Fallout 3’s plot was kind of stupid. They were fighting over a water purifier, but there is virtually no reason to not turn it on. The Enclave would want it on for fewer mutants, the BoS would want it on for cleaner water. They effectively just fought over who gets credit to press the on button. Fallout 3 couldn’t decide if the Enclave was cartoonishly evil or if they were going to be more political, like Caesar’s Legion. If it’s the latter, the Enclave should’ve funded project purity and taken credit for it instead of just randomly executing scientists like what Autumn did. If it’s the former Autumn’s motive, that everyone will want to flock to the Enclave makes no sense, in game they don’t even bother to pretend to try helping people, they’re basically not much better than bandits in suits
