Spongebob horror film concept
>The year is 2030, and America is now The Bikini Bottom. The president is Hasselhoff and the vice president is Kenny. America is under Spongebob World Order
>Every form of entertainment is now about Spongebob. The books, the films, the shows, the games, the plays, even the internet content like YouTube videos. Everything is about Spongebob. The main source of entertainment is the long-running TV series of course, and every other piece of entertainment is either a remake, spinoff, sequel, prequel, or some other continuation of it. The main hobby nearly everyone has is finding hidden lore and secrets in the franchise, and watching Youtube fan theories, essays, and iceberg videos about it. 4chan only has six boards now, /sbsp/ - Spongebob Squarepants, /sbpol/ - Politics of Spongtebob, /sbp/ - Philosophy of Spongebob, /sbck/ - Food and Cooking of Spongebob, /sbm/ - Memes of Spongebob, and /spth/ - Theories of Spongebob, along with multiple generals for different forms of Spongebob discussion on each board.
>Spongebob is no longer a franchise or brand, it's a religion. The word "God" has been replaced with "Hillenburg". Everyone loves Spongebob now.
Would it be kino?

VOTE FOR YOUR 6 FAVORITE MICHAEL MYERS MASK BESIDES 78!

https://strawpoll.com/polls/PKgl3wKJ1np

...
88 is worst. 89 is decent from the side but straight on is poor, I liked it best when I was young for some reason, I liked the slicked back hair.

95 would be fully great if the damn neck wasn't so big.

02 would be great with blacked out eyes, the lips less shaded/distinct + the nose slightly less pointed upward.

98a would be good if the eyes were blacked out, hair less flared out and silly and the forehead's size was toned down.

I don't think we should bring the hays code back, but I think we should tone movies down just a little bit. They were fine how they were in the 80s and 90s, the 2000s became too over-the-top
Compare the original TCM to the remake. Perhaps leaving a little bit to the imagination is better and can make the film more disturbing? When you show to much, it becomes absurd and hard to take seriously, which is why extreme gore only works when it's done in a comedic way like Braindead.
I also don't think everyone horror film needs to be misery porn. Martyrs, Saw, Rob Zombie's Halloween 2, Halloween Kills, most of the newer TCM movies, etc. Why does everything have to be so miserable and mean-spirited now?
>>
>>205859903

>I don't think we should bring the hays code back, but I think we should tone movies down just a little bit.
My ideal would be that studios of a certain size/revenue would follow the Hays Code, while smaller producers can apply for a temporary license to circumvent it, citing a compelling reason for why their movie needs to operate outside of the code.

Post some unpopular horror opinions you have, I'll start with:

Alright, I finished it.
It was okay, but very overrated. I would rate it higher if it were a low-budget, straight-to-video movie, but I expect more from something so mainstream, playing in theaters everywhere.
Like many modern movies I've noticed, there isn't much new to offer. It just combines a bunch of things ripped off from older movies. I could forgive that if it were just some indie director making a love-letter movie, but as a large production, I expect it to offer something new and original.

The story itself felt to me like something you'd find in an anthology horror, except they managed to take it and drag it out to nearly 2 and a half hours. Nothing about the movie required that length. The acting performances weren't great, the script itself was weak. The cinematography was pretty good actually, but it was good because they aped the hell out of Stanley Kubrick.

I enjoyed the movie but I still fear the future of the genre if this kind of thing is the best they can offer
>>
>>205868410
>Stanley Kubrick
wow, you are stupid
>>
>>205865138
I just got back from seeing it.
The pop music and the dance rehearsals were cool, she's convincingly like Britney Spears. The regular horror music was freaky and effective too, like the first movie.
I predicted the ending as soon as I realized she was a pop star in the trailer.
I'm not sure what parts of the movie were even real. I guess she didn't kill her mom, and that Morris guy was fake but did she really fuck up that fundraiser speech? You'd think the news / tabloids would be all over that. How did she even get in a position to perform at the end if she was that insane? Was it just controlling her in the dressing room?
Overall I liked it, I wonder if it multiplied into a million people as new hosts at the end

time for some more old timey horror tonight
>>
I watched TimeCut. I should have known better than trust Netflix. Extremely underwhelming. I would hesitate to even call it a horror movie. There was no suspense, barely any kills, no whacky twists, not a single jumpscare, no nudity, and a disappointing incel killer. There was the obligatory mixed race protagonist and gay rights b plot that had nothing to do with anything else. That movie had so much potential. It could have been Scream with time travel. Not a masterpiece by any means, but at least a solid teen slasher flick. What the hell happened? It's like no good slasher has been made since the early 2000s. Every slasher now is just heavily watered down Scream with gays and blacks

The first Blood and Honey film had a budget of $100,000 and made back $5,000,000. So a decent chunk. Honestly it's not to different from the Blumhouse model, just throw tiny budgets around and all you really need is for one or two to actually be even partial hits and you'll both pay back all the films you financed and make some pretty bank too.

