Ishirō Honda directed Yeti movie, original cut has never been released by Toho apparently do to offensive Burakumin presentation in the film. Just slap a god damn trigger warning before the film & bloody release it. I wanna see how it compares to Hammer's fantastic The Abominable Snowman.

> Iced (1988)
Snowy slasher with the original Wednesday Adams full frontal nude.

> La Muerte Del Chacal / The Death of the Jackal (1983)
Apparently great Mexican slasher - https://a-slash-above.com/2015/11/07/la-muerte-del-chacal-review-1983/

> Lifeform / Invader (1996)
Very cool alien design, crap ending.

> Night Creature (1978)
Donald Pleasence playing Ahab/Quint against a killer Panther.

> Night of the Blood Beast (1958)
First half effectively prefigures Alien/The Thing parasite body horror, 2nd half tragically sucks.

> Project - Metal Beast (1995)
Unique sci-fi metal skinned werewolf movie.

> The Deathhead Virgin (1974)
Nautical ghost story with a masked nude aquatic female slasher.

> The Intruder Within (1981)
Monster on a oil rig film with a solid creature design that sadly doesn't get enough screen time.

> The Keep (1983) - Original 210 minute cut!

Watched Vivarium last night. I liked it a lot, that kid was a proper little freak that I'd have bashed his head in with a spade. I like that they set it up for Jemma to cave in to her motherly instincts seeng as she worked with children. Proper unsettling vibes from the alien dudes, but their personalities would perfectly suit the kinds of people that hold up Suspiria as a good film, the contrarian "high IQ" kissless virgin types.

>As the film was being finished up, producer Roger Corman felt that the picture needed more sex, nudity and monster shots throughout, so he ordered scenes shot that showed the humanoids attacking and ripping the clothes off of other nubile young women. Director Barbara Peeters, who was a feminist who hated that idea, refused to shoot the scenes. Corman said he'd hire a second director and get her feedback before using the new footage. She agreed to that. But Corman ended up never showing the new footage to her or the cast and other crew. They didn't see them until the preview of the film. Peeters was furious, protesting that they were inserted purely to show gratuitous nudity. Corman also edited out many of the scenes dealing with the plot and character development in order to make room for the nudity and more creature scenes. Peeters complained that it was no longer the film she made and wanted her name taken off. Corman said he'd do that but only if she paid the expense of redoing the credits. She wouldn't, so her name stayed on the project. Many years later, Peeters ended up watching the film on cable and admitted it actually ended up being "a fun little movie."

ok finished Puppet Master II and had to hunt out this anon (>>204010665) because I had the exact same question. why the fuck are they killing people? you'd think a killer puppet film would explain that.
For the first film I imagined that they were set up with some kind of killer instinct when they were put into the trunk and hidden originally, so that if the nazis found them they'd kill them so they didn't get Toulons secret. But why would they kill Toulon? Didn't recognize him in his new body maybe...

Puppet Master franchise is incredibly disappointing. The first movie is kinda slow but interesting but the sequels completely get rid of the horror element and turn the puppets into anti-heroes for awhile and that's not the kind of films I want to watch.

Sounds like our resident spammer known as the Pissman. He’s been obsessed with X for ages and it makes some anons seethe. I don’t blame them either, fuck that guy spamming his weird fantasies here day in and day out. Personally, I couldn’t care less about X as I never plan on watching it anyways.
>Suspiria was post-modernist atomised shite.
This is actually true for the 2018 remake. It’s not irredeemable garbage yet it doesn’t do a single thing better than the original. It simply pales in comparison and that seems to be the general /hor/ consensus.

Realized that my initial wrong perception of Suspiria being some "slowburn" artsy movie that I had before I actually watched it was influenced by people talking about the remake which had come out like a year prior.

Funnily enough if they’d been written as a tranny with no actual relevance to the plot I’d have accepted it as “fair enough. 2024, lol” but as it stands, I agree. He/she/they/zim/zer just didn’t work. The American/German dichotomy was wacky too. Men == bad definitely tiresome but I didn’t mind the sorority thing even if, conceptually, it’s preposterous. A redraft might have improved the thing no end.

As it was, TWD actually managed to make zombies boring by oversaturating them.
>>
>>204069255
>Way too much human banter taking away the focus of the zombies
That was always the point of TWD though. Kirkman didn't like how zombie media ended after the outbreak and "escape." He wanted to write about the recovery, too.
But he didn't do it well. The comics started repeating itself through every arc and the tv show should have ended ages ago

The best thing a zombie flick can do is differentiate itself by setting. Time/place has a big impact on how to deal with them, but all too often it’ll just be a modern American setting in which the odds are well known and played out.

the original suspiria is sensory overload in the best way. the colors, la musica, pablos new false teeth.

the new suspiria is trash. the discordant music isnt unsettling, its noise. the stunt casting is unnecessary and insists on itself (sorry tilda). the ending is too kitchen sink. waste of a setting. the pretzel scene is cool the first watch and focusing on choreography is neat, but thats it.

>partial availability
What does that mean? Also that explains why sometimes I’ll try to download something with 500 seeders and it will say “connecting to peers” forever
>>
>>204079206
It started downloaded when I opened it, you in China or something?

I watched this last night and it frustrated the fuck out of me. I need more J-Horror to watch, it always so comfy.

Mononoke is kino. So glad I was able to catch the World Premiere in Montreal this summer. Can't wait for the next two films.

Word of warning, watch the tv shows before the movie. It's great for fans but going in blind can be disorienting.

It means that there isn't someone uploading that has the complete file. There might be a bunch of leechers stuck at say 76.4% so the availability of the torrent will be stuck at 76.4% until a seeder with 100% of the file comes along to seed the remaining percentage.

>>204079466
Oh ok I figured that is what you probably meant but I wasn’t sure

Tbf I didn't give it long as I got a version I'm okay with.

Godzilla 1954, Rodan, Godzilla vs Hedorah, Terror of Mechagodzilla, etc. definitely have horror elements, but Toho had a reputation as a wholesome movie studio, and never went all-in on making Western-style horror movies until their vampire trilogy. Godzilla vs Biollante also couldn't be a horror movie due to the newer Eirin age rating system implemented in the late 70's as the Japanese equivalent to the MPAA age ratings (they had to make Godzilla's blood green or yellow to keep it kid-friendly, for example).
>>204069236
I agree but Biollante is a close second, and is the most technically impressive Godzilla movie of the 80's-90's Heisei series.

J-Horror is very hit and miss.
They used to make a lot of good horror movies, but they've really fallen off lately.
