is there a site out there that lets you input a letterboxd profile and then creates a kind of game where you are given two films that profile has seen and then you have to choose which you like more? I need something like this to help me rerate all my films because just staring at the ratings screen is putting me to sleep and I'm not actively thinking about if these films need to change ratings after about 5 minutes. if a site like this doesn't exist, one of you should get on it

Why has his reputation completely tanked these last two generations? Not only do zoomers not care about him, but actual cinephiles sneer at him in favor of moving paintings like antonioni and bresson and bergman. I remember when fellini was hands down considered the GOAT

>>200766107There's a strong preference for not only rediscovered female names like Varda and Ackermann due to the "female gaze" discourse, but also Godardian collage/fragmented narratives and liberal dialogues type films.Tarantino and Noe bask in zoomers' glory exactly due to these reasons.I can't imagine such viewers having patience for Italian neorealism at all.Zoomers are also a multimedia audience, when they want to see a film, they want multiple mediums at once and once they get a universally relatable story which is simultaneously expressionist fashion photography and video art from someone like Wong Kar-Wai, Fellini's traditionalism pales in comparison.Media has entered into a competition and hierarchy of attention spans and Italian neorealism can't catch up in that aspect.

>>200763804That's precisely what attracts people to Gallo, the young layer of self-reflexivity that is sincere to the point of being vulnerable to the touch and hasn't yet grown old with additional thicker layer of ironic detachment that stems from developed self-awareness. The hostility and aggression of this stage views itself as a protective reaction to the vulnerability and this way feels free from resposibility, giving in to the narcissism of false innocence. The artistic maturation that Gallo experiences as a filmmaker in the film is a mirror of the natural maturation of young adults.

>>200806620I just used the template ones. I've seen more than a thousand films bro
>>200807725Entry level shitwatch more movies
>>200807755lol
>>200806539Dupont et Dumont
>>200807873in all seriousness, 1000 films is pretty much entry level. I've seen 3730 and I'd still say I'm pretty entry level
>>200808034What if I've seen like 5000 films and not a single one from before 90s?
>>200807725Your entire "Beyond Classics" tier is filled with dogshit that no one with even some slight film knowledge would rate that highly.Stop pretending you have watched more than you actually have.
>>200808129I wouldn't even understand how that's possible
>>200808154I dunno, NTA but I see a few classics in that tier. I’m also not a pretentious fuck though
>>200808218>pretentiousNot an argument.

>>200808402Yep, looks like Napoleon.
>>200808256Never said it was. it’s simply a matter of taste but this is /film/ after all
Watched Metropolitan and found it real comfy. Kinda wish i was in that yuppie world during those early 90's.
>>200805101Yeah I think you’re 100% retarded
>>200808218You're just a retarded fuck.
>>200805151I’m absolutely fine with all of that except eating poop
>>200808771Kek, what’s your issue with that chart exactly? Not obscure enough?
>>200808769Yeah I think that's 100% of the population
>>200808034Bro, I'm 27 years old, Uni masters degree (in process) and a life. I don't only watch films. I'd say that entry level depends on what kind of films you watch. I, as a connoiseur of b-movies and horror, consider myself a patrician.
>>200808154It's just my imo. Feel free to make a tierlist like mine, then we'll roast you
>>200808892Bro needs Abel Gance Napoleon in beyond classics as the only film in the tier, then everything else in "insult to kino"
>>200808812They will make you only eat poop then. Those sects are based in trauma and making you do shit against your will, it's literal slavery
>>200809261Ok I lied, I absolutely love eating poop so that would be a waste of time on me, don’t even consider it.But I absolutely cannot stand having hours and hours of sex with extremely attractive underage women

>>200757984I tried to watch this but my god is it boring

>>200815649Post letterboxd
>>200815616let me guess since you speak spanish you assume a level of competency in french and portuguese that you don't actually possess. self-learned latin and greek to appear studied. gave up on everything non-romance.
>>200814021Fucking based
>>200815698Not really, I had some french classes in Uni and got certified a "basic level" and was given the chance to go up to intermediate level, but I leave that for the future, as I feel that french is pretty easy and I can learn it on my own watching movies and videos. Portuguese is just straight up spanish, so I have a very decent use of the language.I also had greek and latin classes in college and I got a certified "intermediate level" in Old Greek and "advanced" in latin. The other languages mentioned I've just learned through watching videos of people speaking them. Forgot to mention that I also have a "below basic" but not dogshit level in Old Sanscrit.
>>200815617lol why is “boring” the new go-to bait for /film/?That and “it says nothing”You’re actually self-identifying as being filtered by the film if you’re bored or can’t identify what a film is saying
>>200815841>lol why is “boring” the new go-to bait for /film/?Likely not bait. Zoomers are genuinely that dumb.
>>200815828>Portuguese is just straight up SpanishJust as much as Scottish is straight up English
Baking the new
>>200815901More like "just as much as aussie slang is straight up English" tomaito tomato type shit
>>200815841>>200815889it's just boring frfrfr
>>200815841>>200815889It's valid. Human is a black box, movie goes in, reaction comes out.Saying it was boring meaning if failed to induce any reaction.
>>200816013>>200816013>>200816013
>>200815841I was not entertained or interested in what was happening. Call me retarded if you want but it wasn't for me. I also find the dubbing and sound effects from old movies very grating to listen to.
>>200816014It's the least interesting thing one could say about a movie, as it speaks more about the viewer's emotions, than the content or form of the film. Like saying a movie made you angry, but not telling why.
