>>204869116nudity isnt porn, if you do think that nudity equates pornography, something is wrong with YOU not with us.
>Like the vibes and settings of good horror movies>Incredibly squeamish when it comes to goreHow do I deal with this? I love movies like The Shining and The Blair Witch Project because of how well they do a foreboding atmosphere in isolated places. But I hate seeing or thinking about graphic disembowelment or truly awful physical suffering, particularly if it's done with a relatively realistic tone instead of over the top or comedic.
>>204869338Watch asian movies.
>>204869338Maybe it would help to see how the sausage is made? Find some behind the scenes type stuff with special effects work on Youtube (look into Tom Savini and Stephen Kostanski). >>204869389I don't think this is good advice
I prefer nudity to gore honestly I don't mind gore, and I love slashers, but I absolutely hate shit like Terrifier or Guinea Pig where the entire plot is just "DUDE GORE LMAO".Every modern slasher seems to be more concerned with making the most long and mean-spirited gore scenes possible instead of just making a fun film. Remember when slasher kills where like 10 seconds? Now every kill is like 10 minutes lmao. But showing a heckin' booba!? NOOOOOOO HOW AWFUL AND PROBLEMATIC! 70s grindhouse sloppa should have stayed dead, but for some reason the 2000s just had to make it popular again, and now it still is. Even some A24 slowburn slop films have graphic gore in them.
>>204869338Watch korean horrors, they are usually pretty light on gore and more about foreboding atmosphere and deteriorating mental states. Wailing is some good shit to start you over.

>>204872551Mario Bava and Sergio Leone are the most important and most influential European directors of all time in any genre.Lamberto is a talented guy who did several good movies.
Just watched Premutos for the first time. With a subtitle like Fallen Angel, I thought it was going to be a german expressionist or psychological horror film.Needless to say, I haven't laughed so hard with a movie in all of 2024.
I enjoyed this a lot, the first 5 minutes suck you right in.Halloween night, police sirens running amuck, blue streets doused in neon, a city block of Halloween mask wearing people-
>>204872809Sounds interesting

>>204872933>From the Producer of The Purge and Get Out
>>204872555ChyekdI started watching that and it was weirdly disturbing. The mom is a good actress and an interesting character.
>>204872995I thought he looked better this time, wasn't really a fan of the first one
>>204872995I lost interest when I found out it was all in her head.
>>204872350Nope. You already watched the best gothic horror of all time.Nothing can't top it.

Piranha II: The Spawning is tits kino thus I will be saving this mkv.
kek, I didn't expect a Cube reference in anime
>>204869990Wait I just saw this reply, what meme?
Watched Ring for the first time. Saw the remake back around the time it came out and definitely didn't remember that one being so procedural (in a good way). The ghost stuff is actually the weakest element (Halloween costume level costuming for her in the big reveal at the end) but I was all in for the shit where they're pouring over newspaper clippings and going through the video frame by frame on that gorgeous editing machine. A really fun investigation movie which I wasn't expecting at all going in.Any of the sequels worth a shot?
any horror kino for this feeling?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzWds5gWS6c
>>204873151We need more horror movies where the protagonist is a massive fuckhead who stomps all over normies' lives. Huluraiser did that but I mean with a fun protagonist.
>>204872995>Funky Town starts playing
>>204873020So you lost interest 2 minutes before the end of the movie...?
>>204873123this>>204873260no think it was with the sister
is it good?
>>204873273Oh lol I thought you were thinking my pic was a meme and I was gonna say that IS me
>>204857806It's really good. Stars Linda Hayden from Taste The Blood of Dracula. She does full frontal nude in this. Patrick Wymark from Witchfinder General and Barry Andrews from Dracula Has Risen From The Grave. If you like Hammer flicks, then I highly rec it.>>204858985Thanks for these.
>>204873120First season of that show is great, second season takes a big hit, but still funny. Eucliwood Hellscythe was best girl.
what's your pitch for a haunting moviemine is a boxer that dies during a title fight, so his ghost haunts the ring where he died. I haven't made it past that
>>204873472haunted buttplug
>>204873472Where does he go when they take the ring down?
>>204873472Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man functions basically like that
>>204873538good point. maybe he haunts the championship belt that he was fighting for
Gonna watch daybreakers soon, haven’t watched it since it came out

>The Blob>The Fly>Invasion of the Body Snatchers>The ThingSome of the best horror films out there are remakes from corny (and great) 50s horror movies. Which classic do you think would make for a great modern horror film?
>>204873472i take a horror concept and equal it to addiction of any sort, sexual, drugs etc. then everyone clapped.
>>204873681Why is there no Creature From The Black Lagoon remake?
>>204873718https://variety.com/2024/film/news/creature-from-the-black-lagoon-remake-james-wan-1236104140/
>>204873718There will be soon, James Wan's directing. I have a neutral approach, low expectations towards it, not least because the original is an outstanding movie
>>204873739oh hell yeah
>>204873753he's done some great stuff and then there's malignant
>>204873681It's hard to think of one great 50s sc-fi horror that hasn't already been remade.Maybe The Incredible Shrinking Man would still work well, and Honey I Shrunk the Kids doesn't count

>>204873718your mother keeps getting upset when we try to cast her as the creature
>>204873681The Thing from Another World
it's almost time...
>>204873779>>204873798He's not untalented but yes Hollywood's slop machine has pulled him aside more than once to make shitty frankenmovies.Let's see how his vision works for this one, if it's a studio/producer's project chances are it'll be subpar, but if Wan focuses on doing a personal movie it could succeed even if it doesn't hold a candle to the great original movie.
>>204873242
>>204873273Thanks for posting this, been looking for it for awhile.
>>204873779Malignant is a great movie, and easily his best film.
>>204874002Have never watched this movie. Our english teacher (I am ESL, she was first generation/grew up ACROSS THE POND) talked to us about it when I was in the 4th grade.
>>204870129Lmao
>>204874182There's no better time to watch it than this very week. It's unrelated to the Halloween franchise plotwise but it is very odd, very comfy and has a lot of rewatch value
Picked my 3 movies out for tomorrow morning:>Rippy/The Red (2024)>Idle Hands (1999)>Hidden (2015)
>>204873681The Tingler would actually be a terrifying remake if done properly>Parasite that kills people on prolonged fear is let loose on the populace Even without the William Castle gimmick it would be spooky as fuck
>>204872706This movie is so fucking good

>>204874315That honestly sounds a great premise for a horror movie based of collective hysteria, a subject that I feel hasn't lived up to its potential yet.
