SHARE YOUR HORROR WISHLIST!!!

> We get some more horror & slasher films set near the sea/on ships, make use of moody harbors, docks & foggy nights. A undead Sea Captain slasher would be cool.

> We get more mostly serious toned theatrically released killer animal films like The Shallows & Crawl. Ideally ones with oversized Scorpions and Octopuses. Remake of Tentacles (1977)?
> Crawl 2 is on par with the first.

> Antje Traue is cast as The Bride of Frankenstein, if that film in Universal's Dark Universe moves forward.

> If the Dark Universe moves forward, Dracula Untold is reinstated into canon. I want more of Luke Evan's take on the character.

> If Underworld 6 happens it takes a break from the cycle of the Vamp/Wolf war and introduces some new mythology & antagonist. Ideally Selene goes up against a clan of Gillmen invading & infecting small sea side towns. Play up the mystery & mood. Gillmen are mainly done through practical effects. Maybe have Selene team up with a (female?) Werewolf against them?

> More Pumpkinhead movies.

> Cabin in the Woods anthology series with each episode (maybe every 2 episodes) being a different cast facing a different monster. Some arcs will focus on the folks in the Cabin & some will focus on the staff in the base dealing with capturing monsters out in the wild or having to deal with them getting loose.

> A B&W tribute movie to 1950s monster movies is that actually is fairly serious & well budgeted. Builds up mystery & suspense for the 1st 3rd.

> Galaxy of Terror prequel about Captain Trantor surviving the massacre of the Hesperus crew by aliens 25 years before.

Trivia:
The Green Inferno:

When Eli Roth and his crew approached villagers to be extras in the film, he soon realized that they had never seen a movie and had no concept of what one was. To demonstrate what a movie was, Eli brought a TV and a copy of Cannibal Holocaust (1980) and had a screening for everyone. The villagers loved it and thought it was a comedy. They gladly acted in the film.

Eli Roth disclosed that the tribe offered a two-year-old child to the production designer as a "thank you" for including them in the film. The production designer politely declined the offer.

Eli Roth would only audition actors who agreed to be vaccinated for yellow fever and to film deep in the Amazonian jungle with no bathrooms, surrounded by tarantulas, snakes and poisonous frogs that could kill you on contact. After filming was completed, the cast and crew were treated for parasites.

Out of all the villagers who signed up to be in the film some of them ended up working as crew as well.

Eli Roth said that the film released to theaters is the original film he created. The MPAA did not request any scenes be cut in order to obtain an R-rating.

Lorenza Izzo nearly drowned while filming the escape attempt sequence, where her character runs into the river near the village and is pushed downstream before being recaptured. It wasn't until one of the crew realized that her screams for help were real, where she was then rescued. Some of the footage was kept in the film.

i love the moving sets in nu hellraiser, and the box itself. this movie did so many things right even if it botched other things, like all the casting besides the main chick and some of the villains. plus this dumb junkie accidentallies her way into what took a billionaire probably years of his life to set up and i appreciate that irony.

HALLOWEEN

> We get more stand alone Halloween comics like Nightdance. Or maybe some mini series that each follow up different continuities in the franchise...
>> Show Myers & the cult continuing to hunt Jamie's baby after 6.
>> Myers going after Laurie's son after H20
>> Adapt the unfilmed plot for Rob Zombie's Halloween 3.
>> Adapt the script for Halloween Returns that was planned before the 2018 movie pitch.

> The earlier scripts for Halloween 4 are released online, I wanna see how Myers was defeated in the version of the script that had Sheriff Meeker fight Myers to the death in his basement resulting in his house burning down.

> The cut footage of the police station massacre & Meeker's death in H5 are found & released despite their absence in the recent Blu-Ray that had a resorted version of the Dr Death opening (we know it was filmed because we have a bts pic of meeker getting shot)

> The full Face of Michael Myers short film is made despite the original kickstarter failing.

OTHER SLASHERS

> They don't reboot Texas Chainsaw Massacre again, either drop it long term or do a direct sequel to 2022.

> The reboot/sequel to Madman (81) does not have a feminist bent to it despite the original film's producer claiming he plans to give it such (ignoring how great & strong of a final girl Gaylen Ross was in the original)

> Some more obscure non franchise slasher films get sequels/reboots with new stories. I would like to see something done with The Slayer or Superstition (both from 1982)

> A new serious toned slasher with a Samurai killer.

> Scream 7 Onward - Sidney is not killed off screen or turned into a killer. Maybe have the film take place in snowy weather & invert Ghost Face's colors so he will blend in with the environment.

> The upcoming I know what you did last summer sequel is on par with Halloween (18) & Scream 5-6.
> It does not ignore I Still Know.
> Be it Ben Willis or not the iconic slicker & hook killer design returns in the film.
> Jennifer Love Hewitt nudity in it.
> Grace Caroline Currey Fulton is the replacement lead in it after Camila Mendes left the project.

> The Mutilator 2 has notable nudity.

> We get Zodiac (07) / From Hell / The Town that Dreaded Sundown style slasher/murder mystery movies about the real life Axeman of New Orleans & the Hinterkaifeck farm massacre.