Halloween III is a good Sci-Fi/Horror film, but it's "Halloween" in name only, it has no Michael Myers.
Halloween 4 is very good
Halloween 5 is good if you like 4, if not, skip it. It does get more absurd though
Halloween 6 (Curse of Michael Myers) gets even more strange, as it features a Satanic cult, and also implies Michael raped his niece (in the producer's cut), but I really like this one. It ties directly into 4 and 5, so if you enjoy those, you might want to watch it. The theatrical cut is very absurd but removes some of the cult shit, the producer's cut is more toned done but features more cult shit. I recommend seeing both cuts, as they are almost different movies. The Producer's Cut is generally preferred by fans.

H20 (LL Cool J one) is a mediocre Scream clone, and the score is horrible. It also reboots the franchise by ignoring everything after II (original)
Resurrection is insanely bad, it features Busta Ryhmes kung fu kicking Michael out a window
The Rob Zombie ones are 2edgy4me. You should be able to decide if they're worth watching by seeing this webm I posted here, which is one of the first scenes in Halloween (2007), and no, it's not just one scene. All of that film, and all of its sequel, are like that.

Even if you like those, saying they're better than the original is retarded. The original has a better score and script, it has better acting, it has better cinematography, it's better in every single way. The only thing Rob's do better is not featuring Jamie Lee Curtis.

>>
>>205876247
>>thinks we can't see him jerking off to dated horror slop.
If you randomly imagine men jerking off while posting on 4chan, you might be a faggot
>Rob did them justice
Rob turned the original into a generic early 2000s slasher film remake, it's just like every other remake from that era, and unironically quite dated now, which you accuse the original of being. It also made Michael less mysterious and gave him the worlds most generic serial killer backstory ever (muh trashy abusive parents)
The second film was some strange experimental shit. The entire "white horse" shit was forced and only added as Rob feels the need to include his wife (who can't act) in every film. The best part unironically is the intro, which is copying the original sequel. The rest of the film is Laurie crying and bitching about "muh trauma" as a homeless man who see's ghosts kills people.
>>
>>205876440
>>205876440
you couldn't stop jerking off to dated horror slop if you tried faggot, that's why you're here and not over at plebbit.
i didn't need a rundown about Rob's remakes, i've seen them sweetheart, but you go ahead and keep creaming yourself over the classics which some of us have seen a billion times and were glad when Rob came along with his version which was an awful look into Michael and his fucked up family.
>>
>>205876731
>Doesn't even deny anything I said
>Can't make any counter arguments for why Rob's films are better, as he's too busy ranting about "jerking off" and "creaming"
I'd like to see somebody actually trying explaining how Rob's remake is better than the original.
Giving us a look into Michael's "fucked up family" was not a good idea. This ruins the entire concept of Michael Myers. The entire reason why Michael was disturbing was because he was from a classy white family and snapped for no apparent reason. He was pure evil.
Rob didn't just fuck up by giving him a backstory, he fucked up by the backstory he gave him too. He gave him the most fucking generic serial killer backstory ever. "Hurr durr his parents wuz all abusive and trashy n shieet", that's the most creative thing he could imagine? I guess so, as not only did he make Michael and his family a bunch of rednecks, but every film he makes is about, or features, rednecks. This man cannot think of a single character besides "redneck who wuz be swearin' and killin' yall niggas n shieet"

Here's what I think, anon
You are shitting on the originals and praising the generic remakes either because you know it will let you gain (You)s, or you're just an edgy teenager who likes Rob's more they're more edgy, and because it would be the "contrarian" thing to do.
For one, if you didn't even like the original, why have you seemingly seen every sequel and remake? Secondly, if you truly liked these films, you would be able to actually defend them, meanwhile you're entire argument right now is "da original wuz dated or some shit nigga also we wuz jerkin' off n shieet".

2LDK is ridiculously good given it only took a week to make, and it covers many genres. The director also did 12 Suicidal Teens, which is a good mystery-drama.

Yeah. And simp cuck and beta. Girls have been hearing "omg youre so pretty since like age 7."
Imagine complimenting a girl just like every other betamale.

>Black Christmas
God that movie is so fucking good.
The atmosphere is impeccable.

That's why you need to nag them, like an actual gay man, that's how you get them, if they ask you "how's my hair?", you answer "not as bad as that dress", they'll immediately want to have sex with you.

