>>204006007The Two Kings and the Two Labyrinths by Jorge Luis BorgesIt is said by men worthy of belief (though Allah’s knowledge is greater) that in the first days there was a king of the isles of Babylonia who called together his architects and his priests and bade them build him a labyrinth so confused and so subtle that the most prudent men would not venture to enter it, and those who did would lose their way. Most unseemly was the edifice that resulted, for it is the prerogative of God, not man, to strike confusion and inspire wonder. In time there came to the court a king of Arabs, and the king of Babylonia (to muck the simplicity of his guest) bade him enter the labyrinth, where the king of Arabs wandered, humiliated and confused, until the coming of the evening, when he implored God’s aid and found the door. His lips offered no complaint, though he said to the king of Babylonia that in his land he had another labyrinth, and Allah willing, he would see that someday the king of Babylonia made its acquaintance. Then he returned to Arabia with his captains and his wardens and he wreaked such havoc upon kingdoms of Babylonia, and with such great blessing by fortune, that he brought low his castles, crushed his people, and took the king of Babylonia himself captive. He tied him atop a swift-footed camel and led him into the desert. Three days they rode, and then he said to him, “O king of time and substance and cipher of the century! In Babylonia didst thou attempt to make me lose my way in a labyrinth of brass with many stairways, doors, and walls; now the Powerful One has seen fit to allow me to show thee mine, which has no stairways to climb, nor walls to impede thy passage.”Then he untied the bonds of the king of Babylonia and abandoned him in the middle of the desert, where he died of hunger and thirst. Glory to him who does not die.

>>204006007They say that the cause for awful taste in cinema is a disease called Kolopenia, which means "severe lack of Kolobos", and the only treatment for it is Koloplasty, a surgical operation in which a doctor inserts a Kolobos dvd into the patients brain in order to give him his taste in cinema back. Though almost no doctors know how to do this, it's incredibly rare and expensive, thus, if you have bad taste, there is pretty much no cure besides coping while watching the latest A24 slop and smoking dude weed to take the pain away.

>>204007886>What else did you order?A movie called Taxi Hunter which I know nothing about, The Inspector Wears Skirts which I bought because I love Cynthia Rothrock (getting the two movies together was also part of a deal), and the Henry 4K and an early Jackie Chan movie called To Kill With Intrigue on 4K (also a deal to buy them together). Henry was the only horror movie. It ended up being about $80 total, which I really didn't want to spend right now, but fuck it, I'm sure I'll at least enjoy them all.My secondary regret is that I picked To Kill With Intrigue out of nowhere, which probably won't be that great, instead of Demons 2 which I saw was an option afterwards and that I already know I like

>>204008683There's that probably. And Halle looks a bit haggard and unkempt in it
Just watched 31.It makes me laugh how much this movie made "people" seethe, especially the ending where they made an assumption just to get assmad over it.Also kudos to Rob Zombie for casting two black men for the specific purpose of having them both die first (if you don't count the driver and the random whores). He really needs to stop recasting the exact same people over and over though.
>>204008684It would be interesting showing a proper version rather than a camrip/telesync
>>204008715I liked it. It makes people mad but RZ was working with progressively smaller budgets to avoid having to do a hollywood film again.
>>204008745I liked it too.A tiny hispanic man LARPing as an actual nazi was pretty kino. Also, as many said, Richard Brake had a stellar performance. The head scratcher for me, was that bit that Schizo-head said before getting offed, about how they were being forced to do this and were in the same boat as the contestants. Yet the three hosts clearly state that no one has ever won the game before, and also Doom-head is a hired killer, so you would think the other heads are too, right? And in the opening scene, it is implied that the preacher's family is captured by Schizohead, Psycho-head, and Doom-head, if not others. Was that part of a previous game? Why did they call in Doom-head if Schizo-head and Pyscho-head had the situation handled, whereas in this game they only called new heads in when the others died?
I'm in a found footage mood, should I watch V/H/S/99 or The Visit by Shyamalan?

alright Bloodlust was an insanely good looking anime. personally I like the first one more just because of the story, but this did have a better ending.>This film accidentally mistranslated the word "dhampir" to "dunpeal" in the English language. jfc what a distracting fuck up.also, what does D even gonna do with 20 million dollars. coke and hoes I guess.
>>204009309I'm going to watch all 15 of the Puppet Master films. starting tomorrow, have only seen the original but I remember loving it.
>>204006831From the time I was a little kid, I was always drawn to the horror section at my local video rental shop. The covers of the VHS tapes were so enticing, and I couldn't wait until I was old enough to watch them. When I turned 13, my parents started letting me rent the R rated horror films - and after that, it's all I wanted to watch. The first one I rented was Scream, which is funny because it was way more fucked up than any slasher at the time.I also have great memories of watching horror films on TV, especially during the Halloween marathons. One of the greatest tv horror experiences was watching the original House on Haunted Hill on TCM when I was around 9yo - the scene in the gif nearly made me shit my pants.
>>204009360Keep us updated. I'd be impressed if you made it even six movies in.

