gathering the large data would be relatively easy, but im curious about the possibility to get an idea for /hor/s top 31 horror films or something like that.

>>214710121
Oh true. Maybe polls like that poll-anon does. With like 100 films, and you get to pick 10. One poll a day. You could get one round in a month for a first bracket, still might take like 2 months depending on the other brackets.

the word they use is man-syon which is a borrowed word from english, but the meaning of mansion in corea is different than in english as in corea it means something close to a "multi-family housing" or just apartments
it's like they had the word introduced into their language to describe something that didn't previously exist in their language only to then be distorted over time either by way of how apartments were explained
curiously enough they also have apateu which is a borrow word meaning apartment but it's an apartment building that's much larger than the man-syon so it's literally mansion = condos apartment building and apateu = high rise apartments
there's also 빌라 or billa (villa) which is an apartment building smaller than a mansion

anyone seen a possibly european horror movie from 1970s where a squid liek monster gets in a girls vag
then makes her kill guys
then last scene she either dies or something and the critter escapes into the ocean

in once scnee a guy is making out with her and a littel claw comes from her vag to kinda lightly scratch the guy

really hilarious

So I tried watching Southbound and after like 15 minutes the movie dumps it's characters and situation it spent building up and starts all over again with boring and unlikable characters.
Then I started watching The Empty Man after quitting the Southbound and it did the same thing after 20 minutes.
Both movies instantly lost me because the characters it spent trying to get me to care about and invested in are just thrown into the trash because it wants to rush the thrills and then goes into a major slump with terrible pacing.
Why do so many modern horror movies do this shit?

If a film is in color it cannot be a Film Noir. The chiaroscuro cinematography, particularly of John Alton, is a part of what defines Film Noir. It's why the genre turned into generic crime when color film was popularized.

This is a super fun movie.
>>
The girl from Blair Witch is really fucking annoying huh. I've actually never seen this movie before, 22 minutes in, paused to piss. I hope the witch kills her.
>>
>>214732764
I remember when Blair Witch came out and people thought it was real because they'd never seen a found footage style of movie before.
The world has changed so much, we're never going to get another horror movie that can have a real effect on people and shock audiences and be a phenomenon like that
>>
>>214732764

Blair Witch has aged horribly.
>>
>>214732068
No, it's literally after the detective fiction trend
Noir/giallo/Bundy's love of DC all come from the insane popularity of detective fiction, and what makes them noir is they're dark in the same sense as dark romance fiction is dark- it's for female edgelords who love a lurid detail. It's why you have Argento remaking Screaming Mimi which also came from the trend in books
A french critic observed that the US cinema of the 40s was going through a massively popular true crime girly pop era (hence Marilyn being in the black and white Asphalt Jungle and Technicolor Niagara, both of which make the cut for the genre, both of which make her more popular by association with the edgy genre)
It's why there's still detective fiction books written as noirs. It's not about being in b&w, it's about being a dark edgy detective fiction creeper
>>
>>214733017
The post-war cynicism you're talking about is a true aspect of it but something like Out of The Past, and say, The French Connection. One is obviously a Noir while the other is a generic Crime film. Even though it has a downbeat ending and the urban grit, it's still not a Noir.

The first few are bangers it goes off the deep end hard though as you go along with the sequels. I do recommend watching them all though. You appreciate the good ones so much more when you see the bad ones. There’s one that’s entire bad, can’t remember I think it’s the one before the most recent.

>Despite what the filmmakers had planned for Mike and Heather being constantly antagonistic towards each other, with Josh as mediator, it was Heather and Josh who fought almost constantly during filming. The directors found it incredibly difficult to piece together a version of the movie that felt cohesive enough for the audience to believe the storyline that Heather and Josh were actually friends who would work together on a project. Director Daniel Myrick stated in an interview that at one point in particular, Josh was quite venomous towards Heather (quote: "he was really laying into her"), and that he and co-director Eduardo Sánchez (with whom he had been observing the three from a distance, unknown to the actors), had to break the rules about not interfering to stop the argument before it escalated.

You'd be surprised. If it's a darker beer, it may even improve. I've had some pumpkin stouts that I couldn't drink fresh and just left them in the pantry, next year got a hankering and tried them, and found them much easier to drink.
