Fincher understood that Ripley doesn't get a happy ending - she is too inextricably linked to the alien and will share its fate. as ripley took the queen's family in 2, the queen posthumously takes ripley's in 3. her jump into the foundry with the queen chestburster is the logical climax of the original trilogy and a perfect, dark ending for the series that embodies the idea of mankind vs the indifferent horrors of the void.

I can't find anything at allI've seen Daisies, Morgiana, Beauty and the Beast, Alucarda, Jean Rollin, pretty much all the Czech fantasy films but none of them are really similar beyond maybe some cinematography.
