sure but its the other thing too. like starry eyes is also about a sexy ingenue with big milkers ruining her friends day to join a trendy vampire cult. i like the subtext, i love the straightforward narrative.

Society doesn’t put girls into any role. In fact, no one even expects anything from them. There is literally no standard for girls cause they considered deep and there is no bottom to how low they can go.
Girls in the inudusty are constantly reminded that their looks is their value yet most of them cannot even be bothered to maintain their looks and hit the wall hard at 22.

TCM2 is entertaining and is still directed by Tobe Hooper. It's a lot goofier though, not the kind of tense and shocking film the first movie is. It's still worth seeing if you just want something fun and not too serious

As he heads off to a party, he sees an injured woman on the side of the road and decides to help her, but when she gets in his car, she suddenly smashes her own head against the dashboard, bleeding out until she dies. Just finished Dagon. Kino of the highest order. My only complaint is the protagonists. I'd have preferred a more hard boiled or world weary main character, but holy shit this is the closest to an actual lovecraft story I've seen on the screen. Everything else goes all campy or only has tangential references to the material. Anyway, it goes without saying that this was way better than Suspiria. It's put me in a good mood and I might even go for a double feature of American Werewolf. Also, Dagonfu.

Fucking don't. I'm still angry that /hor/ memed me into watching it last year. I don't always hate japcrap but that flick in particular is too much of a clown show to enjoy, while still somehow having slow ass pacing and too much inane meandering to even enjoy as a novelty. I can only conclude that the shilling is the effort of Asian Fetishists.

I say this with the utmost respect for the people of Israel but Stuart Gordon's innate Jewish vulgarity places him thoroughly at odds with the works of Lovecraft.

jesus christ i hate how they "americanized" this movie. first of all, lettering the family including the frog kid get away in the end, then turning act 3 into a fucking home invasion movie, and also not wanting to be racist so instead of the syrian guy being the accomplice it's fucking gavin o'herlihy from round the bend . and the husband was as big a cuck as both husband and wife in the original combind. pathetic fucking character, somehow even more pathetic than in the original when [spoiler[the couple just stand there and get stoned to death because muh symbolism. i did like act 2 better and the discovery and build up to act 3. i preferred the original's more straightforward unwavering sadism, even though i didn't like it when i first saw it. but compared to this mickey mouse version, it's a better movie.

mcavoy was the shit though. based mcavoy.

>>204086841
>>204086858
i hated it too, the ending pissed me off. i can't stand characters who don't fight back. sadistic garbage. but i'm torn because that made me feel something whereas the remake's ending was lame and a poorly done version of that trope, and i was still subjected to a thoroughly useless and cucked husband character.

mcavoy and everything between the basement scene and the husband jumping into the lake were good. everything else sucked. i enjoyed the unsettling nature of the couple in the original, ignoring mcavoy's performance.

haven't seen the remake, but the first 3/4 of the original was literally just a family drama. A boring family drama that women would watch.
it should not surprise you that the director doesn't like horror, and only made it into a horror when he realized a drama wouldn't sell.

This was pretty good for what it was. Can't quite call it a parody because it had it's own original story and didn't randomly throw in references to recent popular horror movies. But the concept felt like it was a diet version of a mix between Saw and Scream, just not quite a parody of either of those concepts. Surprisingly, the characters were pretty well developed and the acting was decent. One of the things black american culture does well is their ability to make absolutely ruthless jokes at other people's expense. And for some reason, they bring it to a whole other level when its their fellow black american whose expense it is at. This movie is riddled with references to black culture, as expected, but the self-criticism is extremely tasteful and the joke writing that backs it up is mostly very good. The self-flagellation is done very well in this movie and it, unexpectedly, does a pretty competent job of introducing the valid, universal theme of the breakdown of identity when exposed to sunlight. And the bi-racial chick is an absolute smoke show.
>>

Watched Nightmare On Elm Street yesterday before bed. Still the best one, Tina's death scene and corpse walking through the school hall then being dragged still hits.

Watched Season of the Witch 1972 this morning. Boring movie. I recommend a skip for sure unless you're a feminist.

Watched Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama this afternoon. Great movie. Girls in panties being paddled, whip creamed, showering nude, dolled up in lingerie, going topless and other kinky hijinks amok. Linea Quigley still hot even though she is 30 going on 40. One of the best horror comedies for gooners like me.

Just finished The Legend of Hell House. One of my favorite haunted house movies of all time. Both actresses in this are hot. A must watch for October.

First movie of the month was Universal's 1931 Frankenstein. Not sure if I jump into sequel movies or other classic monster movies. I also watched Dracula a few months ago

No. 1979 version is one of the best vampire movies ever.

I won't defend the 2004 version though.
