>>217011573I grew up with Much Music in Canada... which was basically Canada's MTV... They aired almost all of the same videos. Probably the first music video I ever saw on TV that I have any memories of: https://youtu.be/djV11Xbc914?list=RDdjV11Xbc914Much Music died like a decade before MTV. It still kinda lives on as a corpse. But not really.
>>217009221Who cares, the vastly superior Brazilian MTV died like 14 years ago
I encouraged my daughter to explore the kitchen after watching movies like Ratatouille, Chowder, Menu, The Bear.....I thought it was wholesome to learn a vocation like the culinary arts. She would bake and cook, but what she really enjoyed was fast food prep. Don't ask me why. So I would take her to visit McDonalds and Burger King and she had a blast. I even went as far as to get her the Family Box of 10 Whataburger's because they put all the ingredients to assemble at home. I've done this a handful of occasions, but each time I find that she eats all of the food. My intention was for her to enjoy making the meals and 'sell' them to members of the family or neighbors. What do I do now?
Will Blood Meridian win Best Picture in 2027?
>>217011469The Judge is the coolest villain ever. He’s like the Joker, but somehow even more bone-chilling.
>>217011566cartoonish*
>>217011566That’s because for the Joker, the joke he laughed at was society. For the Judge, the joke he the laughs at is humanity.
>>217011469Have they even cast it yet? Last I heard John Hillcoat was attached to direct but that feels like ages ago and nothing has happened. Might end up being another instance where a Blood Meridian adaptation fails to get off the ground.

british officers were expected to stand on deck and never take cover even when being fired on and shrapnel easily being able to kill them, while the rest of the crew ducked for cover. It was the price of being in command and naval discipline came first in the royal navy beyond all else, forming the bedrock of british naval superiority. It got Lord Nelson killed in the battle of trafalgar, where he wiped out napoleans fleet and signed napoleans death certificate, he got hit by shrapnel while standing fast on deck.

Should I watch Porco Rosso in English or Japanese?Same question for all of Ghibli for that matter.
Objectively The Boy and The Heron is their best film. Truly a magnum opus that combines all themes and not only serves as its own story, but also a meta narrative on the studio itself. But since you have to go in with outside knowledge to fully understand it, I would say that Spirited Away is likely the second best. I personally rate Mononoke higher, but Spirited Away has more mass appeal. Most other Ghibli films have at least one flaw such as Nausica, Howls Moving Castle, and Tales From Earthsea all being unfinished partial adaptations, and so on.

Is it the best film ever?
>>217005151Why is there so many 2001 threads today?Oh and to answer your question, absolute yes!

the guy initiates the entire audience into what we deal with today, that this planet is the result two warring hominids. Greatest opening scene in film history, that screen isnt just black for 1 minute
Trojan armour in Nolan's The Odyssey
>>217005896Nolan is literally colorblind and narcissistic enough to not allow someone who is not actually blind to do color grading for him. This movie should be mostly blue and white with red and bronze accents. Luckily ai will be able to fix this hack directors decisions easily in a few years.
>>217011393I agree wholeheartedly. Fuck this shit thread. I want this industry to burn to ashes for good, if this is the ultimate fruit of a century of hard labor. These inheritors of the Earth, today... They're sick and want everyone in a daze of illusions beamed into them from their phones and TVs. Fucking retards.>MUH TWITTER TOLD ME IT'S GOOD.>I HAVE TO REINFORCE THIS GENERIC TRITE BECAUSE I SEE ADS FOR IT!!! AND THIS IS COOL MEME GUY I SEE ON TWITTER HURR DUURRRRRR WHERE ARE MY FUCKING FROOT LOOPS!!!!!!!!!Imagine if Whoopi Goldberg took an actual shit on a plate, and handed it to them. Do you think they'd buy it? Anyone who is still bought into their ponzi scheme by now is confirmed low IQ and physically incapable of the brain function required to escape these mental paradigms. They quite literally rationalize not buying tickets to see some shitty, cheap propaganda movie as being some kind of deliberately evil piece of shit, or a retard. No. It just looks like a shitty, cheap, poorly cast film. Not even because it has niggers, personally, but because it has dysgenic no-talent communists who refuse to back off of an industry. These union member SAG AFTRA faggots need to be investigated by the IRS, with military oversight for lethal protection against mafia intervention. This whole thing is just a way to launder money and scam gullible people. It's disgusting.
>>216998412this is just fascist architecture, greco-roman elements geometrized and simplified but not as monumental which makes it lose all its effectiveness, see for yourselfhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascist_architecture
>>217010626I'll try to break this down because it can be fucking confusing but is also interesting. The "Athena is Ishtar" pipeline unironically comes from Egyptian theologians looking really hard into the mother goddess Mut and Isis as a co-concept. The cult of Isis is really fucking old and her god concept is fractured into multiple gods (using an over-soul much like Ra and Horus) as Egypt ages. This is also the same as Bastet, once just one cat goddess who became many. That's an important nugget. You see Egypt through its conquering had to incorporate many concepts as a grew. It did not start out united as one place. One of these areas/ peoples was the culture who rose from Bubastis, which is where Mut and Egypt's cat god idea *may have come from, as that place is as old as Egypt's Second Dynasty. The name Bubastis is translated as "House of Bast" as in, the cat goddess Bast which Egypt would incorporate, who was also tied to Sekhmet and Tefnut (which are together with Bastet, are the "ladies or cats of Isheru" which is another name for Mut, which the Nile symbolizes, who had a lioness aspect when she was at war.So consider the above, as the Akkadian mother goddess, Ishtar, as a concept also had lioness symbolism when at war. Because she IS Inanna, just from the older Sumerian translation. They are the same god and both older then the entire span of ancient Egypt itself which was once PART of both the Sumerian and Akkadian empires. The Sumerian/ Akkadian civilization, who warred with each other had many of its collective concepts just migrated to the young Egypt becoming re-invented. The oldest city known to exist is Ur, you can still go there, it's ruins are a tourist trap now. Ur, as a place, is where humans first developed writing in Sumerian Cuneiform (as far as can be found). And the fucking Egyptians wrote in their own version of that cuneiform first, Before they ever developed the famous hieroglyphic system.

>The "pillow face" phenomenon has sparked debate following the release of the latest season of Stranger Things, where fans have pointed out the lack of facial expressions in Millie Bobby Brown. This effect, caused by excessive use of fillers, leaves the face swollen and stiff, limiting the facial mobility necessary for acting. Although Millie has never confirmed undergoing surgeries or facial fillers, some blame the script for diminishing Eleven's narrative weight, while others suggest that these cosmetic procedures affect the emotional intensity that once defined the actress.
>>217011490True. But I think GOT at least had quality seasons. And gooners were happy.I've watched Stranger Things. None of it is good.

>>217010748I don't know where in Australia that accent is from but a lot of the Australian migrants in California sound like that. I know it's not standard Australian after going there but a lot do sound like that in LA where Tarantula is from. I think we get a lot of the rurals who were recently educated. My understanding is that the accent has died out major population centers in the last 30 years as American/British English is dominant and coopted in major global urban areas but it's still hard in the middle of no where towns. Same thing here. You don't really hear strong Minnesota or southern accents prevalent until you hit the small towns or talk to old people.
