If I'm being honest, Sam Raimi is a bit of a hack when it comes to horror outside of Evil Dead. I tried sitting through Drag Me to Hell and it was fucking terrible. It wasn't funny or scary, the CG was bad, and the movie itself is quite literally just a ripoff of the 1957 film, Curse of the Demon which was a great horror movie.

I watched like a handful of Dracula adaptations last year, maybe more, and found that every single one of them is the exact same story told pretty much the exact same way, and it turns out I don't really like that story. I find it very boring actually. And you're right, before I turned Nosferatu off earlier tonight it struck me that Fright Night is very similar. Definitely directly inspired by Dracula but so much more fun. I find just about everything about the original story tedious. Out of the "straight" adaptations I watched Dead and Loving It is the only one I genuinely liked, and it's not that straight of an adaptation.
