Why has Hollywood lowered the bar with CGI on big budget films? Is it no longer a good return on the investment? Was it just a gimick like 3D movies? Too many CGI companies competing for lowest bid? People just look at their phones while watch movies so who cares? Inflation? Streaming services overtaking movie theater experience?
>>214416489I've heard from Possum that more a d more movies are being simplified because they know people who are on their phones will lose the plot if they are only giving the movie half their attention.
>>214416489None of this matters. The advent of AI-generated content is upon us. Hollywood will replace their animators for something that costs little to nothing. It's inevitable.
In 1999 I paid for Star Wars and got Star Sports. >But it's like the Ben-Hur chariot death race.Blood sport is not war, and movies about races are sports movies
>>214416285so, for you, it wasn't pod racing
Why are they playing space chess they should be having WARS
>>214416528i don't mind if a guy plays his gamegear or whatever while he's waiting for the elevator to arrive to talk about the war plans. that's not cutting to a different film for 40 minutes to do a completely unrelated racing story with all the racing movie tropes
Some anon posted this a year ago and that got me intrigued so I gave Law & Order SVU a chance and was riveted. I've been watching 2 episodes a night and I'm shocked that the quality has not dropped much. I am on Season 15 Episode 14. I like Amaro but I was sad to see Elliot Stabler leave the show. I thought it was because he took on a role in MoS but apparently he's in his own spin-off about Organized Crime? Is it or any of the other spin-offs or even the original worth watching?

>Horror moviethis shit was hilarious. Its literally a comedy like wtf. Americans have too much joie de vivre to make a horror movie. Its too joyful, too energetic, too funny.
>Americans abandon and leave their family to die and call them parasites>Refuse to help them>Must work work work always contribute always get money work work workParasites? All I see are demons refusing to help their aunt she acted in self defense.

Started watching this. Saw first two. Third is getting kinda dumb. What do you guys think? This was before they had to DEI movies.
>>214414891extremely comfy flick, always made me wanna travel around europe
>>214414891The 5th one has a scene so retarded that it makes my blood boil. A standard normal SWAT van, which I looked up, weighing no more than an ambulance, is literally THROWING cars into the air as it crashes past them. And the stupid fucking fascist mobile is absolutely unscathed. It literally ruins all of Jason Bourne.
>>214414891you look tired, OP
>>214416333That entire movie is trash and stupid. I hope Julia Stiles got paid.
First two are goat comfy eurotour spy flick, third is boring, Jason Bourne is just straight up action hero dogshit. The Jeremy Renner spin-off is a big nothing that sets up a kind of capeshit super-human lore to explain Bourne's amazing abilities, it really is fucking dumb.

I don't get the hate for these movies. They were good in their own right.
>>214415172No they weren't.It's just that compared to Disney, they look like Ben Hur
>>214415172Well apparently the only people hating on them at the time were the boomers with internet access.
>>214416180>Well apparently the only people hating on them at the time were the boomers with internet access. No, boomers didn't feel super strongly about the prequels in either direction because only the very youngest of the tail end of the generation were still teenagers when A New Hope released. The overwhelming majority of boomers were adults well into their 20s when they saw Star Wars for the first time and many were in their 30s when ESB dropped. It was genx who got their panties in a twist over the prequels because it didn't live up to their childhood nostalgia driven expectations of what Star Wars was supposed to be. If you look into the figures who have been the most aggressively outspoken about how awful the prequels were and how they ruined Star Wars and never should have happened, almost all of them turn out to be mid to late genxers. Boomers, millennials and zoomers don't have the same knee jerk reaction to the prequels being brought up because they all see Star Wars for what it is, an influential space fiction movie franchise. They don't attach their very identity to it so when it does things they don't expect or don't like it doesn't feel like a personal affront.Turns out growing up as latchkey kids with one VHS tape at home to keep the nerds who didn't want to play outside entertained did have some deleterious effects in the end.
>>214416464still doesn't change the fact that the prequels were slop.>Pademe dies of a broken hearrrrrrrrt.
>>214416480>still doesn't change the fact that the prequels were slop.Well yeah, but so was the OT. It's all the same shit made by the same guy. That's the entire point. If you watch them outside the "cultural context" they're just fun popcorn movies. A generation got a little too gassed up by word of mouth marketing and now consider it akin to a religious text when it was always just a fun little space opera adjacent adventure romp made by a giant Joseph Campbell fan.

>>214415563The section of his book about the making of was more interesting to me. It should have been its own book, taxes taking half the gofundme, searching locations outside of LA for a boiler room setting meeting strange characters along the way, the unnamed guy who was a menace on set even stealing props.sadly its only about 40 pages long for that section but the collage arc was kinda kino too.

She's crashing her metabolism with no survivors. And its kind of a shame, she was mildly slammable back in the day although I doubt Pitt ever thought so. She aimed too high.
