What the fuck, there was a sequel to Chinatown?
>Have a Jake.>Have two.
>>215555761it was one of seceral sequels to Chinatown written in the 1980s, the best one would end up becoming Who Framed Roger Rabbit
>>215555761Yes. Duh. >I'm going to make a thread showcasing how ignorant I am!
What do you think of men who wear briefs for underwear?
>>215551280holy manlet cope and seethe lmao. are you cycling estrogen again, little guy?
>>215551035is this a thing in Europe maybe? I know they wear speedos sometimes. But in the US no straight man wears these. They look exactly like women’s underwear

NO NO COSPLAYS NOT CONSENT
This is a good movie. Didn't expect it to be so goofy. The main military guy in the war room was great, and felt like a prior incarnation of Woody Harrelson.Thoughts?
>>215554614You mean George C. Scott? Legendary actor.Yeah, I love this movie, but that isn't exactly a novel opinion. Peter Sellers as three different characters is also pretty epic.
>>215554614The world ends because the Soviets were trying to steal our precious bodily fluids.
George C. Scott actually wanted to play his role more seriously, but Kubrick told him to "go wild" as warm up and said he'd never actually use those takes, only he totally did and that really pissed Scott off kek
I wish I could re-watch this for the first time just for the moment where it becomes obvious it's just a goofy comedy and not some slow burn "so deep" shit. I only watched it because the trailer was so weird and had no idea what it was actually about, one of the best decisions I ever made, kino of the highest order
>>215554614Indeed, one of the best comedies of all time. The names of the charactersThe final scene with Peter Sellers unable to control it's raising arm saying they should take the most fertile women and start from scratchAnd within all the topnotch humour, thee political message is dope That scene where your proto woody harrelson is telling french gendarm Peter Sellers about how the communist are poisoning their precious vital fluids with fluor in the water. Unpayable. It's so cool it's talking about fluor conspiracy In space the movie was translated as "Red telephone: we fly toward Moscow"
Watched Chungking Express and liked it a lot.More chinese kinos? Not necessarily like this.
for me it's
Anyone got movies taking place during the 1900s recommendations? The earlier the better.
Raise the Red Lantern is pure kino. Gong Li is hot too.
that era where hollywood began cooperating with china (or at least casting a lot of chinese people and added chinese themes to movies) produced some entertaining stuff
Tiananmen Square.
Is there any chance this will be good and not woke?
>>215555780It wasn't, yes it had some amazing character moments especinally in the 4th and 5th seasons, but it mever had the charm and rewatchability of Buffy. I can watch a Buffy episode any time in any mood and rewatch the whole series every 3-4 years. Angel? Eh
>>215555457I see you know nothing about male feminists
>>215555780Angel's seasons 1 & 2 are shit. It picks up in season 3 and the last season is pure kino, true. In fact, it might be the single most WTF moment I have ever seen on tv when the bad guys firm just hand the keys to Angel and his gang. actual genius writing
>>215555746No unfortunately thats one of the nu Scoobies This is nu Buffy
>>215555871ah damn. this one looks OK but more like a nu Faith to me. She seems a little too cold for Buffy.

Saw the first episode, what did I think of it?
>>215555680>no racism to really speak ofThe Black Spot was burned down and Bowers calls Mike a nigger a bunch of times in the book/TV miniseries.
>>215544574IDK why this bothered you, I interpreted it as typical schizo jewish dad with his fake holocaust stories, and then the entity playing off of the horror the idea of a Jew lampshade made in the kid's mind. Nothing about the scene is making a straightforward claim about lampshades in the holocaust. If the dad told him there's a golem waiting to murder him that's what he'd have seen.
>>215555713>The Black Spot was burned downThis hasn't happened yet in this adapation.
>>215555680>is now a full on racist town that hates the brave good black people that moved there. Pennywise is now a pro-black antihero, and most of his kills involve saving black kids from evil white kids, some as young as like 8 years old. Also the soviets and us government want pennywise to use as a weaponTHIS SOUNDS UNWATCHABLE WTF AM I READING
>>215554187Well, in the book IT is actually quite capable of killing off the kids willy nilly. Infact it's about to do that when it's cockblocked by the turtle. The turtle is what allowed the loser's club to fight back, not just their bond. Their bond helped sure, but it alongside the ritual of chud and the turtle is what allowed them to defeat IT..... temporarily. As far as the sustenance thing....also not quite true. IT is actually an eldritch being who has existed for an unfathomably long period of time. It's actually explained in the book that IT can survive however it pleases, but it just likes the taste of kids. These misconceptions are why people think Freddy Krueger beats IT when that's quite far removed from the truth. Infact the movies should just lean into whole cosmic horror angle. So far they just emphasize too much of his clown form and body horror while making him a jobber. And just as a side note>For his powers to be effective This may sound like powerscaling wank, but IT does explain in a monologue that he can basically become an asteroid and just kill everyone if he wants. There is no actual limit to his power besides that which IT imposes on itself like the weakness of each form it takes (werewolf = silver bullet and so on). Yeah the book is full of stuff like this.
I don't get it. Who are the aliens supposed to be an allegory for?
>>215547204For any real anon passing by The movie was based on Nelson's shirt story "Eight o'clock in the morning"(here is a pdf)https://pvto.weebly.com/uploads/9/1/5/0/91508780/eight_o%E2%80%99clock_in_the_morning-nelson.pdfTo OP, seriously?