>>204009443That "Rory" SCP shit at the beginning is boring. The wrapper story of the special water at the lake was just dumb and wanted an excuse to revel in the deaths of white nuclear families. The actual anthology stories were pretty decent though.
>>204009494I’m very forgiving with vhs but I couldn’t even finish 99 or 94. I get them confused too. One of them was particularly worse than the other. 85 at least felt different and sort of a return to form for the series. I hope the new one is good. Idk if there are reviews for it yet

>>204011188>How many things do you subvert a day?17, at the very leastMy brother, Moshi, takes care of the cock mutilation.
Horror films about a Villain who was banned from 109 countries yet still doesn't understand he's doing something wrong? This would be a good concept for a horror kino
>>204011230Not everyone who calls out your retardation is a jew, schizo.
Which comfy 70s horror or giallo do I want to watch anons?
chat is this true?
>>204011336The Brood

>>204011374Sorry anon, Cronenberg anon >>204011361 got there first
>>204011401hey that's me. I enjoyed it a lot, comfy pace and is now my favourite of his films.
>>204011401Its ok, I'll happily endorse his rec. It's a great film.
>>204011427>>204011435it got a criterion release lmao wtf. it's a very comfy movie, any movie with snow suits is comfy
>>204011353don't mind him, he got buck broken by a previous thread on this board that was discussing the need for the heros journey, he still couldn't argue anything else than le jooz
May be too slow for some, but I think that overall it was a decent film. Any other horror films about schizophrenia?
>>204006881imagine his white clown cock
>>204011460I feel like answering that would ruin the plot of any answer
>>204011353I don't want to talk about jews in a fucking horror thread on tv, because unlike you they don't live rent free in my head. If you are so eager to talk about them go do it somewhere else>>204011459Delusional nigger, I only post on /hor/ threads so I can avoid having to deal with mentally ill people like you.

Keeping /hor/ alive during its slow period.
Rec me some good obscure asian horrors

