attached to a build option of a unit that's getting squatted soon, meaning the kit will be going away too
>>94836314Everything you said is miles better than what they could do with the Druuchi faggot lmao
>>94836292Are moonclan not merely one subfaction of the gits tome now?the only difference between the gits situation and the khainite situation is that the tome will change name and the models getting added will be more numerous than the ones that exist in the book.
>>94836301Savage Orcs have rules for TOW as well, alongside Mega Gargants and Boingrot Bounderz. It doesn't really mean anything
>>94836339>Lurk Liar >Bad MoonIt's a Moonclan book with misc friends thrown in
>>94836339This take is so retarded... Moonclan is the base of the faction, adding some wolves with the sun theme, the same as adding the crow lady to introduce some conflict in between the faction doesnt mean you can change the fundamental identity and aesthetic of an army.
>The grots of the Gitmobs revel in the light of the Bad Moon just like their grotto-dwelling kin, but unlike their damp, anaemic, sun-hating Gloomspite cousins, they view the searing entity called the Glareface Frazzlegit (the realm of Hysh to us) as a bully who chases around their much vaunted Bad Moon. I thought Gitmob worshipped the sun?
>>94836346savage orcs don't have their unit profile, they're merely represented by a unit upgrade the devil of GW's internal laws is in details like these
>>94836358Crow girl does not clash with the core theme of the army in any way, unlike the genghis goblins in the Moonclan tome.
>>94836361They do, they came up with some stupid reason why it's acktchyually the moon, but it was so cringe that I forgot it
>>94836314>the one character that's not like that was introduced practically yesterday, is completely antithetical to the faction to the point it canonically cannot use 3 of the 5 basic units kits,Wow, it's almost like she's the harbringer of a new thematic wave of DoK units. A Herald, even.
>>94836365Well the fundamental themes of DoK are blood, snakes and ladies. The blind girl with tengu wings is not what you would call a cohesive factor.
>>94836361it's a lesser retcon, they went from worship to respect/hate relationship which is honestly more fitting since they're greenskins and since the sun is literally elf-landgoblins have had an enmity with elves for a long time in warhammer
they should have added him if they wanted gotta go fast!goblinos.
>>94836376When Blind Girl was introduced, the announcers literally read off their little card that she represented the Shadow Side of DoK, instead of the blood side. How stupid are you to not understand what that implies, seriously?
>>94836364So? There are rules for Savage Orcs as well as Big Stabbas. They're written with the 8e kit in mind
>>94836385Wasn't in WHF's setting Isn't in TOW Was never played in WHFB because named character slop
>>94836385They don't need to, they just took the core concept of fat fucker who likes chariots and going fast and built the whole subfaction around it.
>>94836385Kill yourself thirdworlder
>>94834872He looks like he was sired by Abhorash.
>>94836400>So?so a unit profile means there's plans for it being represented by a productwhile not every equipment option requires representation in the old worldthey do intend you to use the 8e kit, informally, but they don't plan to bring back the 8e kit
>>94836385They practically did, in spirit if not in nameThe light of eltharion will once again have to see one or more fat goblins on a chariot pulled by wolves attacking his elven homeland
>>94836442the homage is direct enough that they used the motif of the chariot being built with a horned skull into its frame
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJhyEHSh9DU&ab_channel=WarhammerSorry but i will always prefer the actual Moon chads over the weird Sun shit.
>>94836432That's just copium. They both have rules.
>Warhammer Fantasy references rumors of other vampire bloodlines, like a secret chinese one, naima the chinese vampire girl who doesn't sire more vamps, rumors that Vlad was not vashanesh but a totally different guy so vashanesh is out there, maatmeses disgusting locust vampires, Harakhte's jiang-shi jadeblooded>dies>Age of Sigmar has the opportunity to do these kinds of off the wall vamps but chooses to do furries (werewolves), strigoi and blood dragons insteadAoS sometimes disappoints me with ugly new designs, then disappoints me in other ways by not trying out something new.
>>94836481Faggot
>>94836536He's completely right. AoS vampires are almost all terrible.
>>94836361Somewhere else it said that they like the sun because it's a mean bully and they look up to that

>>94836540>AoS does werewolfs instead of grasshoper vampires, how terrible!!!1!