>Imagine complimenting a girl just like every other betamale
Bro, you do know 90% of the male population consists of low value betamales right?
>>
>>205905813
In younger social circles with cool boys, the boys neg the girls a lot and the girls love it. Lots of teasing and shit. Thing is, and it is hilarious, the older a girl gets, the less teasing she can take cause she is not longer attractive. You can only tease young and still attractive girls. As soon as the girl shows signs of aging, the teasing feels more like insults to her lmfao
>>
>>205905813
>like an actual gay man
Gay men are outcome independent. 90% of males are outcome dependent. Scared to lose her, scared to say the wrong thing, scared she ditches him, so their whole relationship with a girl is very one-side. It is hilarious cause THIS is how 90% of relationships are. Whethere the man is married to her or dating, majority of men are simping/cucking indirectly if not directly. Life is garbage for 90% of men.

Everybody picking on me but this is what I have to look at to have a toke. It's hard to see but there is a wheelbarrow beside the picnic table. First night, the split second the light came on, I thought it was someone crouched down beside the table.

You've convinced me to never watch it. Horror movies have no business being that long to begin with
>>
>>205909495
That guy obviously has a bias against modern movies, why would you listen to him?
>>
>>205870189
Yea, terrifier really doesn't need the completely unrelated scenes to show gore. I like that aspect of the movie, but trimming terrifier movies down to 90 minutes would make them better overall, even if it resulted in less edge. 2 &3 just feel like you could easily trim 20-30 minutes each, without affecting anything
>>
>>205870189
He smashed the door for two reasons. Scare the mother even more and look at her through the door when she discovered her puzzled child.
For us, it was just a coold nod to Shining. I also liked the Savini cameo, you can tell Leone respect the art of practical effects.
>>
The Exorcist is completely mogged by other classic 70s horror films
>>
>>205909524
I've already heard it was too "comedic," it just sounds like a waste of 150 minutes
>>
>>205909321
No, I was reacting to the guy who said something like "guys who compliment girls" in the conversation about one guy among a group of other guys on 4chan make an objective remark about Linda Hamilton's beauty. Because either Linda Hamilton has to be here to receive the compliment or that guy requires an unrelated tangent to back up some retarded remark he made deriding normal men in the course of their natural duties as surveyors and appraisers of beautiful things. Or he's just a bitter faggot.
>>
>>205909808
And which are those? I never watched the exorcist all the way through until a couple years ago because the beginning seemed boring, but it's actually very good
>>
>>205909906
Cringe, why are you writing a page about this
>>
>>205909906
>deriding normal men in the course of their natural duties as surveyors and appraisers of beautiful things.
You do know the "norm" meaning 90% of men are low value betamales right? The norm for the average person is also working a job and retiring not rich too, you know that right? Being the norm, is never a good thing.
>>
>>205909906
>>205909968
Oh this makes sense. I just remembered you're the fag obsessed with that shit movie blackcoats daughter lol
>>

kek, spoken like an average male lol.
You think those millionaires and billionaires view women like this? They just view girls are things that can be bought and paid for?
>>
>>205910027
I don’t even find Linda Hamilton attractive but come on bro, just admit you’re gay.
>>
>>205909878
Oh okay if you aren't into dark comedies then yeah it probably isn't for you. I loved it though, and I thought it justified it's runtime.
>>
Lol the upsetness meter just went through the roof.
>>
>>205910219
You're clearly a reddit fag. No one cares that much about your opinion, even though you think you need a little nametag to post here. The fact you always post generalized things like this anytime someone goes after you shows how much of a tranny you are
>>
>>205910219
Not upset, but it gives you a glimpse how those at the top view those at the bottom, or at least those that are the majority.
>>
>>205909906
Or you are just poor and not in the top 10% so you have to view girls as people instead of objects that can be bought and paid for.
>>

You're comparing apples to oranges. None of those are even similar movies. It's like some marvel fag comparing his movies to Predator because they're both "action" movies
>>
>>205910219
You really pissed him off tonight.

>None of those are even similar movies.
They’re similar in that they’re all better than The Exorcist.

>Celebrity worship is pathetic
Like keeping those thoughts to yourself is fine, I am sure all men look at a girl and sometimes think "ohh pretty." (female beauty is an illusion) But to type out those thoughts with
>omggg who would cheat on herrr she is so perfect
is pure simp/betaness. The sad thing is, these are grown ass men.
The constant simping in here, sometimes ironic, but most of time now (check social media comments and youtube) really shows how pathetic the bottom percentage of men are.
>>
>>205911009
We don't need 10 paragraphs of gay jeetspeak ranting about it in the horror movie general.
>>
>>205911147
I agree with you. We also don't need faggots posting some bitch non stop. It's equally annoying. I remember when that one dipshit would post the tiger nell cunt a hundred times a day

Is there some reason why Amazon Prime and Shudder now have plenty of Japanese Horror films on their catalog now? Are they cheap to get the rights to stream now, or has there been a resurgence that I'm not aware of?