>>204012196still kino
>>204012013Surprisingly overlooked Korean horror. The poster and title do not do it justice.
>>204012315nta but i will watch this
>>204012196Holy shit does this guy have to recap the ENTIRE movie, scene by scene?
>>204012013All in Dim Cold Night if you want to see a classical chinese ghost story. The full subbed film is on youtube
OK I watched the full video and I can see the utility in what he does. It's just not for me. There's no real meat to his analysis aside from the occasional jabs he makes during his recap. Just feels a bit thin. But it's a product, I guess.
>>204012527>>204013003Almost all “review” videos nowadays are just 30 minute scene by scene recaps of the movie with commentary sprinkled throughout. I guess creators just assume nobody actually watches the movies first before watching their reviews
>>204006007
>>204012196I’m not watching some youtuber’s opinion video but that’s not accurate to Longlegs at all. I’m not sure and don’t care what some retard thinks they were promised but the prerelease information about the movie doesn’t say anything about the actual plot or core elements like that the protagonist is psychic
>>204013700you seriously expect me to read all that
>>204005677The Evil Dead
>>204013714How would you
>>204007305>PoltergeistI always think of Poultrygeist when that movie comes up.
Noticed something silly. If your horror movie takes place on a roadside hotel/motel/inn, there's a 9/10 chance someone will go outside to fetch some ice out of the ice machine.
>>204013804How would I what?I'm not going through that shit blurry picture, for 1.5 mb of space you should have uploaded a clear picture you stupid sack of shit.
>>204010665Cause the puppets needed the juice to be alive and Toulon was using it on the women instead. Charles Band didn't give a fuck about continuity though. This old guy acts nothing like all other Toulons for example, it should've been a different character. And the sequel literally contradicts his motive. When he presents himself he says he's Eric Channi, it should've been kept that way, as some old rival of Toulon.
>>204014955I almost want to make an ex-girlfriend a puppet. I'll give her more juice than she can stand if you know what I mean.
I'm watching terrifier 2 now and the movie has this ugly ass orange/teal filter I can't stand. Was this done ironically or something ? It looks ugly as shit
>>204015102It’s just badly made by someone who thinks 00s shot on digital horror was peak
>>204015102I've noticed that kind of annoying stuff too, maybe it's just plain cheap hollywood or asian stuff. I've found that I can change the settings on my tv to lower the filter settings so there's less orange/teal.
>>204014474If there's free ice, there's a 10/10 chance I'm taking all of it
>>204008684don't, the telesync fucks up the colors in the dark scenes, you can barely see anything
>>204014721I was pointing out that the picture was too blurry to read. “How would you” meant “how would you read this if you even wanted to”You should be embarrassed of this post.
>>204015285That was me posting that it was blurry bullshit and I wouldn't have posted shit like that in the first place.Maybe you're mixing up posts?
>>204006831>>204007453>>204007501>>204007469I was terrified as a kid of chucky, the rl stine doll, the braindead zombie baby and the japanese ghosts of ringu and ju on, but I thought Freddy Krueger, alien, vampires and Jason were more cool than scary, I always liked dinosaurs so for me those were kind of the same.Possessed dolls or child ghosts however scared the shit out of me. It made me sleep with the lights on or even with my mom, wich pissed off my dad cause then he had to go to the sofa. But then at 12 I suddenly gained interest in talking about it, cause I realized I was too old to be afraid I guess, the trailer of the grudge 2 was probably the last one that scared me enough not to sleep. So I started watching other horror movies with my friends like one missed call and saw, and my cousins explained me some scenes of braindead and one of my best friends narrated me child's play and told me that if I saw it then it would be less scary than what I imagine it. So I did, I binged all chuckys, braindead, ringus, ju on, Friday, Elm Street etc and became a fan ever since. Personally I like horror that have fantasy elements, I don't like true crime or things based on real life murders.>>204007356Such a cute monster
>>204007469>>204007501I remember premutos, child's play 2, the kindred/progeny. Something about a monster inside a baby bottle was especially terrifying to me. And if we talk about music then the exorcist theme for sure, it made me cover my ears and layako broken sounds was the scariest sound to me.
>>204015355I saw that chucky stuff when staying at a grandparent's house when I was a little kid and was cracking up laughing during the whole movie. To me that was more a comedy than a horror movie.
>>204012196This guy is literally doing the kind of videos that Longlegs NPCs love, funny how they're seething at this one.
>>204015459The first ones have zero comedic moments you tryhard loony, go be a tough guy somewhere else.>dude I le laughed at the bloodKys nigger
Folks should check out "It's Alive" and the sequel. Some mutant baby thing is going around in LA killing people.
Here are a couple of spooky ones:WillardBen"The rats will have their revenge"
If the 1970s in horror films has taught me anything, carry your own gas, you cannot trust that station
>>204015537Kek, i always wind up watching It's Alive! the one with the cave monster eating people in the backwoods
>>204015831Maybe that's some remake, this is the 1974 one and it's hiding in Los Angeles sewer tunnels, it's meant to be horror but was hilarious."The Davises are expecting a baby, which turns out to be a monster with a nasty habit of killing people whenever it is scared. And it is easily scared."
>>204010586Student Bodies.
>>204015931The one they're talking about is from 1969.There's also a 3 of the killer baby ones.
>>204008684>>204010557>>204005263>wants literal popcorn flicks>is showing pretentious pleb filters do you even like horror or trying to get art-ho pussy?
Mr vampire iii is very underrated in my opinion
300th for "The Substance is the greatest horror movie of 2024"
>>204015931Whats hilarious about that?
>>204016165It's just my goofy sense of humor, smoke a joint and you might also see the humor. I've been to some movies in theatres where stuff was supposed to be horrifying and a friend and I were cracking up laughing at the hollywood bullshit. I don't know that can't deny that california is full of shit and the twats should go around wering sketchers and vans.
>>204010671Only S02 which is the most horror out of them all, but I guess S06 as well, and S09 if you like campy 80s horror shitEverything else is more akin to a dramatic soap opera with some pints of blood every now and then
>>204016492Anything that needs seasons to spend budget money is boring bullshit.
>>204016132for the record I'd go with a mix of classics like TCM and B&BL giallo, crowd pleasers like zombie and anthology and one step above entry level like Phenomena>Suspiria. Maybe Suspiria has more pull for college freshmen but it feels real played out now the last couple yearsThe BlobPhenomena PopcornBlood and Black LaceTexas Chainsaw MassacreNight of the Living Dead 1990 remakean anthology film (Creepshow, Necronomicon, Trick 'r Treat)

Redpill me on the Amityville franchise, wich ones are good? I saw just half an hour of the first one but went to sleep cause I was tired. The women was distractinglly beautiful.
>>204016658Idk what you mean but i'd say it's just nobody's actually going down route 66 in the 1970s thinking >Boy I sure wish I could spend an extra 4 hours in New Mexico in exchange for legit restaurant signs
>>204016705Unless you have of a bunch of kids to please, who in their right mind would go to a theatre these days?
>>204006958The one on the right was just happy to be there. Also, great price considering the experience and all the memories it would create. Although I read it through the school library :)
>>204016524>new bad old goodidk if 19 year old hipster faggots and the cinematically illiterate are going to turn out for that. there's not a reverent curiosity about the canon, they're totally deracinated by streaming and mobile video to the present moment or only interested and the queer and peculiar