They could turn into and summon wolves. However, GW improved them by giving them an Eastern European aesthetic, which the whole realm of Shyish shares.Strigoi were remade into a separate army and they're so much better now, it's not even funny. Should I get a maw krusha? I have the finger on the trigger of my next wave of reinforcements for my Ironjawz, and I need heroes. I almost certainly need a shaman to use my the new manifestations.Otherwise I'm not sure if I should get a maw krusha or the spearhead. Any advice? Right now I have battleforce +unit of brutes
Friendly warning to anyone building big pig. Put the ass strap on before the rear hip plates or at least dry fit it.The instructions have you put it on afterwards but the tail is in the way and the rear hip plates are so snug up against the body that it becomes difficult to fit it in and the strap piece itself snaps very easily, it's quite delicate
>>94837934Mawkrushas a fun model, spearhead is like twice the points for the same price though so it will fill out an army faster, and everything in it is good. I would get the spearhead first, you need to bulk out that force, if you get the spearhead + 1 more box of ardboyz that should give you 2x20 ardboyz, 2x5 brutes a mawgrunta, a megaboss, and I believe 9 ragerz All of that gets you just shy of 2k pts, and you can work in zogrokk and/or an ardboy big boss with a little points finagling. All of that would be a pretty solid, sturdy ardboy centric ironjawz army that's a good easy to use 2k. After that you can start adding frills and niche units like the manifeststions and terrain, a mawkrusha, weirdnob/warchanter, or more pigs, but I would focus on getting a playable 2k core first so you can actually start playing games and have an army on the field

>>94839650>GW wants the bad guy side to be hordey.correction, they want one side to be hordey, and it's usually the bad guys side because the good guys side is some kind of elite supersoldier, BUT stormcasts have reached critical mass in their range, there's evidently a saturation, and in their attempt to further separate them from marines they might go ahead and give them a more numerous lower rank of models, or even let someone else take the spot for one edition, perhaps cities of sigmar, or even fyreslayers or normal dwarfswhere GW once had a particular necessity to not have too much skin and faces on the starter because they realised people and especially newcomers were overwhelmed with painting skin and faces, now there's contrast paints that make that particular part of painting relatively easy.It is farfetched, I expect ogres as a normal release this edition, but it's to say that a lot of things are actually possible.
>>94839725GW said they need one side to be easy to paint for kids, like Space Marines, with little skin and lots of flat armor panels. My god, what if the next starter is OBR vs CoS because OBR will be the easy to paint children's faction?!
>>94839441You're the retarded faggot. Read a fucking book. How was he in 1e lit? How is he now? Fucking hurr durr he's out of the picture
>>94839542Ossiarch are an extreamly starter bait army. Noob can paint them battle ready with like 3 paints (light/dark blue contrast and bone contrast). GW would be retarded not to put them in a starter
>>94839755>How was he in 1e lit? dead, eternal and with a plan>How is he now?dead, eternal and with one and a half successful plans under his beltdo you really think nagash won't do anything ever again? how dumb can you be?
>>94839733>My god, what if the next starter is OBR vs CoS because OBR will be the easy to paint children's faction?!That would be a hilarious mirror of this edition's starter with the clean larger than life supersoldiers fending off the unwashed masses of humanoids trying to overwhelm them with numbers and guns
>>94839792My issue is that when OBR gets there 4th edition book they will probably only get a pity hero until 5th edition assuming im right. Im tired of how small the range is and its dominated by heroes. I dont know how IDK bros handle this neglect id say the same for fyreslayer fans but im sure all 12 of them are insane.
>>94838864>Would you consider manifestations frills?yeah. there might be a couple armies that are actually balanced around constantly having and casting manifestations but not ironjawz. if your regular opponents are StD and seraphon, a wizard might give you a chance to dispell for StD, but seraphon are usually going to be casting their manifestations at a +1 or +2 bonus from pretty substantial range, so im not sure how much a basic weirdnob would even be effective against them, and they would also have an unlimited unbind range to counter your spells if they are bringing a slann, or an unlimited unbind range with an unbinding bonus if they are bringing kroak.and looking at the ironjawz endless spells, they arent doing anything tremendously impactful. a bit of damage, a bit of casting buffs, and some objective denial. all pretty niche. fun, but not anything game breaking not to have. the regular spell lore and prayer lore you will miss more i think, with the standouts there being the teleport from hand of gork, and the get em beat to coin flip for a long charge. both are nice bonuses to have, but ironjawz are already fighting over hero spaces and with how good an ardboy boss and zogrokk are, its perfectly reasonable for them to edge out a wizard or priest. that said you want the wizard or priest they could just as easily replace zogrokk or the ardboy boss in teh previously mentioned list. the tower is a bit more impactful, a free 18" 1 dice penalty to charge rolls your opponent can do nothing about is strong, but it is a coinflip, and it does strongly urge you to have a hero who is just going to sit back in the tower, so its not the end all be all for ironjawz. you wont automatically lose games for not having it. i mean if money is no object, obviously get them all, it will help you to have them handy even if you dont always use em, but as far as what i would consider a priority, getting the bodies to actually put 2000pts of boots on the ground comes first
>>94839755Nagash literally ordered the dregeding of Lethis to get the elderbone stuff to make giga constructs and armies with. He then wanted Lethis destroyed and Katakros wants it destroyed too but won't admit he wants it gone. Zandtos is now in charge of taking the breached city.If you're talking about Teclis blasting Nagash apart so he had no ability to manifest in a physical body, then sure. But Teclis is also cursed and saying he isn't going to do anything because of the curse is silly. Nagash is 'alive' in the sense he gives orders, he just isn't marching about doing shit rn.