I get that it's the 1st of October so people are busy starting to go down their lists, but honestly surprised only one person has mentioned Strange Darling today. I went through a whole range of feelings about this movie while watching it but, having just finished it, the assessment is that it's masterful. Masterful as in really high level film making. I'm saying this having hated both the main characters and feeling viscerally cringe while listening to their dialogue practically the entire film. There's a palpable Quentin Tarantino essence to this movie. There's endless layers of meta that unfold and peel away every fucking ten minutes in this movie. The acting across the board is fucking phenomenal. It was filmed entirely on 35mm film and it fucking shows in a wholly authentic, non-digital filter way. Giovanni Ribisi was the fucking DP, what the fuck?

This is the second hard, hard, hard recommendation from me in as many days. Ironically enough, Strange Darling and New Life both have two consecutively sequenced scenes that are near identical to each other. Weird coincidence but worth mentioning.

I felt the opposite. The first one has a low-budget charm to it and delivers in that lane as a competent enough "bad movie," and then with the second one the director got a bigger budget but didn't become any better of a director so he ended up making an embarrassing, overly long pile of dogshit that became too convoluted and lost sight of the few things the first movie had going for it

>>
I'm a big fan of Terrifier 1's tone
>>
>>204058162
I watched it, it's a pretty fun goofy slasher. Same vein as say a Freddy movie or (I can only assume) a Scary Movie movie
You kinda have to go in being open to it being silly and pretty badly made

Terrifier 2 entered Nightmare on Elm Street territory, which I didn't care for.

>The first one has a low-budget charm to it and delivers in that lane as a competent enough "bad movie,"
Fucking this, the first one accepts that it is a cheesy slayer, so instead of having bad plot it choses to be nothing more than a succession of scenes where Art does gory and wacky shit. The second one attempts to be a more conventional horror flick, but ends up being unintentionally bad, and not in a funny way.
>>
Starting off the month with Creepshow.

So we have had yet another one of these tasteless torture porn films unleashed upon us, and as usual it offers ZERO entertainment unless your into snuff films. I'm a lover of horror movies as long as they're done right and is actual art. These films have NONE of that! Damien(appropriately named by his mother!) isn't interested in telling a decent story, or entertaining us with thrills or ACTUAL SCARES, he is just interested in coming up with new ways to mutilate women. As another reviewer pointed out, all these Terrible films offer is new ways to mutilate and violate women's bodies in the most horrific ways! Seriously how do some people find this rubbish entertaining??! It really is a sad day for film and art when sad people flock to praise these TRASH films! Damien Leone is clearly a 12 year old trapped in a man's body as all he does is try to come up with more depraved ways of mutilating the human body, ESPECIALLY if your a female! Got a few mummy or women issues do we Damien? Cos something had to happen to make you take such pleasure in putting such grotesque films out there. You are not talented, you are not creative. You are just a guy pleasing the depraved people who get off on watching disgusting suffering of others, that's NOT entertainment to me. For your next film maybe try and make an actual DECENT STORY that is worth people's time in watching, but knowing this one trick director he'll probably just keep repeating himself until people stop paying money to see his trash films. Oh what a surprise, Terrifier 4 has just been announced LMAO!!! Oooh I wonder what originality the 4th film will offer! What a pathetic joke on all of us. Anyway, I know this review isn't exactly going to change anyone's minds over these awful films but I had to write it in the hope that some people will realise finally that these films are just a big kids way of trying to be as despicable as he possibly can because some depraved people seem to enjoy this rubbish.

The regular pumpkin beers (Night Owl and Great Pumpkin) are pretty good. The coffee one, I don't like any kind of coffee beer, and the dark chocolate one always tastes like shit at first and I pour out the first bottle and then put the other 2 in the pantry and after they've aged for a while they start tasting pretty good. I drank my last aged one a few months back when I watched Late Night with the Devil

The GOAT (as far as generally available around the country) is St. Arnold pumpkinator though. Stouts make for the best pumpkin beers.

What specifically? The underling doctor had a bad trip and decided he could no longer fake-it-till-you-make-it, so he went crazy and tried to kill the protag. But he was also a bald loser, so he died like a lamewad, for being gay. Oh also commentary on treatment centers and hippie dippie new-age medicine. Oh also the directors weirdo buddies. Solid movie, desu.
What i'd REAAALLY (fr) like in a psych ward horror movie would be like a One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest but all trippy. Maybe like a, Suspira meets One Flew. Sounds dope, right?

the 90s was so much fun. there was a degree of rock and roll carried over from the 80s that kept giving until the second clinton administration. the tales from the crypt series was one of the last time so many filmmakers and special effects people could hone their craft and get playful with the genre. now it's all arthouse fare or bust.

Day 1: Vampire Circus
Liked it. A quarantined German town is visited by a travelling circus of gypsy vampires.
Normally 70s stuff tends to bore me, but this one kept my interest the whole time. Plot moves along
at a good clip, and the frequent graphic nudity also helps a lot (There's one early scene you really won't believe)
However, the special effects are transparently shitty and the pacing goes to hell in the last 20 minutes.
That aside, it's a pretty solidly constructed film that applies the classic "Vampire + some other shit" formula about as well as any.
Would recommend.

First, the joke was zoomers hit the wall at 22. Then eventually, a lot of zoomer actresses turn 22 and actually hit the wall. So idk. Nothing against any of the actresses, just being objective. Gen Z is even more fucked. Our food supply is fucked.
