is there a site out there that lets you input a letterboxd profile and then creates a kind of game where you are given two films that profile has seen and then you have to choose which you like more? I need something like this to help me rerate all my films because just staring at the ratings screen is putting me to sleep and I'm not actively thinking about if these films need to change ratings after about 5 minutes. if a site like this doesn't exist, one of you should get on it

I DO NOT KNOW IF THAT IS ACTUALLY THE CASE, BUT FELLINI'S OPERA ARE OVERLY FARCICAL, AND SO MANNERISTIC THAT THEY ARE CLOYING, APART FROM THE FACT THAT HIS LASCIVIOUS VEIN IS DISTASTEFUL IN THE WAY THAT THE DALAI LAMA ATTEMPTING TO TONGUE A KID IS DISTASTEFUL.

There's a strong preference for not only rediscovered female names like Varda and Ackermann due to the "female gaze" discourse, but also Godardian collage/fragmented narratives and liberal dialogues type films.
Tarantino and Noe bask in zoomers' glory exactly due to these reasons.
I can't imagine such viewers having patience for Italian neorealism at all.
Zoomers are also a multimedia audience, when they want to see a film, they want multiple mediums at once and once they get a universally relatable story which is simultaneously expressionist fashion photography and video art from someone like Wong Kar-Wai, Fellini's traditionalism pales in comparison.

Media has entered into a competition and hierarchy of attention spans and Italian neorealism can't catch up in that aspect.

That's precisely what attracts people to Gallo, the young layer of self-reflexivity that is sincere to the point of being vulnerable to the touch and hasn't yet grown old with additional thicker layer of ironic detachment that stems from developed self-awareness. The hostility and aggression of this stage views itself as a protective reaction to the vulnerability and this way feels free from resposibility, giving in to the narcissism of false innocence. The artistic maturation that Gallo experiences as a filmmaker in the film is a mirror of the natural maturation of young adults.

>>
>>200798341
I don't pretend, I just have a taste and opinions based on it. Most arthouse cinema is trash and / or overrated, as are most famous works of art. See, Don Quixote, the Mona Lisa, most of Dali's works, etc.

I genuinely think that everything surrounding Possession online is a psyop and I'm being memed. Like with Fight Club, Inception and all that other shit. Like I'm not being disingenuous, it's a very fucking bad film yet everyone wants me to believe it's some sort of a horror classic

That's up there because it's a decent joke. But in general, top reviews on Letterboxd and similar sites commonly deviate from their average ratings because the few people who don't like it disproportionately bump up the few people who agree with them. 8 1/2 is the 136th highest rated film of all time there.

Anyone familar with Asia Argento? (the daughter of Dario Argento, she's also a filmmaker/actress)

Well anyway, I just read some of her shit and apparently she was caught fucking a 17 years old boy who's an actor (pic related) and a lot of people seem to have an issue with her because she's among the women who accused Weinstein of bad behavior and so people point out the irony because she seem to be a creep as well, at one point she sent an actor who was in a relationship and was a sex addict recovery an unwanted tits pics/vids

anyway, she seem like a wacko, a creep, and of course that's hot as fuck

Asia Argento is also a friend of Gaspar Noe, so go figure, a bunch of sickos.

Oh man that film sucked. People here told me that Trauma, Stendhal Syndrome and Sleepless were Argento's only good films post-Opera but Trauma was so bad I didn't bother with the other two
>>
>>200802617
I was familiar about this years before I checked out Suspiria, Deep Red etc. Bourdain paid off the kid who cucked him so it wouldn’t go public but it did anyways lol. Imagine betraying your own privately-held morals that you spout publicly (“have a negroni. have two”) because your girlfriend fucked up. Everyone realized what a hypocrite he was and it probably led to the spiral that caused his suicide. Asia Argento has a knack for killing her boyfriends, both on and off-screen.

I like Trier, but never could sanction Antichrist's buffoonery.
It's visually ugly, grating pacing-wise and the movies that he made after it just totally blow it out the water
>>
>>200802995
Trauma has some cool looking scenes and I think visually pairs well with Phenomena so he didn't totally lose his mojo yet but yeah it sucks as a whole and Jennifer and Betty are much better protagonists.

Asia is a satanist / left hand path initiate as is Dario and Jodorowsky. Don't take anything she says as truthful, is all lies. She made a pedo film in like 2002, exposition of the method I think they call that technique

Do the psychomagies of Jodorowsky, they are in books. Those are entry level rituals, they consist of stealing, doing depraved sex acts, working with faeces and urine, etc. Later, you will have to eat shit, be a pedo and kill children to advance, and once you start "there's no turning back". Every part of your life will be controled by your handlers 24/7. Seems cool enough, right?

Not really, I had some french classes in Uni and got certified a "basic level" and was given the chance to go up to intermediate level, but I leave that for the future, as I feel that french is pretty easy and I can learn it on my own watching movies and videos. Portuguese is just straight up spanish, so I have a very decent use of the language.

I also had greek and latin classes in college and I got a certified "intermediate level" in Old Greek and "advanced" in latin. The other languages mentioned I've just learned through watching videos of people speaking them. Forgot to mention that I also have a "below basic" but not dogshit level in Old Sanscrit.

It's the least interesting thing one could say about a movie, as it speaks more about the viewer's emotions, than the content or form of the film. Like saying a movie made you angry, but not telling why.