What scale do blood knight heads take? 32mm or 28mm?
How bad is it to not run the mortarchs in soulblight?I just don't like the model at all
>>94839831>Im tired of how small the rangeThis can be said for so many factions it isn't even funny>Fyreslayers (also what's a good abbreviation for Fyreslayers? FS?)>IDK>DoK>KO>Ogres (if not being squatted)>DoT>MoN
>>94839850Is vhordrai a mortarch?
>>94839865nothe current roster is>arkhan>katakros>olynder>manfred>neferata>ushorantraditionally, nagash likes having 9 mortarchs, so 3 still to go
>>94836442i dont even think this goblin is that particularly fat ,hes mostly just wearing a gutplate that seems to make him look more fat than he isWhich mind you i think thats intentional, as if the gitz themselves are looking back on gromm and saying "yeah, we should try to be more like that"
>>94839888>so 3 still to goI vote these>mistress of all flesh>a nameless wight king>shordemaire (as a joke)
>>94839933he's got a double chin, he might not be as rotund as grom, but that gobbo is the fattest after him and the dude on the alpha wolf
>>94839943honestly Shordemaire should be. It would also be really funny after Sunchompa, doing two mounted heroes where the mount is the real hero
>>94835228Bit of both. Of course nostalgia is hell of a drug, but due to technical limitations the designs of older works just had another flair going on for them. Of course they were goofy but it was all that was available at the time and people used their imagination to perceive them as more then just the 2D Sprite.Btw HoMMIII Necromancy is quite similar to WHFB Vampire Lords in Flair: Baroque Necromancy.
>>94840015I'm not really saying shordemaire should be the one in charge, between him and vhordrai, just that nagash values what he's done and what he's doing (reanimating draconiths in undeath) and is technically granting him lordship over them all on paper in the form of a title, even if he's actually not going to rule a real kingdom, because nagash has that kind of sense of irony
>>94840064Ideally both Shordemaire and Vhordrai should consider themselves the leader of the pair
>>94840064"What is my purpose" - "You reanimate your dead buddies but then need to carry that vampire around instead of doing dragon stuff" - "Oh my..."Yep, peak Nagash. I see this works out, you have my vote
>>94839943Considering Arkhan joined Katakros in leading the Ossiarch, it would be nice if SBGL got a Wight Mortarch to lead the bone brigade
>>94840094>but then need to carry that vampireI wonder if they're going to touch on how the two met or got in their current partnership, because I doubt nagash micromanaged that, and it certainly can't be vhordrai who got reanimated and is keeping the dragon under his control like a normal vampire would have done with a nameless mindless pile of dragon bones without will or agenda
>>94839943>>shordemaireHe's got the title too, lord of revenants, just has to change lord to mortarch.
>>94840160How did GW even decided to add Whoredrai? It wasnt an olda fantasy character, they didnt add new bits to the kit, did they just say "this specific zombie dragon build is now a completely new named hcaracter noone heard of before"?
>>94839943My bets are:Lady of Flesh (Deadwalkers)Nu-Kemmler (We still need to see the mortals of Death)Vyrkos Mortarch (SBGL)
>>94840274The character existed in the lore for many years before they decided to give him a Warscroll. They probably just decided that since they had built an entire dynasty around him they might as well attempt to make him actually playable. Also given the lead time for creating new models he probably only got a warscroll AFTER they started working on his new model.
>>94836907Felix had a wife and a daughter he never got to see
